29/11/2025: The Moretta Passed | Osteria Romana di un Tempo is one of those small Roman places you step into and immediately feel: this is real Rome. Right in the historic center, close to the Tiber, tiny in size but full of soul and character. We came for lunch and ended up staying longer than planned — every dish was genuinely delicious. The Ossobuco, the Roman-style tripe and offal, the beef liver and heart stew, the lamb loin… Deep, honest flavors — the kind you can only find in a true Roman osteria. Great wine selection too: thoughtful, natural, and perfectly paired. Service was warm and attentive in that effortless Roman way — welcoming without trying too hard. A small note: on a winter day, being the first to arrive, the room felt a bit cold at the beginning. But once food and wine landed on the table, everything warmed up immediately. A small detail: In winter, when we were the first to enter, the dining room was a bit chilly. But with the food and wine on the table, the warmth arrived immediately. A small restaurant with a huge soul—excellent food, excellent wines, and an authentic Roman atmosphere. A place that will last, and where you'll gladly return. Highly recommended.

16/01/2026: Friendly neighbourhood bar The staff are really friendly, and they don't charge you an arm and a leg to sit down - it was just €2 for a capuccino. And the coffee is pretty good - not the usual bitter Italian coffee!

26/12/2025: Went today for the first time, a pleasant surprise, good, fresh food. The lady and her daughter were very kind. We have two dogs, and due to circumstances, we had to change tables twice at our request. Thank you, we'll be back soon.

15/01/2026: A cozy restaurant covered by a vine, offering creative seasonal dishes by candlelight. The dishes? A tribute to Roman cuisine. An intimate corner in the heart of Rome. The traditional first courses are excellent. The menu features well-chosen dishes, not at all touristy. Prices are a bit higher.

07/01/2026: It seemed like a place too touristy. The food quality was adequate. Frankly, I expected more, but some dishes weren't up to par. Of the dishes we ordered, the best was the cacio e pepe with artichokes, while the eggplant millefeuille was too heavy with oil. The service was quick and courteous, and the staff were friendly, but for us Italians, cooking is a serious matter. Overall, the rating is satisfactory.

07/12/2025: A very elegant restaurant, in the splendid setting of the Via Appia Antica. The staff were extremely kind, knowledgeable, and professional, and the dishes and desserts were excellent. After lunch, the owner helped us beyond our expectations by resolving issues with the taxi he had kindly booked for us to take us back to our hotel. Highly recommended in every way.

And by the way this is not a misunderstanding (like what they responded to other reviews) Though the food was great, we had a deeply uncomfortable experience here. To start off when we politely asked if the heating lamp could be lowered, the man looked us up and down with clear irritation, making us feel like a simple request was an imposition. It continued when my friend asked about vegan options. The waiter snapped “pasta and artichoke,” offering no explanation until asked further twice. He then incorrectly insisted she couldn’t eat pistachio, and when she clarified, he responded sharply with “I know what vegan is.” The tone throughout was dismissive and rude. The food may be fine, but the hospitality was the worst I’ve seen for a while. There are many restaurants that understand basic respect and customer service - this one unfortunately did not.

29/12/2025: Recommended by a colleague who called the experience "unique." It's the second 1-star restaurant I've tried in Rome and the surrounding area. We weren't blown away by the overwhelming flavors, and compared to the other restaurant, we didn't comment as enthusiastically about the tastes and pairings as we did at the other restaurant. We found some pairings to be inconsistent and overpowering the primary ingredient. For example, the red mullet with red fruit powder. All in all, not a bad experience. But we expected an explosion of flavors that, subjectively, we didn't receive.

19/01/2026: We chose Chalet del Lago for our wedding reception, and everything was perfect. The food was one of our strong points: unique and refined dishes, meticulously crafted, beautifully presented, and thoroughly enjoyed by all our guests. The location is stunning both day and night, with a breathtaking view and a simple, elegant decor. The service deserves a special mention: the staff was always present but never intrusive, attentive to timing, to the guests' requests, and especially to my needs. In the days leading up to the wedding, they patiently assisted me, answering every question and constantly reassuring me. On the day of the event, I felt truly supported, never "left alone," not even for a moment. I received so many compliments from friends and family. A sincere thank you to Diego for his availability, attention, and the passion with which he looked after us. A place I will always hold in my heart.
