We were alone. Very friendly staff. Decent food at a reasonable price.

We dined at La Contessa restaurant on a Saturday evening. The restaurant was packed, I want to point out, because despite the full restaurant, the service was excellent: fast, welcoming, and above all, immaculately clean! We had a selection of house appetizers, a first course each, a second course each, drinks, and dessert. The portions were generous, but above all, EXCELLENT! At a truly affordable price! We were served by Miss Angela, a cheerful, kind, fast, and attentive young woman. Nicola, the owner of La Contessa, is a very kind person, attentive to all guests, and also very attentive to the cleanliness of the room. Sandro, a down-to-earth guy, kind and thoughtful with all guests. Little Alessia, a bomb of charm, sweet and loving. And finally, Pina, the driving force of La Contessa, as well as the chef. A woman who cooks with passion and love, and these are the two ingredients that aren't on the menu, but which make her dishes exceptional, and this is evident in the deliciousness of the dishes! Together, they make a truly fantastic team! If you want to feel at home and eat well, I recommend stopping by Contessa! Do as we did, we went there specifically for this. You won't regret it; in fact, you'll want to go back the next day!

A very nice and quiet little restaurant. We happened upon it while looking for recommendations on Maps, and we were really pleased. The local appetizers were excellent, and the seasonal first courses were very good.

We were passing through and discovered this little restaurant via Google. Of the various options, it was the one that inspired us the most. We ordered a charcuterie board, two first courses (turnip greens and meat sauce), a dessert, and coffee: everything was delicious. The kindness of the owners, who also provided us with a small guide to help us explore the village, was an added bonus. Highly recommended!

Cozy local ristorante with very good food, good service and reasonable prices. We drove Matera to Potenza and saw a sign in crossroad "Irsina - uno dei piu belli borghi in Italia" and decided to for sunday lunch there. It was very good decision!
