I'm torn between 4 and 5 stars because the spaghetti frutti di mare dish was really delicious and had plenty of mussels, clams, and squid... but €2 per person for a cover charge seems unnecessary (I think you can claim it according to EU law, but this time I decided to enjoy it without getting angry). We didn't go inside the restaurant, but we sat directly on the terrace (a section of sidewalk separated by low panels). It seems like a place with its own style and good food.

20/06/2025: Excellent food: caponata, Sicilian salad, anchovies and pasta, and the homemade dessert (tiramisu and canolata). All delicious. Professional and friendly service. We sat on the terrace and enjoyed a lovely after-dinner conversation, listening to Italian music and chatting with two of the sisters. We highly recommend this restaurant, located in beautiful Ortigia.

25/06/2025: A beautiful experience at Chapeau with wonderful fish dishes, I recommend the ravioli with grouper filling and the super abundant swordfish, with super good appetizers of excellent quality, from a true Neapolitan Chapeau, not to mention the owner and his daughter, exquisite people who make you feel at home, I would recommend them immediately.

24/06/2025: On our last evening in Sicily we made the best choice for dinner! Delicious food, the taste of home cooking, family atmosphere, for sure if we come to Avola again we will definitely come back!

06/07/2025: We only ordered 2 dishes and a bottle of wine. The wine was delicious, the pasta was also excellent, but unfortunately the octopus was awful, it was ok on its own, but the sauce was something awful. Service 10/10, very nice

06/07/2025: Beautiful place very characteristic, menu and wine list written by hand, with beautiful calligraphy, very characteristic. The quality of the raw materials is exceptional, the fish is excellent but as if something was missing an emotion a sensation. I recommend it but without too many expectations.

24/06/2025: I'll start by saying that I'm from Umbria, I booked this place thinking it was a restaurant. It's actually a wine shop in all respects. Initially I wasn't really convinced, but I had to change my mind. Typical local cuisine cooked by real Sicilians and not by foreigners as many local places are used to. Simple but genuine dishes, cooked with skill. I was pleasantly surprised. The owner is professional but at the same time easy-going, he immediately made us feel at ease. I don't know if I'll have the chance to return, but I highly recommend it!

22/06/2025: Two words: Incredibly delicious! Incredibly good antipasti, good wine, and very friendly service. The chef came to our table after the meal and asked if we enjoyed our meal. If you want to eat delicious antipasti in Ortigia, this is the place to go.

Pasta with sauce and chicken slice with chips for the children were good. Very good desserts. Special mention for the blancmange and the decomposed cannolo. Highly recommended

25/06/2025: It's a shame we only discovered this restaurant on the last night of our stay in Ortigia. Otherwise we would have bought a subscription. Very kind and professional staff. The chef himself gave us the right advice on dishes that we found excellent. The spaghetti with sea urchin were superb, the seared tuna with caramelized onion and pistachio grains was fantastic. The Chardonnay by the glass was excellent! Gentlemen, if you are staying in Ortigia you can't miss it!

12/07/2025: We had the Sicilian piada and were very pleased. The one with anchovies and Sicilian cheese was excellent, while the one with tuna and cherry tomatoes was good, but you could taste the oil from the canned tuna, so it didn't taste as good. The piadas are reasonably priced, but we stayed a while, and with drinks, coffee, and the 10% service charge, the price became the same as at a restaurant. The owner and his wife are very kind and friendly.

11/07/2025: Nestled in a quiet alleyway on the island, Cala Piada will immediately captivate you with its intimate and authentic atmosphere, far from the tourist crowds. A great alternative to traditional restaurants, where the passion for piadinas is fully expressed.
