La Locanda del Poggio In Terni

The menu is varied and well-stocked, the staff is extremely friendly and approachable, and the atmosphere is welcoming.

We were traveling from Ravenna to Caserta and found Terni to be the hub between the two cities and a great place to stop. Once we exited the E45 near Terni, we discovered "La Locanda del Poggio" down by the bridge on a Sunday, the restaurant and dining room being packed. We decided to stop to ask if there were any seats, and the very kind waiter Fabrizio was immediately available and seated us. The wait and service were very quick, considering the dining room was packed. We were served a fish-based first course, such as seafood scialatielli and fried calamari, as well as a first course with tomato sauce for our daughter. What can I say? Everything was plentiful (on average it takes three people to eat a single dish), from the first course, which satisfied our meal, to the second course, also fish, of excellent quality. Everything was fresh, like the homemade pasta and the fresh fish! We immediately immersed ourselves in a fantastic experience. We ate wonderfully, their cuisine was evocative, and the best thing that happened to us (perhaps because of my Apulian blood, like mine) was the presence of the owner Carmelo (from Crispiano, in the province of Taranto), who insisted on giving me two bottles of Umbrian wine without me even asking. These are the most interesting discoveries in life. A place run by extraordinary people. The prices are fair, 40 euros for three people. A truly excellent value for what we drank and ate, right down to the dessert and coffee (excellent). I congratulate you, Carmelo, and all your staff for making me feel at home. Despite the chaos in the restaurant on Sunday, customers certainly appreciate your quality and your cuisine!!!! Ad maiora.

Excellent tasting menu, generous portions at a fair price!

We were there today for a communion lunch; sincere and immense compliments, a selection of fish cooked to perfection in every way. A cornerstone of Terni's dining scene!

Very elegant place, precise and punctual service, excellent food. We had the seafood risotto 🦞, truly delicious (and coming from someone who isn't particularly fond of fish, that's a great compliment!), the sea bream fillets, the baked potatoes, and the sorbet 🍋 Spent about €80 💶 A place to definitely return to ⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐
