28/04/2026: Nice, spacious place with an outdoor area. Good pizzas with quality ingredients. The desserts are also excellent. The only reason we're missing a star is because we waited 50 minutes after ordering and noticed that a table after us, all of whom were having pizza, was served first.

26/07/2026: We stopped in for pizza, pasta, and wine and had a wonderful meal. Everything was delicious, the service was friendly, and the lakeside atmosphere made the experience even better. A great spot in Como.

25/07/2026: The food was disappointing: the portions were small and, with the exception of the pizza, it simply wasn't very tasty. The Aperol and the Mojito also left much to be desired. Since we were still hungry, we just ordered another pizza afterwards. In short: I would only come back here once purely for a pizza, but otherwise, I'd rather steer clear of this place.

24/07/2026: Disappointing, very small portions and not tasty. (I am not a big eater), ordered pizza afterwards. This was very tasty. Aperol and mojito were also not good. I would only go back for a pizza, nothing else.....

02/05/2026: Yesterday (May 1, 2026) we had an excellent dinner, authentic local cuisine, everything very good, a very welcoming atmosphere, very kind staff, and fair prices... definitely the best cuisine in Volpaia. We'll be back.

03/05/2026: We had reserved a table at this restaurant for our last evening at Lake Como. Our expectations were quite high due to the good reviews. We got a table right by the water. When we opened the menu, the prices initially shocked us. Yes, Lake Como is expensive, and we're happy to spend more for good food... but paying almost €30 for a 'normal' pasta dish was still a bit much. Well, since it was our last evening, we ordered what we fancied anyway (one pasta with pistachio cream and prawns, one fish with a side dish). Both were €30 each, plus a side salad (which consisted of just a few green leaves, some other carelessly arranged bits and pieces, and far too much dressing made from plain yogurt). This salad then cost an unbelievable €14. A bottle of wine started at €30 (online price €12). To our disappointment, the food didn't really live up to expectations. My pasta tasted of absolutely nothing. It was so bland that any homemade sauce would taste better. There were a maximum of three prawns on the plate, cut into tiny pieces. My partner's fish was lukewarm. For the price, we simply expected more. The only time anyone asked if everything was okay was at the very end, when the table was finally cleared. I said "well," and poof, the plates were gone, and no one asked any further questions. The female server (with short hair on the sides) was very friendly. The male server (with a larger belly), on the other hand, seemed forcedly friendly and was rather unpleasant. We definitely wouldn't come back. Yes, the view was nice, but you can get that almost anywhere on Lake Como.

23/06/2026: Very good food and the staff is very friendly and understands english well. Highly recommend especially at night as the atmosphere is exceptional due to the use of warm lighting and traditional furniture.

09/06/2026: Nice place and good food, the area where I was sitting was covered by a very kind waiter but the waitress who accompanied us to the table (brunette with blonde mesh) was really rude.

07/06/2026: If I pay €26 for two takeout pizzas and when I ask to kindly cut them, the waitress, with very little professionalism and kindness, even asks for €1 for a simple cutting wheel, justifying the fact that "we hire someone to do just that" and further saying "it's the owners who take the money anyway." And on top of that, with the restaurant half empty in June, asking for a supplement to cut two pizzas, I think it's the height of bullshit people can get away with just for 50 cents? I speak as someone who has worked a lot in the restaurant industry, if you don't know how to keep up with a service, justifying it by saying "200 pizzas a night is so much that you hire an employee for what?" There's a great lack of humility and professionalism. Terrible service, rude and not very credible as human beings. Have a good day and good luck everyone.

14/07/2026: When we arrived late, the kitchen had already closed, but upon seeing us, the very kind owner offered to make us the pizzas himself. In fact, since he didn't have any cold cuts or other necessities, he reopened the pantry and made us a super pizza. Thank you!

29/07/2026: We came at 7:30 pm with a reservation. They immediately gave us menus and mineral water, and then they took our order after about 2 hours. Among the various dishes, we had chosen fried calamari, at a cost of €16.00 each. But when they served them, each dish contained three-quarters of a portion of fried courgettes and a quarter of calamari. And on the menu it says fried calamari! So I don't understand what courgettes have to do with this dish. It looks like a dish full of calamari, but in reality, you eat a lot of courgettes and not enough calamari. My advice to this restaurant, in addition to the courgettes, is that if you use canned beans, you'll earn more! In my country, this is called: thievery! In my opinion, this restaurant can even close! As long as they never see my face again. I saw what the restaurant's response to my review said, but it's not what he wrote. He obviously doesn't remember what was written on the menu. I read fried calamari! If I had read with zucchini, I wouldn't have ordered them, also because I'm allergic to them. In fact, I separated the zucchini from the calamari, and I put the zucchini next to the plate. And I'm the one who will never come again. You haven't understood something important for your business. It takes time to win over a customer! It only takes a second to lose them. Then you should correct what you wrote about calamari, and if you really want to include zucchini, add them to the writing. Because whoever reads the review and your response, I don't know what impression you'll make! I always write the truth in my reviews. I also tell you that in Rho, I go to other restaurants and the portions are of perfect weight, but without the scenography!

28/07/2026: We came with friends to eat pizza, but mine and that of a friend of mine had to be with tuna and onion, I'm telling our experience in this review, in the pizza in the center there was the amount of a teaspoon of tuna, and 2 very thin strips of onion, I told the waiter and he served me, apart from the pizza, a small plate of raw onion, which I left on the table, since when I was a farmer I had pigs, which I don't have today, and if you read the reviews, you'll see a facsimile, that's the review of the person who was with me! But from one point of view they were good, it could be an idea! When the pizzas are missing the toppings they bring it separately, and thank goodness the pizza was the right weight; otherwise they would have brought me a bag of flour!

18/05/2026: We stayed at the family run Albergo Il Vapore for 2 nights and the hospitality we had from Pinuccia and Simone was second to none. The evening dinner at the restaurant we had was so good we ate there 2 nights in a row! The fresh pasta and fish dishes were deliciously prepared by the chef Simone.... make sure to book if eating here as its very popular! Highly recommended!

15/05/2026: Had the absolute best lunch here with my wife during our time in Lake Como. Albergo Il Vapore is everything you hope to find in Italy — authentic, family-run, warm, and completely unforgettable. The setting in the heart of Menaggio is beautiful, but it’s the atmosphere and homemade food that truly make this place special. Every dish tasted like it was made with genuine care and tradition. Fresh pasta, incredible flavors, simple ingredients done perfectly — the kind of meal that reminds you why Italian cuisine is loved around the world. You can feel the passion in every plate. The service was equally wonderful: welcoming, relaxed, and genuinely kind, making us feel more like guests in someone’s home than customers at a restaurant. What we loved most was how authentic everything felt. No tourist traps, no unnecessary fuss — just outstanding food, a charming atmosphere, and a memorable experience shared together. Easily one of the highlights of our entire trip and without question the best lunch we had in Italy. If you’re visiting Menaggio, do yourself a favor and eat here. We’ll be talking about this meal for a very long time.

21/02/2026: We had dinner here in December, but it's a really strange place. A foot-operated pump to flush the toilet (are we in the Flintstones?), the pizza was tasteless, and the toppings were really sparse (and not cheap, after all). My friend had to sit on a sort of vintage wooden stool, but without a backrest. I wouldn't recommend this pizzeria; there are definitely better places in Milan.
