27/03/2025: Eating fish in Milan and its province is not easy, but here I assure you that it was... finally. Very friendly place like the owners, but perhaps that's what makes it special. It is increasingly difficult to find good food and hospitality and here we found it. Highly recommended.

06/04/2025: This is a good place to stay if you need to get to the Milan airport easily. They provide transportation to the airport which is fast and comfortable. It's nice that they have a restaurant but the food was just okay.

24/03/2025: An unforgettable lunch at Officina del Mare What an extraordinary surprise, this corner of the sea in the heart of Brescia! At Officina del Mare I tasted a Catalan dish that to call delicious would be an understatement: a triumph of very fresh shellfish, with lobster, scampi, cuttlefish and lots of authentic flavor. A dish that smells of the Mediterranean, prepared with care and served with elegance, where every bite makes you really feel the sea on your plate. The atmosphere is welcoming, the service is kind and professional, and the quality of the raw materials is evident from the first taste. An experience that I recommend to those who love good seafood cuisine and want to indulge in a tasty treat. I will definitely be back!

The food is also LOUSY …greasy milanese, meatballs taste like they were made last year, mushy pasta. Even the coffee sucks. Go anywhere but here, you will be glad you did!!!!!

15/02/2025: Dinner as a couple in this restaurant with truly elegant and refined interiors (one of the two restaurants of the Grand hotel et de Milan). Friendly staff and always attentive to needs: overall I would say impeccable. As for the menu, chef Gennaro Esposito skilfully combines elements of Neapolitan cuisine (his land of origin) with the Milanese culinary tradition. The mixed pasta soup is surprising, the lemon-scented saffron risotto and the turbot are excellent; less appreciated was the 'mbuttunato (stuffed) squid, which has pepper as its predominant element, which however was not specified in the menu. Overall a highly recommended restaurant.

16/03/2025: ¡Descubre un tesoro escondido de un restaurante en Menaggio! Todo el mundo se congrega en la Piazza de Menaggio, pero no es ahí donde se debe buscar un restaurante sobresaliente. Mientras que la plaza principal de Menaggio está muy concurrida, le recomiendo dar un paseo de siete minutos a lo largo del lago por el Grand Hotel Victoria y hacia el Minigolf. Algo escondido detrás del Minigolf se encuentra el restaurante La Grolla que ofrece almuerzos y cenas durante la temporada de verano (abril a principios de noviembre). La vista del lago desde la sección de jardín al aire libre de La Grolla es única con los Alpes en el norte y Varenna y Bellagio al otro lado del lago. - Muchas mesas fuera del restaurante cerrado están justo en el lago. Desde mi primera opinión La Grolla ha cambiado en un par de buenas maneras: En primer lugar, antes de la temporada 2024 el restaurante pasó por un extenso proceso de remodelación: el antiguo baño fue destripado y reemplazado por dos baños modernos: Un baño sencillo con lavabo. Uno de los baños está equipado para los clientes discapacitados. Los visitantes con bebés encontrarán un cambiador. Además, el comedor del edificio ha sido remodelado en un área abierta. En tres lados grandes ventanales y puertas de cristal permiten a los comensales disfrutar de la vista del lago y las montañas de la zona. El otro cambio importante es un nuevo jefe de la cocina. Ahora Giuseppe Odda dirige el espectáculo, ofreciendo una buena selección de aperitivos, ensaladas, primeros y platos principales, así como postres (fotos abajo). Tanto mis visitantes como yo hemos descubierto que solo un aperitivo o un primer plato o plato principal son suficientes por sí mismos como comida, pero no soy un adolescente en crecimiento. La pizza ha sido eliminada del menú. El personal de camarera siempre ha sido atento y servicial. El menú ofrece una gran variedad de platos de pescado. Fregola, un plato sardo con una variedad de mariscos (mariscos, camarones, un cangrejo entero) en una cama de pasta especial se ha convertido en uno de mis invitados favoritos en La Grolla. Otros platos están en el menú, con lubina, Turbot, incluso langosta, algunos con carne. Si desea comer un plato de pasta con salsa de tomate, puede pedirlo. No está en el menú, pero algunos de mis invitados lo estaban pidiendo y la cocina obligada. (Ten paciencia si el restaurante está muy lleno si pides algo que no está en el menú. ) En mi experiencia -y he sido un visitante frecuente de La Grolla a lo largo de los años- ha sido que las preferencias especiales debido a las alergias se han cumplido amablemente. Aunque normalmente no bebo vino, mis invitados siempre han estado muy contentos con la selección de los vinos. El vino se ofrece por botella o por copa. Pequeño secreto: El pan que ofrece La Grolla viene en pequeños trozos redondos con una parte suave en su interior y una corteza crujiente. Los extremos de los panes largos normalmente no se sirven. A mi esposa y a mí nos encantan las costras de pan; por eso solicité que me sirvieran solo extremos de panes.

