17/06/2025: Superb culinary experience in the heart of Palermo – "Il Pipino Rosso" A dinner at Pipino Rosso is not just a meal: it is a sensory journey that tells the story of Sicily through deep and authentic flavors. From the appetizer, the mussel soup conquers the palate: fragrant, intense, balanced between sea and land, so good that mopping up the sauce is a must. The main course? A masterpiece. The green gold spaghetti with clams and prawns is a symphony of the sea: the sauce, creamy and enveloping, binds the pasta perfectly without covering the freshness of the shellfish. The finish, finger-licking good. Next, an impeccable fried seafood: crispy calamari rings, golden caps, juicy prawns and delicious octopus renfe fried to perfection. No grease, just crunchiness and marine flavor in every bite. A dish that leaves you speechless… and almost breathless from how good it is. The location is a mix of style and warmth: books scattered here and there, stairs that intertwine in a welcoming environment, with vintage touches and mirrors that multiply the light and space. There is an intimate but never banal atmosphere, ideal for a relaxed dinner or a special moment. For those who want it, there is also a welcoming and bright terrace for eating outside. The service deserves an honorable mention: impeccable waiters, kind and with a prodigious memory. There is no need to repeat anything: every desire is welcomed with attention and professionalism. A place where you will gladly return, and from which you leave with a smile, a satisfied palate and the desire to tell about it. Highly recommended.

07/07/2025: Old fashioned place, with a beautiful terrace overlooking the sea. Food neither praise nor infamy, staff not among the most welcoming. Considering the location the prices are very low, we must admit. A good compromise

24/06/2025: We booked this restaurant for both the aperitif and the dinner, attracted by the beautiful location. Upon arrival, the terrace was undoubtedly suggestive, but the organization left something to be desired: even though there were free tables in the front row, we were shown a table in the second row with the unpleasant effect of admiring the heads of our neighbors more than the view. The aperitif confirmed the tendency of the entire island to have decidedly high prices: 15 euros for a gin and tonic served without even bringing the bottle of tonic to the table — a small gesture that would have made the service more attentive. For dinner we were accompanied upstairs: here too the few tables with a view of the sunset were reserved, even though some remained empty until late at night. Our table for two gave us a view that was not breathtaking: I was facing the mountain antennas, my partner was facing the entrance to the restaurant. The food, it must be said, was of good quality, but once again the price seemed disproportionate to what was offered. The final bill of 170 euros leaves a bitter taste in the mouth, not so much for the amount itself, but for the general feeling of an experience that, with a little more attention, could have turned into a beautiful evening. It is a shame to note how in many locations on the island that little “cuddle” that often makes the difference is missing: a thoughtful gesture, a detail of courtesy, that care of the guest that transforms a beautiful place into a special place.

The day before, in a starred restaurant in the area, I paid only 50 euros more, but I drank 1 bottle of excellent Chablis wine and not 2 glasses of Lighea Donnafugata, excellent food and dessert. 08/06/2025: Siamo state in questo ristorante perché super consigliato da Gaspare, il nostro skipper. Che dire, pesce freschissimo, abbiamo mangiato un crudo spettacolare, spaghetti al nero di seppia deliziosi ed una frittura buonissima! Tutti gentilissimi, ci ritorneremo sicuramente!

Take action before the injured person escapes. Don't let people out during events where you rent the building or put up texiplast

17/07/2025: Arrivando dalla Sardegna, quando il mio compagno della zona mi ha proposto di cenare in questo locale, avendoci mangiato molti anni fa, sono andata di impulso a vedere le recensioni, tante, di cui circa la metà non proprio positive. Anche se mi è saltato subito all' occhio che le recensioni positive erano molto elevate, quindi ho voluto dare fiducia. Premetto che Sferracavallo merita di essere visitata e la cena gustata con i dovuti tempi, eravamo preoccupati perché in alcune recensioni si faceva riferimento alla fretta dei camerieri nel voler liberare il tavolo...Smentisco assolutamente questo aspetto. Siamo arrivati per le 21 e con molta sorpresa devo ammettere che alle 21.05 già ci venivano servite le prime pietanze di antipasti a base di frittura di calamari e gamberi, insalata di polpo, sarde e alici, gamberi in salsa rosa, ostriche e cozze, tutto saporito, in abbondanza e freschissimo. Abbiamo assaporato tutto con calma, accompagnando il tutto con un ottimo vino della zona. I tre primi serviti successivamente ugualmente buonissimi: risotto con gamberetti e asparagi, spaghetti alle vongole (ottimi) e pasta tipica con un sugo a base di pesce, menta e finocchietto, molto particolare e saporito ( per palati sopraffini). Per non parlare dell' ottimo e fresco trancio di pesce spada alla griglia servito alla fine, accompagnato da uno spiedino di gamberi impastellati e panati, ugualmente molto particolari e saporiti. Devo ammettere che a scapito delle recensioni negative sono rimasta sbalordita dalla gentilezza del personale, ma dulcis in fundo alle h.22.15 il cameriere che porta in cucina le cassette di gamberi appena consegnati, freschi sotto ghiaccio ci ha lasciato veramente meravigliati, a conferma della freschezza dei prodotti utilizzati. Ottimi sapori e meravigliosi profumi del mare siciliano. Siamo andati via alle 23,00 più che sazi e soddisfatti per un menù degustazione di 35€, soldi spesi benissimo. Speriamo di riuscire a ritornarci presto.

16/07/2025: Every time I go to Palermo, Il Delfino in Sferracavallo is a must. The food is truly delicious! The menu is extensive: numerous appetizers, three first courses, a second course, sorbet, and wine... all for only €35 per person. The waiters are always kind and helpful, despite the large influx of customers that fills the restaurant every day. The price is more than fair for the quality and quantity of food offered. An authentic trattoria, where tradition and hospitality truly shine. Top marks!
