06/07/2024: We loved this restaurant! The views were spectacular overlooking the countryside. It definitely had the traditional dishes we’ve come to expect from the area but a few different options including fried chicken with friend vegetables in a tempura style. And these fried potatoes that were a cross between a potato chip and a French fry. Really good.

16/08/2024: A really great restaurant with a view of San Gimignano, the pizzas are terrific and the rest of the menu is also highly recommended.
A majority of the guests are Italian and since it was raining, it was a bit noisy throughout. But that also makes it very beautiful and Italian. A clear emo miss, we'll definitely be back.
Be sure to reserve otherwise it will be difficult as it is very busy.

23/08/2024: I really love the food, the place is not bad but the one thing that I didn't like was the glass of wine I ordered (it was like ⅛ of the glass only) it's was like a shot of wine lol.

Unfortunately our expectations were not met, meat was normal, nothing unforgettable, even a little burnt, too bad! The cost is absolutely not worth the experience. On the other hand, friendly service and a nice place.

27/08/2024: I recently dined at Il Pino, a place that left quite an impression—though not for the reasons one might hope. The food itself was satisfactory, but the atmosphere was overshadowed by the bizarre behavior of the owner, who seemed more interested in performing antics than running a restaurant.
As we were seated and began our meal, we couldn't help but notice the owner hanging from the balcony by one arm, a sight that was both alarming and distracting. He remained there throughout our entire dining experience, grunting and snuffling in a way that was impossible to ignore. His constant, unsettling presence made it difficult to enjoy the food or the company.
While the service was adequate, and the dishes were reasonably well-prepared, the overall experience was marred by the owner's antics. Dining out should be about enjoying good food and a pleasant atmosphere, but at Il Pino, the wild behavior of the owner took center stage in the worst possible way.
If you’re looking for a quiet, enjoyable meal, this might not be the place for you. But if you’re in the mood for something truly out of the ordinary—though not necessarily in a good way—you might find Il Pino worth a visit. Personally, I found the experience off-putting and unlikely to return.

07/08/2024: We were recommended this restaurant by our concierge service for its ability to serve vegan options, which was echoed by a previous review. Unfortunately, our experience was anything but accommodating. Upon arrival, we were informed that only one starter could be made vegan. When we inquired about mains, they suggested adapting meat-based pasta dishes by removing all toppings and substituting with just olive oil—completely disregarding that the pasta itself likely contains egg, making it unsuitable for vegans.
We ended up leaving without ordering, and this also led our non-vegan companions to follow suit. We had high hopes, but were severely disappointed by their inability to offer reasonable vegan options. If you have anyone with dietary requirements in your group, I would not recommend dining here.

Salty bill for the quality of the dishes presented, excellent venison carpaccio, but it is not the first time I come to Tuscany, nor the first time I eat wild boar, I know the taste very well, eating it also in our Padua hills, I'm sorry but I don't there was nothing reminiscent of the strong and wild taste of wild boar; the dishes in question were pappardelle and braised wild boar, among other things for me the first and second courses were brought together... I think we need to look at it a bit out of respect for foreign tourists too.

09/08/2024: The service was very bad and the staff seemed very stressed and we felt very uninvited. Another negative point about the meal was that the bruschetta was burnt. We ordered 4 pizzas and were then told that they didn't have enough ingredients and could only make us 3 pizzas. This was very disappointing and the pizzas were just enough. When it came to paying, they forgot to take off the 4th pizza and no nice gesture like taking off the 2nd bruschetta didn't come all in one, it was really not worth recommending.

06/08/2024: Update 2024: I returned after several years and with joy I can not only still confirm what I wrote at the time, but the food has also improved. It remains an obligatory stop for me when I get to these parts.

Happy discovery during a holiday in San Gimignano, I returned every evening for the entire week spent here.
Friendly and helpful staff, very good and simple cuisine.
It is possible to eat outside or inside with air conditioning present and turned on (from experiences this is not a given...).
During the various dinners I was able to try various dishes, all excellent.
I highly recommend this place!

14/08/2024: Nice place away from the hustle and bustle, in a cozy alley where a pleasant breeze blows through and where you can see the swallows at work.
• Delicious food, but the bruchetta bread could have been a little crispier and a little more oily. Bread was a bit dry and tasteless which somewhat lost the delicious toppings.
- For me, the caramelized onions and the goat cheese with pear were the best toppings.
* Furthermore, pasta and lasagna were spot-on good.
• And the house wine, you stay there for a delicious soft yet full wine with notes of raisin.
* The host was at our beck and call.
Feedback; An English menu, definitely recommended with all those tourists.
09/08/2024: I didn't intend to write a review—because of the recent negative reviews—but seeing how an awfully suspicious five-star rating popped up, I just had to share my experience. Something has CLEARLY gone wrong in the last few days because this restaurant is no longer what its reviews and images indicate. I had dinner here and ordered a panini; it was bland, with the biggest loaves I have ever seen. The loaves were untoasted, dry, and had a maximum of three drops of olive oil. The Parma ham was extremely thick—NOT TRADITIONAL—making it impossible to eat. The ends of the tomatoes were used, making for an extremely unappealing and overall bland meal. It's like the current owner/chef doesn't know what seasoning is. I can't speak for the bruschettas (only served in the morning), but I assume they share a similar story, as also indicated by a recent review.
I don't want to bash the restaurant, but this "food" is barely fit for human consumption. I urge the owner to take a look inward and realize the glaring issues with this restaurant. The service was okay—he had a hard time speaking and understanding English—and the atmosphere was calming, though the walkway by the restaurant was quite narrow.
The recent five-star review contradicts all my points, which is why I am almost certain it is propaganda by the owner. Call me a conspiracy theorist, but the points in that review are EXACTLY what he told us when we asked him about our meal at the restaurant.
For now, I do not recommend going here to eat, especially not for dinner.

20/08/2024: Splendid location and very kind staff! If you decide to spend a couple of days near San Gimignano this is the place for you. In addition to the B&B service, the structure also offers a wine tasting experience of their own production, which I personally recommend doing. The only "negative" point for the summer is the absence of air conditioning, but there is a fan in the rooms that will be able to cool you down.
