27/10/2025: Had dinner our first evening in Baveno…we were staying at the Hotel Dino for a conference. My daughter and I didn’t have high expectations but were rather prioritizing the convenience!
We were pleasantly surprised. We were warmly greeted and had immediate service. It was quiet as it was early by European dining standards at 7pm but over the course of our dinner filled in.
We had an attentive and yummy experience. We ended the evening with their delicious tiramisu…we would return our final evening to have this dessert again!

05/01/2026: The best in Sestriere, where you can enjoy excellent pizza, polenta, and much more. They also offer excellent aperitifs with a wide variety of cocktails and a vast and impressive wine cellar, both in terms of quality and selection. Definitely worth a try!

04/08/2025: Restaurant with a charming little room. Good food with excellent antipasti. Michettin salati with fried pizza dough served hot: a delight with typical ham and mozzarella. A very good piece of grilled beef on a cast iron plate and a very healthy and hearty Greek salad. Dessert with nougat parfait and iced coffee. A very good Sunday experience!

The Strambino Bistro is a pleasant discovery for those who love well-made burgers as well as grilled meat. In addition to the tasty sandwiches, I tried the mutton arrosticini: tender, flavorful, and well-cooked. You can tell they use local, quality ingredients. The place is clean and tidy, and the staff is friendly. A lovely local restaurant where you can eat truly well.
I give it 4 stars, but I'll gladly return: the fifth is close!

16/11/2025: A truly fantastic place! I go there often for both breakfast and lunch and am never disappointed! The girls are always prompt, fast, and kind. The owner is always available and smiling, which is not always a given!

14/01/2026: We arrived at 3 pm, the restaurant was quiet. The woman inside told us she could only serve us pizzas. We accepted. They served us kindly, even though it was late. And with a smile. Thank you to the team for accommodating us late; the pizzas were delicious!
07/01/2026: The place is in a wonderful location which however takes advantage of both the price level and the dishes.

25/10/2025: Old review: Exquisite dishes also suitable for vegans, a restaurant that has always been family-run with a pleasant atmosphere.
Update:
There are some drawbacks I'm noticing after years of frequenting this restaurant:
- the atmosphere has faded; I've noticed the staff have become dull;
- the tables used to be beautifully set in true Chinese style, and I was sad to see them gone;
- the dishes are always the same, even though they're good; there's nothing new.

24/01/2026: Classic-style rooms, slightly uncomfortable beds, and too noisy air conditioning.
26/08/2025: The owner was unfriendly (I didn't feel welcome). My room smelled of stale smoke, and there were holes in the towels and sheets. The breakfast was barely adequate. Poor value for money. It's a shame; the hotel has a nice atmosphere, but everything else is lacking.

06/10/2025: An honest pizzeria with an unmodern atmosphere, but a good wood-fired oven. Service is fair, friendly, and experienced. Overall, it's okay for a pizza; you can eat it. If you want a nice place, go elsewhere. The Fork discount was applied correctly.
26/09/2025: Nothing exceptional, really. The perfect definition: I'd say it's a mediocre place. The pizza was pretty watered down.
The wait was quite long.
Honestly, I wouldn't go back.

26/12/2025: The bar is really nice, with a great location and super friendly owners: they definitely deserve five stars! Most of the staff are also very helpful.
Unfortunately, today we had problems with one waitress in particular: she saw us several times without coming to take our order, something that has happened before, resulting in a long wait. For her service, I'd give her zero stars. Fortunately, another very friendly waiter served us attentively and willingly: five stars to him!
I'm sorry to point this out, because the place truly deserves it, but it would be helpful if all the staff were as attentive as the others. Overall, it remains one of the best bars in the city and I definitely recommend it.
22/11/2025: Nice bar. We had a good savory sandwich and focaccia for breakfast, but the cake wasn't so great. I think they could use a larger display case so we could choose what to order.

An interpretation of Piedmontese cuisine good for tourists with sloppy and slow service.
The dishes aren't up to par, especially the tajarin with 30 egg yolks, a pale, deathly white color.
If I return, it will be for the location.
17/08/2025: Enchanting location. Excellent food, with extremely thoughtful and meticulous presentation. Exceptional service, despite the scorching heat, was not only for us but also for our dogs. Well done!
