05/03/2025: I come to Tuscany after missing it for many years and I ask for a Florentine. I am presented with a pale steak cooked on a soapstone instead of on the grill. It's true that tradition requires soapstone but do you want to compare cooking on a grill with embers to cooking on soapstone? Even from an aesthetic point of view there is a sea of ​​difference!

12/07/2025: A great place to visit! Delicious cocktails, friendly staff who become friends, and if you have kids it’s located in a square opposite an ice cream shop where kids can run around after their ice cream - and so it’s a win win 😅🙂

22/06/2025: June 2025. We went for a cocktail, the place usually creates original themed cocktail lists to offer to customers in addition to the usual suspects, the theme of the list was genius and debauchery inspired by the great geniuses and drinkers, to be clear George Best. The cocktails are exaggerated and of all types and for each one on the list there is a nice radar chart that helps in the choice. The service is excellent, the very prepared staff can help you in choosing the cocktail. Conclusion if you are in the Pietrasanta area and you want to drink well and/or something original this is where you have to come!

15/07/2025: Siamo state a cena io e le mie amiche, esperienza totalmente negativa. Ore 21.30, ci siamo sedute a cena una mia amica trova un pezzo di vetro sul tavolo mentre un'altra mia amica si è tagliata un dito con un pezzo di vetro che si trovava sul suo tovagliolo, per fortuna che stava prendendo il tovagliolo per metterlo sulle gambe e non per pulirsi la bocca. Le portano del disinfettante e un cerotto e per scusarsi dell accaduto dicono che ci offriranno i dolci, invece dopo erano tutti inseriti sul conto!!! Molti dei piatti del menù TERMINATI! 3 tipi di vini rosè, 2 dei quali TERMINATI e l'unico rimasto IMBEVIBILE Abbiamo ordinato gli stessi piatti per non aspettare troppo Alcuni erano crudi altri erano stracotti (tipo l uovo) La paella immangiabile, riso o crudo e bruciato!!!! Confidavo nei churros e invece, totalmente insapore!!! Servizio lentissimo! MAI PIÙ P.S.: a fine serata avranno rotto almeno 4/5 bicchieri, ecco perchè tutti quei pezzi di vetro sul tavolo.

13/06/2025: We arrived at Maki Maki at 11:30 PM, convinced we were going to have a great night, but it was a real disaster. After half an hour of being inside, no one had even bothered to bring us drinks. The guest of the evening arrived after 2 AM, an endless wait without any explanation or respect for those who had been there for hours. The icing on the cake? When I dared to complain — quite legitimately — about the fact that it was already 2:15 AM and still no one had shown up, a gentleman (I don't know what role he had, but he was behind the console) thought it best to answer me... by pushing me. A total lack of respect, professionalism and safety. Not only did they not even let us leave in the meantime, but the treatment was truly unacceptable. Overrated place, terrible organization and aggressive staff. I will never return and I advise anyone not to set foot there.

08/06/2025: We were a group of eight guys on a mission to throw a bachelor party to remember. Despite numerous warnings from locals — who recommended more elegant and relaxed environments in the Viareggio dock — we decided to challenge fate and cross the threshold of the infamous Maki Maki. As soon as we entered, we found ourselves catapulted into what seemed like a summer camp for teenagers: the average age at first glance lower than the right to vote in Italy. The service was a bit poor. The table was dirty when we arrived and the waiters were practically absent. And yet, between a kid looking for cigarettes and a few shaky drinks, the evening began to pick up pace. Good commercial music, surprisingly engaging entertainment girls, and the price was all in all fair for a nightclub in this area. A positive note to the very kind guy who served us a hookah at the table with a smile on his lips, saving the honor of the service. In short, Maki Maki is an experience that is somewhere between memories of teenage vacations and unexpected fun. Not for everyone, but if you're looking for music and a touch of the absurd, with the right mix of tequila shots, you might even come away satisfied.

05/08/2025: Very busy place — reservation is a must. The staff was excellent and service fast. The food is simple but good; the crab gnocchi were especially tasty. We shared both a starter and a main, yet the bill was similar to other places where we each had a full dish. Also, although the restaurant was supposed to offer a discount through our accommodation, it wasn't applied. I had clearly mentioned it both when booking and upon arrival, but the manager insisted I hadn't. Not a big deal, but a bit more flexibility would’ve been appreciated.

23/07/2025: Location antica, curata e carina. Personale gentilissimo. Piatti di pesce buonissimi e di qualità, prezzi ottimi. Consiglio la prenotazione in quanto c’è sempre parecchia gente.

11/08/2025: Grossa delusione!…siamo tornati vista l’ottima esperienza dell’estate precedente …polpettine di pesce che sapevano solo di patata sovrastate da un purè di piselli …spaghettini insapori con un po’ di arselle…prezzo esagerato per una cena così mediocre…peccato

13/08/2025: Location in need of renovation, very wobbly tables and uncomfortable chairs. Friendly staff, but extremely slow service. Average food, but overpriced considering we were supposed to get a 50% discount! Wouldn't it be normal to pay €120 for two starters and two main courses, without wine or dessert? We were also shocked to discover, upon payment, that in 2025, a restaurant in a tourist destination like Viareggio only accepts cash!!! NOT RECOMMENDED.

