04/04/2026: Great Greek Food! We were a little afraid as they had to seat us in the basement, but it was very comfortable for our noisy big family to enjoy the bit of privacy after a long day seeing the sites of Rome. The chicken, pita, and potatoes were a big hit and especially with the kids. We argued over the best dipping sauces. You cant really go wrong. An english version of the menu might have helped but it was kind of fun interpreting the language.

04/11/2025: Stunning location, right on the beach in Marina di Campo. A regular stop for the past five years, we've been coming for both lunch and dinner. Quality ingredients, courtesy, and professionalism. See you next year!

08/03/2026: Neapolitan-style pizzeria. For those who love thick crust pizza, this is the perfect place. The menu features all the classic Neapolitan pizzeria dishes. The service is attentive and fast. The food is excellent and made with top-quality ingredients. Fair prices. Recommended.

08/12/2025: The atmosphere was super pleasant and the food was very good. The lasagna I ordered was excellent; they brought bread, and the rosé wine we ordered was very tasty. The limoncello wasn't too sweet and was very good, but the surprising one was the melon limoncello, which was like a meloncello, very delicious. It tasted like a drink we consume in Brazil, but tastier. I highly recommend it for couples, or even for someone alone; the food was great.

08/12/2025: We expected better after reading the reviews. The tomato and mozzarella salad was bland, with cardboard-like lettuce, and the €12 starter was completely overpriced. The main courses were okay, but nothing special; not really the Italian vibe we were looking for. One positive point was the complimentary limoncello at the end.

11/04/2026: This café is located in a hotel. The place looks better in photos than in reality. The food is average, and the service speed is quite slow. The service is acceptable but does not meet the standard one might expect from a hotel setting. If you’re just stopping by for a quick coffee and a few photos, it’s fine.

21/03/2026: We could sum it up by saying "Fabulous," but that would be an understatement. Let's talk about the location: Have you ever seen an osteria/fraschetta in a cave? Here it is! Let's talk about the service: the "real" one, not pretentious, but informal: "homey," beautiful and let's say a few words, maybe even four, about the food: Authentic flavors, products above all suspicion and above average. We can say that except for one or two dishes, we ate the entire menu: An appetizer worth a dinner, with quality cured meats and cheeses. We wanted to go all out: sautéed chicory, expertly made. Meatballs were perfectly balanced and soft, just as they should be, and a sauce that deserves a 10/10 rating. We finished it all off with a cacio e pepe lasagna made by grandma (an added bonus), fantastic. All washed down with a dry Romanella that spoke volumes! The price is right for the quality of the products, the service is fast and informal, and the location is truly breathtaking. Recommended? Yes, very much!

03/11/2025: A truly unique, almost magical experience, enjoyed in the heart of a tuff cave that seems suspended in time. The menu was a constant discovery: sophisticated yet authentic dishes, where each ingredient is clearly perceived, like a symphony of local flavors presented with passion and respect. The soft egg with truffle and the tagliolini with cabbage definitely exceeded all expectations. Rarely do you taste cuisine so creative yet so deeply rooted in the land and memory. The Tellus wine, expertly served, completed a perfect sensory journey. It's just a shame the restaurant closed shortly afterward—we were lucky enough to arrive in time for an experience that will remain etched in our memory. A place that spoke to the heart and the palate.

22/12/2025: Pizzeria just steps from Piazza Bologna, a few minutes' walk from the metro station. The spacious restaurant offers plenty of seating and a wood-fired oven. The menu offers appetizers, fried foods, and traditional Roman pasta dishes, as well as various pizzas. The dishes are truly inviting, prepared with top-quality ingredients. Try the Instagrammable tiramisu, served in a pot, like a plant with soil. Prices are average for the neighborhood. Recommended.

22/03/2026: I visit Polignano a Mare several times every year and always visit CRU, owned by the same people who run Osteria di Chichibio. The food and decor are, as always, top-notch. From details like the lamps and cutlery to my favorite fluted glasses. Unfortunately, on my last visit, there was no one at the entrance. An older gentleman (presumably the chef) came out, being rather curt and rude. He quickly offered me a table and left. The bad taste remained, as I'd brought someone very close to me, and from the moment I entered, my enthusiasm plummeted. We expected the kind of hospitality I return to every year, but in this case, the hospitality that Massimiliano and Vittoria possess was lacking.

11/03/2026: If you come to Genoa, you absolutely must stop for dinner at Prie Rosse, with its unique atmosphere and exquisite traditional Genoese dishes. Also noteworthy is the kindness and friendliness of the waiters, ready to answer every customer's needs and questions. Another noteworthy aspect is the availability of off-menu items that can surprise you!

05/03/2026: It had been a long time since I had been to this restaurant. I chose it to celebrate my birthday and the owner gave me a wonderful welcome as if I were a regular customer. Then he surprised me by celebrating my birthday with candles on the cake. I have no words. I was moved. The food was excellent. Thanks to everyone, Angelo and Cinzia.

09/04/2026: Staff like the worst in Ramsey’s Kitchen Nightmares! Awful staff - waitress like an angry twisted wasp - so rude. You can’t order a drink when you arrive. Go somewhere else please. We have previously eaten at Cerva restaurant ( just round the corner ) which is very good but decided to give Samarcanda a try. Big mistake. Previous reviews had commented about the very bad attitude of the staff and they were so right! We arrived and were shown to our table. Waitress appeared after ten minutes - very sullen and grumpy. Asked if we were ready to order. We said not quite but can we order a bottle of wine and water while we decide. She said no - everything has to be ordered at once. We were a bit confused - are you saying we can’t order drinks while we look at the menu? We had walked round from the Holiday Inn so were a bit parched for water She was very rude - and insisted everything to be ordered at once. “So we can’t order drinks and starters and decide what we want after? Are you serious?” We decided we would leave. She got really nasty and walked away shouting abuse about us. I don’t speak Italian but do speak Spanish and the languages are similar enough to get an idea of the insults she was shouting. She was really being rude. We eat out a lot (maybe 3 or 4 times a week) and we have come to realise that a bad attitude at the start only gets worse. So we now reckon, if something is bad, just cash your chips and walk out! So that’s what we did! A man behind the bar asked us what had happened. We started telling him and the nasty waitress rushed up and started shouting over us. We were trying to explain we had just wanted to order a drink before ordering food - but waitress kept on shouting! The man behind counter was telling her to go away - and so were we. I told him - look at her behaviour - it’s like having a mosquito around you - she was jumping around shouting and shrieking like an angry wasp. Kind of hilarious actually - a bit Fawlty Towers. The guy kept trying to get rid of her, holding his hand up and pointing to her to go away and asking what happened. We thought the guy might sit us somewhere else and find us another waitress but when we finally managed to explain what had happened - and asked can we order drinks with food afterwards, he just shrugged. So we left….. To be honest, they probably did us a favour. We went to Cerva down the road where the server was on her own serving about ten tables but she was super efficient smiley, happy and welcoming. The Cerva food was excellent - like really home cooked, delicious quality and generous portions. Great wine only €10 for a litre carafe. Cerva is all round much much better than Samarcanda. The environment is a little more like a cafe - but the experience was excellent and there are lots of locals and friendly people in there - always a good sign. As I mentioned, we eat out a lot, and recognise that it’s not just the food - it’s the entire experience. I don’t know if the food is good or bad at Samarcanda- but it wouldn’t matter - I wouldn’t eat there again on our next trip through Milan and would definitely not recommend it. There is no point at all going out and paying money to eat with a waitress behaving like an angry wasp - so Samarcanda is up there as one of our worst ding out experiences. Do not - definitely NOT recommend!
