This restaurant was discovered by chance while visiting the city. Good, authentic food. The orecchiette with turnip greens were delicious and rich. Clean place, attentive staff, and a very friendly owner. Recommended.

In the heart of the Sassi, a very cute and clean little terrace. Very good traditional cuisine and friendly, attentive staff. I recommend it. They open at 12:00!!

We had the lunch special for €10 and €12. We were so pleased that we came back in the evening. It's a lovely place to sit. The service is excellent. The value for money is fantastic. Pasta dishes for €12.50 with local wine for €9 per liter. Simple, local cuisine simply tastes good. We weren't looking for a fancy restaurant, just simple and tasty dishes, and we were very happy with it.

After spending the morning exploring the beautiful Matera and feeling a bit peckish, we were looking for a simple, affordable place to eat. After almost considering heading out to the Sassi district for something less expensive, we found Osteria San Pietro. It's an ideal place where you can eat without necessarily spending a fortune. There are tables both inside and out, but we opted for an inside table because it was windy. The service was prompt, especially when it came to bringing pasta to the starving little girl. Even for us adults, our entire order arrived promptly. The staff, from the chef to the waiter, were friendly and courteous. The place was pleasant, the music wasn't at all loud, and they recommended an excellent red wine to accompany the food, and we bought a bottle to take home afterwards. Recommended for its value and the kindness and helpfulness of all the staff.

A cozy little restaurant, good food, very friendly staff, definitely worth a try. Prices are below average for other restaurants in the area.