16/05/2025: The place is super cute, the location is convenient in front of the park for children...but it's expensive unfortunately, and the spritz we ordered were practically water. A space that should be used to the fullest..with quality snacks and music.. For the summer I hope they improve the pet management to enjoy it to the fullest!

06/04/2025: Children's playground. Quiet and well kept in an absolutely pleasant area.

19/08/2025: A wonderful hotel! The staff is super friendly. We felt very welcome here. They did everything for us, including our 2 young kids, with a big smile. We had a nice, clean and big room and the swimming pool and spa were lovely. The restaurant is really great too. Great food, great view and again great service. They serve a nice aperitivo as well! In short, we had a wonderful stay here and we highly recommend this hotel!

16/08/2025: Tourist trap? We saw the menu online and it looked interesting, but when they seated us they apologized that the menu wasn't the same. It was scaled down because they had two other events below. We chose two dishes; the lobster entree had gone up to €100. Was it worth it? Absolutely, dishes you can find in other restaurants for a quarter of the price. I was expecting gourmet fare, but it was anything but.

19/07/2025: Cibo buono ma ho cenato da sola nonostante fossimo in coppia. Arriva il mio antipasto e dopo 15 Min quello del mio compagno. Poi arriva il mio piatto principale e mezz'ora dopo quello del mio compagno...per me queste cose sono inaccettabili. Non tornerò, ovviamente

15/07/2025: Il locale è posto sulla passeggiata a mare, in posizione strategica dal punto di vista della visibilità, e si presenta molto bene, con tavoli ordinati e ben apparecchiati. Il nostro è stato un pranzo veloce, perché eravamo in transito e la lunga percorrenza che ancora ci attendeva quel giorno non consigliava di fare un pasto impegnativo. Giudicare un ristorante sulla base delle semplici insalate che abbiamo consumato mi pare ingiusto, però va detto che nel loro genere ci sono parse tutto sommato deludenti, non fosse altro per il rapporto qualità-prezzo... Dato comunque che l'ambiente risulta attraente, ci torneremo, magari per provare la pizza e i piatti di pesce.

20/07/2025: Terrible. We arrived around 9:15 PM and ordered drinks, which were served after over half an hour. It took another half hour for them to come take our orders. The food arrived in very large batches, so much so that the last pizzas arrived around 11:30 PM (they repeatedly forgot what kind they were). To add insult to injury, they were already ready on the counter, but no one was bringing them to us, so two of our friends went to get them instead of the waiters. Terrible organization. If you don't know how to manage a large room, choose fewer tables.

20/04/2025: Siamo stati a Pasqua 2025 in questo ristorante , vi posso dire da amante del pesce fresco che qui non c’è nulla di fresco , servizio pessimo , lenti e scoordinati, prezzi per un menù fisso esagerati per la qualità del cibo !

18/08/2025: The bathroom is reached by going behind the counter by climbing a certain number of steps. The bathroom is upstairs, which for a disabled person like a wheelchair is not exactly easy, however I decide to try anyway, then given the difficulty I give up and passing in front of the waiter who had served us I hear him say "you'll piss at home". I then decide to go and look for another bar and ask to pay by showing the credit card and the same waiter tells me that I have to go inside to pay. When I complained that they didn't have a portable POS he replied so they told me to do it.

16/08/2025: On a blisteringly hot day in the beautiful city of Lucca, I suddenly had a profound realization: I need to make a brown ashtray quickly. Luckily, the San Michele bar was just 10 meters away, and as I walked in, the bar's heroes let me experience the personal restroom. What fantastic service! In that moment, I set my personal best for my best brownie ever. The restroom I was able to use was a divine sensation in itself, and I'm infinitely grateful to the heroic staff at the magnificent bar, giving it 5 stars.

04/08/2025: I've been going to Santa Maria since it opened. The last time I was there was two days ago, Saturday, August 2nd, for dinner, and it proved to be a guarantee for both the quality of the food and the courtesy of the staff! Top!

28/07/2025: I've been to this restaurant only once, a while ago, and I have fond memories of it: refined cuisine, elegant atmosphere, warm welcome... except for the paper tablecloths given the setting (XD), but that's just my opinion. I'm not writing this review out of personal interest, but because, reading the four one-star comments posted by the same table, I felt it was right to express a different opinion. It's absolutely legitimate to report a negative experience—in fact, it's useful and part of the equation. But doing so four times for a single incident risks becoming a punitive action, rather than constructive criticism. Stumbles can happen even in the best places, and those who work in the industry know that you can't always have everything under control. But a little restraint is good for everyone, customers and restaurateurs alike. I hope the managers—who I know are like family—will deal with these situations with patience. And I hope all of us, perhaps, will use our comments to tell stories, not to attack.
