01/06/2025: We went to this place based on all the glowing reviews, but thought it was just ok. Service was great and the atmosphere was quaint and typical fun Italian, but the food was very, very average. We had cod, two different pastas, and risotto, but all were bland and fairly tasteless. It was so strange as many other restaurants we’ve been to in Cortona were amazing.

15/06/2025: We went to the restaurant during a visit to Sansepolcro. Very good food. Cool place despite the heat outside. Particularly appreciated the presence of gluten-free options, for which they normally require a reservation but which they served us even though we had not booked.

01/06/2025: Small but very pleasant restaurant... Few places synonymous with better customer care ☺️ Spectacular food... Extraordinary fried porcini mushrooms...light, not too salty. Amazing Fiorentina, obviously rare, it melted in the mouth.. All accompanied by a red Montepulciano Homemade desserts made by them and delicious... And what can I say... If I were to pass by these parts again I will definitely come back to stop by here

21/06/2025: A place discovered today, which has rightfully become part of our top trattorias! Super welcoming place, which corresponds in all respects to the typical Tuscan trattoria, where those who want to eat well "like once upon a time" in a rustic setting feel at home. And we were really happy to see the place full of locals, a sign of quality and coherence with local traditions. Since it was a quick lunch we decided to order à la carte instead of opting for the inviting 25 euro menu where there was really everything. We had some really amazing first courses: enormous portions, well seasoned with traditional sauces such as wild boar, rabbit and lampredotto, plated in a very elegant way. Very good house wine, served in typical flasks, a must for the "Il Fiasco" tavern. Finally, special pastry desserts (lemon and cappuccino delight). Kind and friendly staff. Very honest prices: less than 20 euros per person! Congratulations on everything, places like these are the protected oasis of Italian culinary tradition.

08/06/2025: Cortona is a charming town in Umbria on the border with Tuscany. It is located on a high mountain. The main street is charming and everything is open even on Sunday. The ice cream there is some of the best ice cream I have ever eaten.

29/06/2025: Baccaleria was a pleasant discovery. The place is basically a wooden veranda. But the dishes, all fish-based and all cooked very well, make you believe you are in a kiosk by the sea, not on the outskirts of a shopping center. The service was quite fast, but not immediate. And this is also a good sign, because it means that the food is prepared on the spot and there are few frozen things. You absolutely have to try the fried cod (maybe with a salad, rather than with potatoes). I have never eaten better cod. And then perfectly clean (without bones and skin). To have more (3 pieces were not enough for me) I also had it fried with anchovies, to which I also added calamari, just to make sure I didn't miss anything. I would have had seconds of calamari too, but the anchovies had a rather heavy breading, of egg and breadcrumbs, which prevented me from doing so. If the anchovies had been just floured, they would have been perfect too.. to conclude this fish-based lunch (pity they are not open in the evening).. I took a sandwich with octopus tentacles, burrata, chopped pistachios and, instead of guacamole, green sauce.. which is one of my favorite sauces and I would have liked more of it.. anyway, the octopus was very tender, the best I have eaten.. the cook, Sofia, is young, but has grit and character to sell.. and I am sure that she will make people talk about herself in the kitchen, if these are the premises..

22/05/2025: BEST gelato ive had in Italy! so authentic, the pistachio flavor was divine and the banana was certainly made with real banana (even had slices of banana in it). upfront and cheap prices, kind staff (they knew english which was helpful as a tourist), and all around great vibes. i will miss this place when i go home. yas
