12/08/2026: Amazing food with really good price, very nice service and view too. We didn't have a reservation and sit indoor temporarily, but was soon changed to outdoor when there was a free table.

10/08/2026: I went for dinner during my recent vacation in Matera: a restaurant serving excellent, traditional Lucanian cuisine with generous portions. The prices were very reasonable, generally lower than other restaurants in Matera. The staff was friendly and willing to explain and recommend dishes. Excellent. If there's a downside, it doesn't have an outdoor seating area, which can be pleasant in the summer.

10/06/2026: I can't share it yet, I wrote for these reasons, I've been calling at various hours for 3 days to book, no one answers, I sent an email and on the website, in contacts 4 reservations no response, I would like to publish a review of satisfaction, but it seems like an unreachable restaurant!!!!

16/05/2026: This restaurant, somewhat removed from the hustle and bustle of Matera's center, is housed in a beautiful, light-filled room with exposed stone walls. But the real highlight is the food. Each dish is prepared with quality ingredients, slowly simmered to concentrate maximum flavor. Add to that a warm welcome from the owner, who speaks French, and a jazzy playlist, and you have a wonderful way to appreciate the magic of Matera. And don't forget the tiramisu, with its homemade sponge cake, prepared fresh to order for a delightful, sweet, but not overly sweet, ending.

We felt pampered by the flavors of true Greece both in the dishes and in the welcome from the managers, it really seems like being in a tavern in Greece, the same atmosphere, tavern managed by Spyros and his wife in an excellent and familiar way, dishes prepared by the owner with great care and attention, quality products and dishes with a unique flavor, we enjoyed it very much and we spent the right amount, what can I say, we will return as soon as possible because Greece has entered my heart and thanks to this tavern in Ferrandina I can go there whenever I want without having to take the plane

25/07/2026: On Monday evening, July 20th, we celebrated our wedding vows here at Talpa, and we couldn't have chosen a better place!!! ;) The location is truly enchanting, nestled in the splendid setting of our Sassi di Matera, filled with fairy lights, music, and dancing that created a romantic and relaxing atmosphere. At just the right moments, we even got to hit the dance floor and let loose!!! ;) The Talpa team was extraordinary... from the wonderful owner Donatella, to our dear chef, to the talented and friendly waiters... they were all impeccable, professional, kind, welcoming, and attentive, and even extended their closing day to allow us to celebrate. Furthermore, they served us delicious and abundant food... the chef was so skilled at turning simple dishes into true delights for our palates that we asked for several seconds; all our guests were amazed and super satisfied. We thank Talpa again with all our hearts for making our day unforgettable!!! ;) Raffaello and Ezia

14/08/2026: Highly recommended. As my first experience at a high-end restaurant, I couldn't have made a better choice. The dishes have a bold flavor, and the staff is very knowledgeable, cheerful, and welcoming. This restaurant is the perfect choice for celebrating, as in my case, an anniversary or any important occasion.

10/05/2026: I was in Matera 3 days. The restaurant was never open and the doors locked. On the street level there was a large menu board and a few tables but it looks like they are closed at least temporary. No signs that say they are closed but it sure looks that way.

09/05/2026: It was exactly what I was looking for, the food was very good and the people were very nice.

18/08/2026: My partner and I went to this little place in the center of Policoro. A charming and well-kept place with an outdoor terrace overlooking a small square. For appetizers, we had octopus meatballs, which were truly delicious, and fried cod with cruschi peppers, which were also very good. We continued with two octopus sandwiches: both were exquisite. I especially enjoyed the black one with octopus, capocollo, and figs. A truly perfect combination. It's a shame about the capoccolo; if there had been a little more, the dish would certainly have been more balanced. But overall, it was truly delicious. Since we were so hungry, we also had the octopus with mashed potatoes: the best surprise of the evening. The octopus was incredibly tender and masterfully flavored with oregano, which really gave that extra touch and made this dish extremely flavorful and tasty. Fair prices and excellent value for money.
