The food was excellent — we ordered the pizza, the onion and beef pasta, and a mussel dish, and every single one was divine. You could truly taste the care and quality in each bite. The restaurant is family-run, and the atmosphere reflects that in the best way — warm, friendly, and welcoming. 17/06/2025: Confermo tutte le recensioni negative precedenti (tutto riscontrato), ho mangiato una pizza "Frutti di Mare", oltre all'impasto che sembrava decongelato il pesce sopra consisteva in surimi e gamberetti in salamoia, ho dovuto aggiungere l'olio per insaporirla un pò dato anche lo scarso pomodoro. Ho avuto dolori di pancia per i 3 giorni consecutivi. Le bevande erano calde, le cameriere parlano poco italiano e sono vestite come capita. Malgrado il locale fosse praticamente vuoto abbiamo atteso quasi un'ora le ordinazioni mentre ci è stata messa ripetutamente fretta per il dolce e per il conto (non fanno conti separati) anche se erano solo le 22,30. Peccato per un locale così carino e che ha avuto un passato di splendore. Ma come dice il proverbio: chi troppo vuole nulla stringe...

06/07/2025: We had pizza, which was really delicious and, for the price, really reasonable for the place. It's not fancy, but it's pretty and typical. The service was very good and they really appreciated the tip, especially since we were happy to give it. Downstairs, we were able to watch how the suckling pig was being prepared for the evening. A really pleasant conversation with the chef rounded off the experience.

05/07/2025: As per tradition, every year it is a pleasure to spend an evening at the Porto Rotondo tavern, a very convenient restaurant for parking, very kind, polite and always available staff, good cuisine, excellent pizzas and desserts.

25/06/2025: My family and I were visiting the area for a few days and ended up eating here a number of times because we enjoyed it so much. The food was excellent, and perfectly priced, and the staff were lovely. The owner is a wonderful man, who chatted with us and shared stories from his life (e giardino!) while we waited - andrea your grappa and melanzane were buonissimo! Highly recommend this place, well definitely be back when we’re in the area. A presto, e grazie mille!

24/03/2025: Non posso fare una recensione sul cibo, però posso dire che sono stati veramente scortesi, perchè dopo aver telefonato più volte per confermare prenotazione inviato messaggi, arrivati davanti al ristorante di sabato sera alle 20:00 ristorante chiuso, ci possono essere milioni di motivi per tenere chiuso, ma obbligo avvertire le persone con la prenotazione, comportamento non accettabile, senza alcun rispetto.

06/04/2025: In un aprile che sembra gennaio siamo arrivati al posto di confine tra Stato pontificio e Regno Borbonico. Qui, da anni e con passione, viene preparata una ottima cucina del territorio, con grande fierezza. Abbiamo mangiato triglie marinate (splendide), insalata di mare tiepida (sapore molto buono), riso ai frutti di mare (grintoso), brodetto di pesce alla sanbenedettese (unico per tipicità) e un sorbetto al Montepulciano d’Abruzzo capace di fare digerire splendidamente il tutto. Pranzo in atmosfera accogliente, con servizio attento. Eravamo in tre (io, mio marito e il barboncino). Quello più coccolato è stato il barboncino. Quando una persona ama i cani e il suo lavoro, ha un grande cuore.

28/07/2025: The sea bass and mussels were excellent, both in quality and price. The fried calamari and octopus with potatoes were also good, even though they were frozen. The wait time was moderate. Reservations are recommended.

22/07/2025: Bella vista sul golfo di Praia a mare e sull'isola di Dino. Parcheggio interno e veranda all'aperto. Buoni i piatti di pesce un pò sopra la norma il prezzo. Personale cortese ed estremamente preparato, accettate i consigli sui fuori menù e sul vino. Ho assaggiato uno zibbibbo locale ottimo

18/07/2025: Non fermatevi alle stelle delle recensioni, magari è frutto di chi ha visto solo il conto. L'ambiente è romantico, il pesce è fresco e le porzioni super abbondanti. Il personale gentile e il proprietario alla mano. Per la qualità che offre i prezzi sono nella media degli altri ristoranti di pesce. Quindi super consigliato

20/07/2025: We had a great time in this hotel, its restaurant, the attentive staff, and my dog had a wonderful holiday in this hotel. The breakfast was great with a sea view. There are very few rooms, which is nice, we feel privileged. It's a shame that the air conditioning in the room was broken. We had another air conditioning unit, but it required opening the window. There's quite a bit of noise from the bar next door. I recommend it ☺️

18/07/2025: Not to be missed, both for the location and the food. Excellent fried fish and all seafood dishes. The staff is incredibly friendly and absolutely SARDINIAN!

14/07/2025: I'm sick of hearing the negative comments moaning. Of course, it's not super cheap, and of course, the food is good elsewhere too. And it's not a beach bar where you just walk in, sit down, and order a Coke (most of the negative comments are based on this misunderstanding). It's a classic dining restaurant that requires a reservation and a corresponding order of dishes, and where you pay for pane e coperto, even if you haven't eaten much. But anyone who comes here in the evening and sits on the terrace overlooking the sea, watching the sun go down, drinking a good white wine, and eating the bigoli in cassopipa, is very close to seventh heaven—but only if they haven't had an appetizer and have someone else with them ;-), otherwise, it's impossible. What's amazing to me is that despite this tourist hotspot character, the food is still very good, and the service is friendly and attentive. Update 5/25: We were here with a group of 10 friends (with a reservation, of course), agreed on a small menu for the whole group with the waiter (mixed fish and seafood appetizer, bigoli in cassopipa, dessert) and were more than satisfied with both the food and the price we paid.

06/07/2025: An absolute gem by the sea! The food was absolutely amazing – every dish was fresh, flavorful, and beautifully presented. The house white wine (Friulano) exceeded expectations and paired perfectly with the seafood. Great atmosphere, attentive service, and fair prices. If you’re in Trieste, do not skip this place – it’s a true local treasure!

28/07/2025: A truly welcoming place, with courteous, punctual, and very professional staff. The dishes were excellent, with the fish and seafood being incredibly fresh and expertly cooked. The desserts were also exquisite; I recommend the tiramisu and panna cotta. I'll definitely be back.

26/07/2025: The appetizers were very adequate, the first and second courses were complete and good. The dessert was excellent. The service could be greatly improved: stressed, rushed, and unfriendly. Unfortunately, we wouldn't return, so we wouldn't recommend it.
