04/05/2026: They didn't give us a room at the hotel. They took us to a house across the street. The room was very basic, and the bathroom was old and outdated. The shower was tiny and difficult to use, and the toilet cistern was broken; we had to hit it to get it to work. It was very expensive for the awful room they gave us. I don't recommend it. 20/03/2026: A lovely hotel in San Gimignano, with the owner's courtesy and helpfulness. The only downside was that we had to pay for two coffees in the morning, even though breakfast was included. Sometimes you need a good nose.

01/07/2026: We went to Poggio last month with my wife, my children, and another family of friends, and I have to say we really enjoyed it. Surrounded by nature, we ate very well and drank even better. The staff is very kind, and the place is not only beautiful, but also very friendly. I also got to meet the Gingeniere ❤️

18/05/2026: We were there last night for my wife's birthday. A beautiful historic restaurant with panoramic terraces, located in one of the most beautiful squares in the world. Chef Giovanni delighted us with a welcome aperitif and a truly delicious mixed antipasti platter. Followed by top-notch gourmet pizzas...I think the best I've ever tasted...top-notch ingredients and expert craftsmanship. The "Giovanni" pizza is a must-try...delicious. 5 stars are not enough...highly recommended!!!

31/05/2026: I bought two bread rolls with thin slices of wild boar meat inside for 13.5 euros; the taste was so-so. I gave her 100 euros, and this middle-aged woman with dark hair and black-rimmed glasses deliberately shortchanged me by 20 euros. At first, I didn't ask for a receipt, and she kept joking with me, asking where I was from, trying to distract me. Later, I realized I should ask for the receipt, and when I went outside, I saw I was short. Five minutes later, I went back in to ask her, and she immediately apologized, admitting her mistake. Wow, what a rip-off!

10/05/2026: We had the absolute best experience. We only had one hour in San Gimigiano and chose to wine and cheese taste. It was a rainy day and we still had the most magical experience. We tried cheeses, meats, bread and balsamic and asked for the connoisseur to pick out our wines. Everything was incredible!! We will absolutely come back.

23/04/2026: We live near Napa and have been to hundreds of wineries. This was perhaps the best experience I’ve ever had. The setting is spectacular - a sweeping view of the Tuscan countryside. The entire operation is run by the family - warm, genuine, knowledgeable and simply lovely. Every single detail is thought of from olive oil tasting glass to the balsamic tasting spoon and the food bites to the history of the winery and Tuscan winemaking. The tasting host was perfection - knowledgeable and authentic. The wines, olive oils and balsamic vinegars were unique and excellent! We shipped a bunch home. A MUST stop if you are in Tuscany. (And the vineyard dogs are so cute!)

04/07/2026: Very friendly and flexible service. Great tasting crepes with both salty and sweet combinations. There is also a very interesting crepes-pizza that I found very good. Drinks offered are milk-shakes and bubble tea to complete the offer of an on-the-go snack or meal. No seating is available, so be ready to eat on the go or sit on the side somewhere. Everything is completely gluten free, so no risk of contamination for celiacs.

09/07/2026: Well, well, well. How not to be too critical... We remember the restaurant a few years back, when it was getting only top scores, even mentioned in some tourist guides. We were surprised to see 4.0 overall rating. But now, after a few dishes and an hour in, we understand why. It is simply not as good as it was. The food is really nothing special. Pasta ragu was very salty, ravioli rather tasteless, but Carbonara sweet like a pancale with honey. The mixed salad was a mixed green salad with 5 thin slices of tomato. Oh, almost forgot to mention a thin scrub from a carot. Some dishes were very average, some really not good. The service was less attentive than you would expect. On the top of all that, we had a doubtful pleasure of listening to overwhelmingly loud conversations of some tourists behaving like they rented the whole restaurant for themselves. All in all, we were not lucky this time and our adventure with this, formerly excellent restaurant ended for good. Breathtaking view is not sufficient to conclude our experience with more than 3 stars (perhaps out of our sentiment).