16/03/2025: Discover a hidden treasure of a restaurant in Menaggio! Everybody congregates in the Piazza of Menaggio, but that is not where you should look for an outstanding restaurant. While the main square of Menaggio is very crowded, I recommend you take a seven minute stroll along the lake by the Grand Hotel Victoria and toward the Minigolf. Somewhat hidden behind the Minigolf is the restaurant La Grolla that offers lunch and dinner during the summer season (April to beginning of November). The view of the lake from the outdoor garden section of La Grolla is unique with the Alps in the north and Varenna and Bellagio across the lake. - Many tables outside of the enclosed restaurant are right at the lake. Since my first review La Grolla has changed in a couple of good ways: First, before the 2024 season the restaurant went through an extensive refinishing process: the old bathroom was gutted and replaced with two modern bathrooms: One simple bathroom with a sink. On of the bathrooms is equipped for handicapped patrons. Visitors with babies will find a changing table. Also, the dining area in the building has been refinished into an open area. On three sides large windows and glass doors let diners enjoy the view of the lake and mountains of the area. The other major change is a new head of the kitchen. Now Giuseppe Odda runs the show, offering a nice choice of appetizers, salads, first and main courses, as well as desserts (s. photos below). Both my visitors and I have found that just one appetizer or a first or main course are sufficient by themselves as a meal but I'm not a growing teenager. Pizza has been eliminated from the menu. Waiting staff has always been attentive and helpful. The menu features a large variety of fish dishes. Fregola, a Sardinian dish featuring a variety of seafood (shellfish, shrimps, a whole crab) on a bed of special pasta has become a favorite among my guests at La Grolla. Other dishes are on the menu, with Sea Bass, Turbot, even Lobster, some with meat. If you wish to eat a plain dish of pasta with a tomato sauce you can just ask for that. It isn't on the menu but some of my guests were asking for it and the kitchen obliged. (Be patient if the restaurant is very crowded if you ask for something that is not on the menu.) In my experience - and I've been a frequent visitor of La Grolla over the years - has been that special preferences due to allergies have been complied with graciously. While I usually don't drink wine, my guests have always been very happy with the selection of the wines. Wine is offered by the bottle or by the glass. Little secret: The bread offered by La Grolla comes in small round pieces with a soft part inside and a crunchy crust. Ends of the long loaves aren't normally served. My wife and I love bread crusts; hence I requested to be served just ends of loaves. I can't wait to return to La Grolla!

23/03/2025: Location carina e curata, cibo buono e sapori ben combinati anche se il risotto con tartufo gamberi e riduzione di alici mi è sembrato azzardato in quanto il sapore delle alici sovrastava. Nota negativa il personale: dopo l’ antipasto ci hanno pulito il tavolo e portato la carta dei dolci nonostante avessimo ordinato i primi. Ho atteso il parmigiano per oltre 15 minuti e dopo due solleciti mi è stato servito, quando ormai la portata è diventata fredda. Ho segnalato che faceva freschino nel locale (le signore al tavolo accanto al mio si sono messe delle sciarpe a modi scialle) e la cameriera mi ha risposto se volessi il cappotto !! Assurdo!! Una location così prestigiosa e ho dovuto cenare al freddo !! Ricordavo un servizio e un’attenzione migliore! Forse il personale “giovane” avrebbe dovuto essere istruito e seguito in maniera migliore per evitare disservizi!

