22/08/2025: We didn't even have time to eat because as soon as we entered the waiter didn't accept that we had decided to sit upstairs instead of downstairs. By the time we ordered water, we were asked what we wanted to order. After asking for another minute, the waiter snorted, and at that second sign of rudeness, we got up to go downstairs to pay for the water, which he said hadn't even been brought to us because he knew that a couple of tourists, very normal young people like so many others, would leave, and so it was.

26/09/2025: A very nice place with a carefully selected selection of wines and products to taste. Excellent for aperitifs.

11/09/2025: Lovely little restaurant in the heart of the town. We sat outside and enjoyed the views away from the markets and the Panini's were filling and very tasty, accompanied by a lovely red wine. Excellent service from the guy there too. Will definitely be back when we visit again. To the waiter who served us - great Pokémon collection!

19/09/2025: Great location in Piazza della Cisterna. Delicious sandwiches that were sufficiently huge with wonderful bread and they were not overpriced. Service was quick. Inside is not large but we had room for our group of 10.

17/09/2025: I tried the focaccia 'il timido', which fully met my expectations. The staff at the counter were friendly, helpful, and had that touch of attentiveness that makes you feel welcome. If you're in the area and looking for something quick but made with care and quality ingredients, stop by.

10/10/2025: Frankly, I don't like this restaurant's strategy: the portions of the first courses are truly minimal, so customers are forced to order a second course as well, or even a different first course. I'd accept this sort of compromise if the prices of the individual dishes were also commensurate, but they aren't, and frankly, it doesn't seem like an elegant approach.

05/10/2025: Rarely write reviews on here but left here feeling incredibly disappointed on our first night in Tuscany. We started with a soup, which tasted bland. The mains were passable, the pasta was where it clawed back a star, but the beef carpaccio, covered in raw mushrooms, was, in my opinion, mediocre. Wasn’t too keen on the ‘formal’ atmosphere, but it is a lovely building and some other guests looked like they were enjoying it. Preference, I guess. Staff were friendly and professional. Price was far too high for what it was. Wrote this as hope it helps the restaurant improve in a couple areas as it is in a fantastic location.

27/09/2025: I stumbled upon this place by chance, desperately looking for a sandwich. I found, in addition to a fabulous sandwich, a great deal of kindness and helpfulness. I'll definitely be back!

11/09/2025: It was just the stop we needed. A simple, not shabby, quiet atmosphere, good food, a friendly waiter, and a moderately high price. Next door, we had a group of pilgrims using the bar service.

22/09/2025: Excellent experience. Super friendly, helpful, and welcoming staff—top marks. The dishes were beautifully plated and truly delicious, without exception. Fair prices. The location was meticulously maintained. The parking management staff were extremely organized. Reservations are recommended. Highly recommended.

07/10/2025: A quaint place where you can eat both inside and on the terrace. The tagliatelle with wild boar ragù and pecorino cheese platter are excellent. The staff is young and dynamic... but you can't serve your dishes with a cloth and a spray bottle. What a shame! And I didn't like that, at the checkout, they asked if we wanted to leave a tip...

06/10/2025: Delicious rack of lamb, truffle carbonara, and tagliata. It was a true feast for the taste buds. My number one choice during my stay in Tuscany.

26/09/2025: The quality of the food was excellent! The ravioli is highly recommended. We started with bruschetta, and it was also the best we had during our holiday. The staff was also incredibly friendly and passionate. They offered advice and explained the wine. Definitely recommended!

11/10/2025: Discovered purely by chance, it was the best discovery a raw meat lover could make. Everything was so good we got carried away. The carpaccios were all amazing, especially the one with the scallop, and the tartares were all different, each with their own unique flavors. Truly, everything was amazing and delicious! The place is very cute, and the owner and waiter are very kind and welcoming. Highly recommended... and if I'm back in the area, I'll definitely be back!

08/09/2025: A beautiful vineyard with good wine and olive oil. We spent some time here on our way to San Gimignano and really enjoyed it. I highly recommend it as a place worth visiting.

03/10/2025: Typical Tuscan offerings with friendly service. Limited offerings and a sparse wine list. Some of the basic varieties they were out of. Not a fan of music during dinner and they had classical at a pretty high volume.

09/09/2025: DELICIOUS LUNCH INSIDE A CASTLE ! My wife and I arrived in Florence by Bullet Train from Rome on Sunday, March 23rd. A well appointed king suite on the 5th floor of the luxurious Hotel Berchielli would be HOME for the next 4 days. Hard to beat that view of the picturesque River Arno ! We had a couple of day tours planned while in Florence and had engaged the services of our fav limo tour driver Martin who knew the ropes around here better than most. And more than that Martin had become our good friend since we first used his services 18 months before when he drove us from Florence to Bologna via the scenic route. On Monday Martin picked us up out front to begin our road tour of Tuscany. AMAZING SCENERY EVERYWHERE ! We stopped at Piazza del Campo for a look around...Siena Cathedral was beautiful ! In the distance I could see a large structure that looked like a castle. I said to Martin that I had never seen a castle....then we will go there Michael was his reply. Martin let us out at the front entrance while he parked the limo...and then he joined us within a few minutes. WOW ! What we could see out front sure looked majestic. NOTE ! San Gimignano is a small walled medieval hill town in the province of Siena, Tuscany, north-central Italy. Known as the Town of Five Towers, San Gimignano is famous for its medieval architecture, unique in the preservation of about a dozen of its tower houses which with its hilltop setting and encircling walls, form "an unforgettable skyline". In the 3rd century BC a small Etruscan village stood on the site of San Gimignano. Shortly after we entered through the front gate my wife bought a beautiful Italian wide brimmed straw hat to replace the one left behind on the Bullet Train. We walked along the pristine paved paths looking at the wide variety of small businesses designed to please the hordes of tourists who visit here. At around 1pm we decided it was time to have some lunch and Martin knew the perfect spot...La Biscondola. We found a level table on the sloping outdoor patio and a smiling server named Giusy brought us menus. FIRST UP ! I ordered a bottle of Vale Blonde Ale to come out with our glasses of iced waters. I also asked Guisy to bring me a tall stem glass. FOOD ! I wasn't really sure what I wanted so I thought ordering a Bruschetta would be a good start. My wife and Martin both went with serves of Zuppa Toscana di Farro ( Tuscan spelled soup ). My ice cold blonde ale in a tall stem glass tasted very good. SUPER FAST SERVICE ! Before we knew it our server Giusy brought everything out to our table. My wife and our friend Martin commented how satisfying their soups tasted....it was a chilly day. OMG ! When I ordered my bruschetta I figured it would be a small serve and then I would order something else. BIGGEST BRUSCHETTA EVER ! But I tell you what....it was totally delicious. DESSERT ! We had plans to buy gelatos at a very famous gelateria up the street but some sort of cake sounded nice. When I was checking out inside a bit earlier I saw this interesting looking cake on the bar counter. Giusy told me it was called Panforte Fichi e Noci ( figs, nuts, honey ). Everyone agreed we should have some. Soon after Giusy brought out 6 thin slices on a platter...it tasted dense, rich and very flavorsome. We loved it. I had a lovely chat with Stefania the owner before we headed off on our merry way. A VERY ENJOYABLE LUNCH !

12/10/2025: The wild boar pappardelle was excellent, and the raw ham was fantastic! The fried porcini mushrooms were the icing on the cake. The ingredients were delicious and seasonal. A must-try if you're in San Gimignano.
