23/04/2026: Simple service, generous portions, a charming retro atmosphere, more than fair prices, and above all, excellent food—the tordelli in particular were special. Homemade cuisine, the kind that fills you up and makes you want to come back. There's no menu, you just eat what's on offer, which is bound to be excellent, just like grandma's! There should be more places like this.

25/01/2026: My wife and I went for dinner and I was truly thrilled with the quality/price ratio of the dishes offered... impeccable service, very professional and attentive to the needs of the guests, a truly skilled chef, which can be seen in the care he takes in the presentation of the dishes... we started with a tasting of three appetizers to choose from and a special mention goes to the truly exquisite fish meatballs and the eggplant roll stuffed with shrimp and mint, a delight for the palate... then we tried mezze maniche with fresh tuna and spectacular cherry tomatoes... then we had for the main course two slices of fresh tuna, truly exquisite... all washed down with an excellent Valdobbiadene prosecco, as for desserts, the artisanal rum semifreddo deserves a special mention, truly excellent... it was the first time we came to this restaurant even though I had seen it hundreds of times passing by, it was truly a pleasant surprise... highly recommended, we will definitely be back, well done, truly congratulations to all the staff

06/06/2026: Ristorante Giglio one of the best restaurants for me so far, I was in a training at Giglio for a long period and I was very well received. The food was special, made with dedication and passion, the staff was very friendly, the atmosphere was calm. One of my best experiences was there, where the Chefs: Stefano, Benedeto and Lorenzo were the best 👌

02/06/2026: This was our second time here. First time was 7 years ago and was much better. This time the service was awful. The guy who served our table didn’t offer a wine list and took our food order first and when I asked him about the wine list he said he’ll bring it after the food order is placed as if it was a normal practice. I tried their Menu a Mano Libero for €65 which included three random appetizers + a choice of main + desert. My wife ordered one main a la carte and two french fries for the kids. If we were to order the exact same items from the menu a la carte, the total cost would be €107. They gave us a check for €130 for food, which was adjusted down after I brought up the concern but followed by some rude explanation from the server. I’ve never received a desert which was supposed to be included in the Menu a Mano Libero. When we tried ordering a second round of french fries or some other version of potatoes, the server refused claiming the chef will not do it because it’s too late (was around 14:30) and it will take 30 minutes to make (first order of fries took 20 minutes at most). Overall poor service considering the Michelin designation. Aside from service, we were disappointed by the dated interior as nothing was invested in the restaurant over the past 7 years, some decor elements have disappeared. It’s not a very pleasant atmosphere and I wouldn’t be back.

06/04/2026: We had lunch with friends in a very simple restaurant with an outdoor veranda. The first courses were delicious: Lucchese tordelli with ragu and macaroni with wild boar. The second courses were excellent: sliced ​​beef, fried chicken, and rabbit. And to finish, the typical Lucchese torte coi becchi. Water, wine, and coffee, all for €40.

23/02/2026: A very simple and charming place. A very homely cuisine where you can enjoy local dishes, definitely freshly cooked. In the winter, the upstairs dining room has a wonderful fireplace that's always lit. The food is very good, some dishes could perhaps be improved, but the value is excellent! Fair prices, €30 per person for a hearty meal. It must be lovely in the summer too, with the outdoor terrace.

08/04/2026: Food to die for - which you might do getting there if you are not careful as the roads are incredibly steep and twisty. But make the effort as wonderful food, incredible views, lovely friendly staff, and very good value at €12 for the set menu (two courses wine and coffee!!!!)

05/05/2026: Excellent place for both quality and ambiance. The service was also excellent. I was a little disappointed that they took away my favorite sandwich (the one with peppers, ham, and mayo). I return every time I'm in Lucca. Excellent value for money.

10/05/2026: I've been frequenting this restaurant for years, and it's my go-to place for a delicious plate of chestnut-filled maltagliati and a rare fillet steak with fried mushrooms. I've known the owners for a long time, and every time I return, I'm delighted to discover the combination of family hospitality and professionalism that is the true strength of this corner of Alta Versilia. As a true Versilian, I highly recommend it, and I'm proud of it!

10/05/2026: A pleasant surprise....out and about on our motorcycle, we stopped for a sandwich and instead...an amazing house appetizer, endless appetizers, super cold cuts, excellent and fast service, low prices.....definitely as soon as we're back in the area, we'll make a few detours to return....
