21/12/2025: Located in the village of Moggiona, at the gateway to the Casentino Forests, just a few kilometers from the mystical Camaldoli hermitage, Mater welcomed us in its winter garb, with a roaring fireplace and a menu that demonstrated, not only on paper but also on the palate, great sensitivity, knowledge, respect for ingredients and technique, balance, and above all, a connection with nature and the forest. Marta and the waiters provided us with a warm and attentive welcome, providing timely advice and guidance on the dishes, menu and wine selections, as well as descriptions that gave depth and history to the dishes. The chefs, bustling like busy bees in the open kitchen, prepared dishes with layered and balanced flavors, reawakening memories, connections, and emotions, delicately and profoundly, in a journey of awareness of the land, the forest, our origins, and the unique characteristics of the region. Also greatly appreciated is the rediscovery and valorization of "humble" ingredients (acorns, for example), which were often a fundamental addition to our grandparents' diets during less prosperous periods of history and which here become a source of wealth and gratitude. 15/12/2025: It was a magical and intimate evening. Fate granted us the chance to book the last available table for two. There was no special occasion to celebrate, but it quickly became one thanks to the fabulous service and dishes. All the combinations were perfect; we had a couple of appetizers, two first courses, and then two desserts. We were served a small entrée to begin with, which already hinted at the beginning of a journey of precise and flavorful flavors, without too much hesitation. We paired it all with an excellent Montefalco red, dessert with the Muffato wine from the dining room, and to finish, a good barrique grappa. Excellent value for money. The only downside was the truffle, which we weren't particularly thrilled with, but it's still definitely 5 stars. It's a formal, yet warm and welcoming place where I hope to return soon. 😊

30/11/2025: I had the opportunity to spend an evening enjoying the spa with an overnight stay and dinner in this magnificent place immersed in the nature of Castiglion Fiorentino, enjoying the excellent hospitality and tasting an extraordinary dinner taken care of down to the smallest detail accompanied by extraordinary staff.. I highly recommend it to everyone.. I will definitely be back ❤️ ❤️ ❤️

23/11/2025: We stayed over the weekend of November 21st to November 23rd. My partner and I were amazed by the beauty of the place, the cleanliness, organization, and professionalism of the staff. We spent these days in the "Capannina" accommodation, a little love nest that we recommend to all couples. Enrico and Valentina are two fantastic people, super kind and always available to answer any questions or requests. Nothing else to say, we can't wait to go back!!!

Even the toilet was all decorated but with an exceptional taste, not to mention how we ate divinely well. The staff were very kind and especially the lady who was incredibly friendly. I will definitely be back.

The seafood appetizer was fresh and tasty, the seafood paccheri and scampi ravioli were truly delicious and beautifully presented. The light and crispy fried fish was the icing on the cake. Service was fast, attentive, and very attentive. Highly recommended! 🌟🍽️

06/10/2025: This restaurant is nestled in one of the most photographed alleys in Cortona and represents everything you think about Italy, character, beauty, and uniqueness. The food and drinks are all prepared to the highest quality and originality. Vegetarian entrees elevated on both flavor profile and plating. The creativity of each entree are truly noteworthy. There were six in our party which allowed for each of us to try a different option and share with each other. My favorite is the tartare, both visually and taste profile, it's fireworks on a plate, it just makes you happy looking at it and eating it continues that happiness. I highly recommend this restaurant for your consideration.
