25/11/2025: The place has a great atmosphere. The food portions are decent, though some of us (6 of us) were left half-eaten. We ordered pasta and fish (sea bass). Delicious. Unfortunately, we arrived before closing time (3 p.m.) and the dishes were undercooked. The pasta was too hard, and the potatoes served with the fish were also hard. Hence the only 3 stars. The service was okay.

16/02/2026: On Valentine's Day, we went to Giovanni's for lunch: we ordered mixed antipasti a la carte and a first course each. The appetizers were mediocre, nothing exceptional; we were disappointed. Although the fried food was golden and crispy, the calamari was rubbery. The eggplant caponata was good, which I hadn't expected in a seafood appetizer. Marinated and smoked anchovies from store-bought bags... but let's move on to the first courses: pasta with clams was completely dry, seemingly oily. The pasta with sea urchins was slightly better. We also ordered risottos: good flavor, but not at all creamy. The sauce was loose. Both the pasta and the rice were cooked perfectly. Dessert: excellent lemon sorbet, I don't know if it was homemade. Tart with cream: delicious cream, raw pastry, still moist on the inside, which, obviously, wasn't crunchy in the mouth but too creamy. The staff was very kind and helpful, and the atmosphere was nice and clean.

25/02/2026: The meatballs with lemon leaves and pork in sauce represent a perfect balance between tradition and the identity of the Giarre area. The citrusy note of the lemon leaves is not invasive, but works in the background, enhancing the natural sweetness of the pork and creating a distinctive aromatic signature. The same goes for the pork in sauce. Highly recommended.

21/02/2026: The place feels like home… The photos hanging there testify to the strong connection with Etna and Sicily! The pizza and meat are truly delicious… You have to try them! The service is excellent and, despite the crowd, they were very quick. Recommended.

First, I found a friendly voice who answered the phone, then a welcoming environment, delicious pizzas, and a dessert that makes my day better 😉. Moreover, and most importantly for me, I found true and spontaneous inclusion for my son. That doesn't always happen, it doesn't happen often. I highly recommend it in every way.

07/01/2026: On the Writers' Road, a lunch break worthy of Pirandello. The originality of the people of Agrigento astonishes once again. The search for fresh ingredients, generous portions, and culinary expertise are evident, beyond all reasonable opinion, in the kitchen of a gas station café. Fair prices, good food, and generous portions. Obviously, it's not a restaurant, but a place for a quick lunch break. But...if there were service stations in Italy, perhaps we'd be happier paying our tolls to eat at places like this.

10/09/2025: We stumbled upon this restaurant for lunch. It's a beautiful location, literally on the seafront. The dishes, however, aren't particularly exciting. The cherry tomato, eggplant, and swordfish starter was good.

29/08/2025: The staff were incredibly kind; we were treated exceptionally well and treated to delicious seafood. The quality-price ratio was unbeatable.

06/03/2026: I'm sharing an experience from a year ago, which I'd decided not to share, but then changed my mind. There were two of us, we ate wonderfully, and we had a great time overall. Unfortunately, however, the owner brought us a tray of fresh fish with lobsters inside, telling us that "fresh fish costs (if I'm not mistaken) €65/kg." While I was trying to decide what to eat, he himself offered me spaghetti with the lobster from the tray, and I accepted. After weighing it, he politely told me it was about 500 grams. The bill arrived; my lobster entree cost about €76. €150/kg per lobster, which we hadn't been told. The food was good, the place was nice, but this was a real "smart move" that didn't make sense. In any case, I recommend the place, but also ask the price of everything.

09/02/2026: My wife and I dined here while on vacation. The setting is absolutely lovely on the steps. The food — while not innovative or unique — was perfectly cooked and tasty. I would normally have given this place 5 stars were it not for the obnoxious service. I asked the server for two glasses of red wine to try before choosing one. There was no list of wines by the glass (mind you), so it was not clear how many total wines there were by the glass. Or if a wine by the glass list existed, it wasn’t presented to us. The server brought out the glasses, but I didn’t care for either so I asked if there was maybe a 3rd I could try. That’s when — in the most condescending manner I’ve ever experienced from a waiter in my life — they scoffed and laughed at me saying “in Sicily there are only two types of red wine.” Translation: “you idiot…why are you bothering me with such dumb requests.” I was so astonished and rattled at how they mocked me that I had to excuse myself from the table and go to the bathroom to take a pause. When I came out of the bathroom I was visibly shaken that the owner came up to me to ask what was wrong. I told him what happened and asked for a new server. The owner — a truly gracious soul whose wife was about to give birth any day — offered to be our server for the night. While the owner did his best to rectify the situation, the evening had already been ruined. I would’ve given 1 star had it not been for the kindhearted owner who understood the importance of service relative to the high prices they charge. While this happened maybe 9-10 months ago, it still pops into my mind from time to time. I’m writing this bad review for my own personal closure so I can stop thinking about how mistreated I was, and to warn the owner that others will leave bad reviews if they keep that obnoxious waiter on staff. And, for the record, their staff should be educated on Sicilian wine better. While there are indeed two main red varietals Sicily is famous for, there are plenty more that are grown in Sicily. So they mocked me for not knowing something that they were completely wrong about. How ironic.

21/02/2026: A very charming little spot for an aperitivo or aperitivo with indoor and outdoor seating. The cocktails are beautifully crafted, and the snacks also help spark pleasant conversation. There's paid parking nearby in blue lines in Catania's nightlife district.