18/03/2025: Io e la mia famiglia siamo stati al Pomiroeu una domenica a pranzo. Accoglienza calorosa, atmosfera piacevolissima, piatti uno più buono dell’altro. Ci torneremo sicuramente!

16/04/2025: Mi dispiace fare questa recensione sul ristorante CALALUNA. Oggi in specifico l’esperienza è stata calpestata spiacevolmente dal proprietario. Sono venuto con mia moglie e figlio come di consueta abitudine per la qualità delle pietanze e fin oggi anche il servizio. Oggi abbiamo perso il padre di mia moglie e assieme al mio figlio la ho portata a spendere un momento speciale dove abbiamo condiviso le storie di famiglia. Abbiamo spesso in tre ciò che certamente non sarà un patrimonio ma bel 190€ tra cibo e vino oltre le solite chiusure di portata per una bella cena. il tutto andava bene fino a che a certo momento, ancora dove evidentemente c’era un calice di vino da finire, due amari e due caffè, il prioritario si è presentato sinuosamente, messo il conto di fronte a me e detto a bassa voce, “ecco il conto, ho bisogno del tavolo”. Essendo che ciascuna volta non solo spendo personalmente molto di più giacchè mancavano mia figlia e il suo fidanzato, dov’è in media il conto tende a smontare oltre 200€ nonché 300€, e poi minimo, e ripeto minimo 20€+ di mancia che a milano non è dovuta, questo gesto lo ho trovato l’esempio della cattiva educazione e mancanza di gusto nei nostri confronti. Evidentemente, ho pagato il conto, non ho lasciato la mancia, non per causa dei camerieri ma dal proprietario stesso, e posso dire non tornerò mai più a spendere i miei ben guadagnati soldi, che come dim insista abitudine, ovunque porto la mia famiglia, faccio oltre il dovuto. So che non sarà la nostra mancanza a fare fallire questa attività ma conoscendo la milano per bene dove apparteniamo, e posso dire apparteniamo, non è un ristorante alla nostra altezza per la semplice ragione della cattiva attenzione proprio del proprietario stesso cui dovrebbe essere di esempio. Ma come si dice in italiano, non è l’abito che fa il monaco. Ci sono a milano molti altri ristoranti che oltre alla buona qualità del cibo hanno anche una educazione eccelsa. Questo oggi posso dire non ci arriva alle caviglie. ——- I regret having to write this review about the CALALUNA restaurant. Today in particular the experience was unpleasantly trampled by the owner. I came with my wife and son as usual for the quality of the dishes and so far also the service. Today we lost my wife's father and I took them to spend a special moment where we shared family stories. We often have in three what you may think will not be a fortune but a nice € 190 between food and wine in addition to the usual closings of a nice dinner. Everything was going well until the moment when while still with a glass of wine to finish, two bitters and two coffees, the owner sinuously approched the table, put the bill in front of me and said in a low voice, "here is the bill, I need the table". Since each time not only I personally spend much more because my daughter and fiance as well asnother famiky members were missing, and the bill tends to surmoumt over €200 to €300, mot to mention a minimum, and I repeat minimum, € 20+ tip that in Milan is not due, I found this gesture an example of bad manners and lack of taste towards us. Obviously, I paid the bill, I did not leave a tip, not because of the waiters but because of the owner himself, and I can say I will never go back to spend my well earned money, which I can as I do wherever I take my family, I do more than what is due. I know that it will not be our absence that will cause this business to fail but knowing well Milan, where we belong and I can say we belong, it is not a restaurant at our level for the simple reason of the poor attitude led by greed from the owner who should set the example of good business manners for restaurants of this elk. As they say, it is not the habit that makes the man (an italian saying). There are many other restaurants in Milan that in addition to good quality also have excellent manners. I can say this today doesn't stand to our level.

29/03/2025: Business dinner with colleagues in this small restaurant in the Brera area, after a very qualitative aperitif always served inside the not very large but very beautiful and well-kept restaurant we sat down for dinner. Practically a true private for our company dinner, after a series of appetizers two courses arrived (a first and second course) followed by tiramisu. All pleasant and with quality raw materials, to try for a dinner in perfect Milanese style.
