08/04/2026: Excellent food, quiet atmosphere, perhaps not very suitable for small children, but still very welcome. It remains my favorite in Ortigia.

07/04/2026: The overall experience ranged from mediocre to disappointing. The food was "acceptable," but far from what one would expect seeing the place decorated with Michelin Guide stickers from 2011 to 2023. More than a guarantee, they resemble a museum of past glories. As of today, it feels more like a tourist trap than a restaurant that lives up to that history. The atmosphere upon arrival was, to say the least, peculiar. Part of the team was sitting at a table with what appeared to be acquaintances, then they served with an almost admirably… frenetic energy. Before the standard response of "we have many 5-star reviews" or "if you didn't like it, you should have left it on your plate," let me preempt you: a bad experience isn't invalidated by statistics, and paying for service doesn't obligate you to stage a scene to validate your opinion. The saying "one flower doesn't make a summer" is true, but when the garden has been neglected for a long time, we're no longer talking about a single flower. In our case, the disappointment was enough to leave our plates half-eaten, our wine practically untouched, and skip dessert altogether. It wasn't an isolated incident, but rather a series of signs that suggest the current level of service doesn't live up to the image they try to project. Summary - Edible and decent food, nothing special - The waitresses were lovely. The rest of the staff was peculiar.

21/03/2026: Sicily is famous not only for its stunning sea and dreamy landscapes, but also for its extraordinary cuisine. During summer vacations, it's almost natural to search for the best restaurants to sample typical local dishes. After trying several places in Noto, Ortigia, Marzamemi, and other towns, I never imagined that my absolute favorite would be La Capannina. It's a family-run trattoria, passed down from generation to generation, where passion and dedication are passed down with it. Every dish we tasted was simply exceptional: authentic flavors, quality ingredients, and a cuisine that truly captivates. Even the pizza is amazing, so much so that it can compete with those of the best Neapolitan pizza makers. And then the cannoli... without a doubt the best I've ever had in Sicily: light, delicate, delicious, or perhaps indescribable, you have to try it!! A place worth the trip. I would return to Sicily just to eat at this extraordinary trattoria again.

25/11/2025: We had lunch at Ivan and Rossana's and immediately felt like we were among friends. But the biggest surprise was the quality of the delicious horsemeat sandwiches. I was also impressed by the cleanliness, order, and attention to detail shown—not something you'll take for granted. If you're in Syracuse, you absolutely have to visit.

02/01/2026: We arrived at the restaurant without a reservation! Somehow, this was the best time! It was full in a few minutes! We got a table so we could have lunch! We chose excellently prepared swordfish! It was all local guests! The service was nice, friendly, familiar! I'm glad we found them!

The dishes are prepared with quality ingredients and showcase Sicilian tradition with a touch of creativity. Everything is delicious and beautifully presented. Attentive and friendly service, the staff are helpful and always smiling. Excellent value for money. A highly recommended stop for anyone visiting the area who wants to eat well in a pleasant atmosphere. We had pizza as an appetizer and ravioli as a first course, truly delicious. We'll definitely be back!

26/05/2026: A Milanese chef who has found a new home in Ortigia, a cuisine with incredible ingredients that has found new ways to be enhanced in the hands and culture of the chef. Super-efficient service without losing any of the Sicilian warmth, an excellent wine cellar, and a series of attentions and pampering—starting with the bread—that are hard to forget.

Tempted by the ordering staff's suggestions, I chose one of their current favorites: the Mediterranean pizza. A unique pizza with blue dough and seafood, a fitting tribute to the azure sea of ​​our beloved island. 08/03/2026: I'm writing this review while I'm still inside the restaurant. My wife and I didn't have the best experience. The staff was friendly, nothing to complain about, the location is beautiful, and the food was delicious. The problem is the food itself. We sat for about an hour. We ordered 40 dishes, and only 7 arrived (an all-you-can-eat order). They bring them out two at a time, every 15 minutes. We weren't eating anything. I have nothing to complain about the food, which is delicious, but unfortunately, spending €40 for a small meal isn't the best thing for an all-you-can-eat restaurant. We tried it, but we were disappointed. I'm giving it 2 stars for the food we tried, especially since we didn't get to try anything special. I hope they improve.
