17/10/2025: It was so busy we had to sit upstairs; tried the soup which was delicious - will be back for breakfast tomorrow as the pastries, fruit (figs, apricots, dates etc) looked so inviting - yum

07/10/2025: I've tried it several times for lunch and it's always been a pleasant experience, a simple choice for an unusual lunch. I've tried the spaghetti with clams several times and it's always excellent. The restaurant's strong point is definitely the extensive wine list at very reasonable prices. The service is friendly and attentive.

02/11/2025: We went here for dinner during Lucca Comics and Games. The dining room was obviously full, and the atmosphere was warm and welcoming, and not at all noisy despite the crowd. We ate really well; the ingredients were of excellent quality and were put to good use by the kitchen. The waiters were friendly, although the only small drawback was the half-hour wait for our order (only one waiter took orders for two dining rooms). This was more than compensated for by the speed with which the kitchen brought out the dishes! For two appetizers, two first courses, two desserts, and wine, the total cost was €80. Highly recommended; if we ever return to the area, it will be one of our go-to places! A small personal note for the restaurant owner: the tartare was so high-quality that the cucumbers somewhat overshadowed the flavor of the meat. Personally, it would have been perfect with just the sauce and the excellent capers!

17/10/2025: Everything was great, the location and the food were exceptional. I only have one comment or suggestion I'd like to make based on experience, and I hope the management doesn't mind. But if the dining room is empty and a single guest arrives, who is 99% of the time in the area for work—and I think that's understandable—rather than stuffing him between an affectionate couple and a couple of close, slightly noisy friends... maybe it's better to find him a more secluded spot, so he can perhaps make a phone call home or to a friend while he waits.

06/11/2025: Excellent little shop where you can find a butcher with people who really know their stuff, typical Garfagnana products, and a wonderful selection of ready meals....⬆️⬆️⬆️

05/11/2025: An excellent experience! The venue is charming and meticulously maintained, ideal for a special evening. The cuisine is top-notch: the rib-eye steak was simply delicious, and the pasta dish was also exquisite. The service was impeccable and professional, without a single flaw. Highly recommended! We'll be back soon to try the rest of the menu.

06/10/2025: I arrived quite late for lunch and asked if I cld still be seated. They were happy to serve me. The meal was very nice. Well cooked starter and pasta. I also enjoyed my mixed salad, which had not only tomato and carrots, but also actually mixed salad leaves. When I saw the person at the next table had peas I asked if I cld have them too and was promptly served a bowl. Nice selection of home made puddings. The other guests were all Italian, which in general is a good sign.

12/10/2025: We wanted to go out for pizza, but I don't know if it was my Napoli jersey that didn't go down well or the fact that we're French, but at 6:30 p.m. we were turned away on the pretext that it was full for that evening. We walked past it again two hours later, and there was someone sitting at a table on the terrace. ????

09/10/2025: I'd been there before for dinner with friends. The appetizer was delicious and the pizza was excellent (I ordered the Picasso pizza). I highly recommend the babà for dessert. The staff was friendly and the service was quick. We went during the week. The atmosphere was clean and very nice.

17/11/2025: Hospitality and quality. The restaurant has limited seating (at least in this season, autumn), so booking in advance is recommended. We felt right at home; the food and wine were truly top-quality. I highly recommend stopping here to try their specialties.

21/10/2025: A very simple restaurant near the splendid church of San Cassiano di Controne, above Bagni di Lucca. They bring whatever has been cooked that day, and you eat on a lovely terrace, with no choice. The fixed menu is €25. We started with warm focaccia and continued with meat tortelli, tagliolini with mushrooms, mixed roasts, French fries, and a selection of fried mushrooms, plus dessert and coffee. The first courses were generous and of good quality. The second course left something to be desired: the mixed roasts were sliced ​​very thin, like prosciutto. It's true that they come back to ask if they need more, but slices more suited to a roast would have been appreciated. The French fries are standard, and the fried mushrooms are good, but as mentioned, they were just a sample. Overall, recommended for anyone passing through. I'm not sure I'd go there specifically to visit.

31/10/2025: An authentic restaurant with friendly service. We ate there several times because it was simply delicious. The wine list is extensive and leaves nothing to be desired. Highly recommended.

25/10/2025: To taste something different from the usual menus at Forte. Excellent meats and excellent wines. Must try!!
