18/12/2025: I don't know if it can really offer more. I go every now and then for group needs. But I still don't like it. I got the salad because the sandwiches are increasingly poor quality. Poor and not very good ingredients, so-so meat inside. The salad could be decent if they didn't leave the tomatoes whole, having cutlery not suitable for cutting the cubes, not even for the salad. Poor dressing, a package of three breadsticks for two, we had to ask for more. Then if you do the math in the end, it's better to go to a restaurant or bar/lunch and eat a menu or even just a plate of good pasta and you'll be much better off. Reheated fries 😔. Poor cleanliness.

28/06/2025: Enttäuschendes Erlebnis im Ca’del Re – nie wieder! Unser Besuch im Ca’del Re war leider ein Reinfall auf ganzer Linie. Trotz vorheriger Reservierung wurde uns der gewünschte Tisch einfach nicht zugewiesen – keinerlei Entschuldigung, keine Lösung, einfach Ignoranz. Besonders ärgerlich war die vollkommen unflexible Haltung des Servicepersonals: Wir waren zu viert und wollten gerne zwei Menüs teilen, was in vielen guten Restaurants absolut üblich ist. Nicht so hier. Uns wurde unmissverständlich mitgeteilt, dass jeder ein komplettes Menü bestellen müsse – kein Entgegenkommen, kein Verständnis, nur starre Regeln, die offenbar vor allem dazu dienen, möglichst viel Geld aus den Gästen zu pressen. Das Ganze wirkte wie reine Touristenabzocke. Wer nicht bereit ist, sich auf Gäste einzulassen und stattdessen nur Umsatz maximieren will, hat unser Geld und unsere Zeit nicht verdient. Fazit: Das Ca’del Re lebt vielleicht von seiner Lage, aber sicher nicht von Gastfreundschaft oder Servicekultur. Wir kommen ganz sicher nicht wieder – und raten jedem, der Wert auf ein angenehmes kulinarisches Erlebnis legt, dringend ab.

03/06/2025: Sono stata con la famiglia in questo posto splendido per festeggiare il mio compleanno: scelto totalmente a scatola chiusa, è stata una vera rivelazione! Abbiamo pranzato in giardino, sotto un grande ciliegio, il personale è stato da subito cordiale e pronto per ogni esigenza ( abbiamo una bimba piccola). Menù sia tradizionale che più sperimentale: provati entrambi, impeccabili su tutta la linea! Prezzo nella media della zona ed equo per la qualità del cibo e del servizio.

19/07/2025: It's a shame you can't give less than one star. I called a little while ago to reserve a table for tomorrow. A lady answered, very hastily, and told me they were having a baptism and there would be an à la carte menu (obviously, we weren't among the guests at the event). She also very hastily said, "Anyway, ma'am, I'll call you back later because I have people over now," and hung up without even saying goodbye. Now, I'll never be able to review the food service because I'll never set foot in this place, but I'd like to tell this lady that perhaps she doesn't remember working in front of the public, and perhaps it's not the right job for her.

02/11/2025: The pasta tasted artificial. The pizza was edible. I certainly won't eat there again.

27/10/2025: An Italian family business that could have come straight out of a commercial. Unobtrusive, human. We felt at home right away and—after trying several top-rated restaurants—went back to this one. It was simply the best (for us). The food was fantastic, the house wine delicious, and I'd come back more often for the espresso (€1.50 at your table). Speaking of prices: pizzas around €10 (large!), 1/4 liter of house wine €5 (or 3? It doesn't matter, it's good value). The only problem is that every other pizza I've had for a while has spoiled it. I've never had such a wafer-thin yet firm base, and the crust was airy and crispy.

29/07/2025: Viajando con un grupo de 33 personas, cenamos en este atractivo restaurante anoche. Pasando por el comedor principal hacia atrás hay un comedor al aire libre con plantas y arbustos. El servicio fue rápido y eficiente. Empezamos con una ensalada mixta, que tenía muchos trozos de tomate. Lo siguiente fue muy buen risotto de hongos, y una galette de queso y espinacas. Me hubiera gustado tener algo de guarnición en el plato.

20/07/2025: Certo, non sarà il Grand Hotel Et Des Iles Borromees, ma se cercate un buon alberghetto tranquillo, in pieno centro a Stresa, a 3 minuti a piedi dal lago e dall'imbarcadero, con camere essenziali ma pulitissime e perfettamente insonorizzate con bagno con sanitari rinnovati, e letto supercomodo, il Fiorentino fa per voi. Molto gentili il signor Federico e i suoi collaboratori, pronti a soddisfare ogni necessità; convenzionale, ma con prodotti di qualità dolci e salati (veramente ottime le marmellate) la colazione, con bevande calde espresse direttamente dal bar. Prezzo nella norma. Possibilità di usufruire di un ottimo servizio ristorante (che ho già valutato positivamente in passato).

25/11/2025: It's a Tuesday evening, and we can't book because there's a receptionist. We go anyway, and a young woman greets us and makes it clear we're not welcome. Even though we mentioned the phone problem, she didn't bother to figure out what might have happened. I've never felt so unwelcome. Never again.

21/06/2025: Restaurant found by chance, trusting the reviews. Small place but with the availability of the outdoor area. It is different from the "too modern" restaurants but honestly I appreciated it for this! One of the few restaurants that still retains the beauty of a rustic style. I found it very welcoming and quiet. The menu gives the possibility to choose between Chinese, Japanese and pizzas. I went with my boyfriend, I ordered Chinese and Japanese while he took a pizza and it was all very good, we had a good time. The staff was kind and the dishes arrived immediately. Excellent value for money!! ❤️

14/06/2025: Shameful! We have often ordered from them and they are always and I mean always late. This evening they exceeded the limit. After having brought us a totally wrong order intended for others, exactly one hour later they called us telling us that they could not deliver anything because the pizza dough had run out. At 10 pm we had nothing to eat. And they “justified” themselves by saying: “this is how it goes for tonight, we will not deliver anymore” Really shameful!
