12/06/2025: Totally by chance we ended up at this restaurant for lunch this afternoon. It was very quiet, the gentleman was sitting outside on his terrace and looked around. When he noticed us he came to us, the calm and friendliness itself, with advice, clear explanation and attention for us. We had a fantastic lunch, the waitress and the lady herself were also very hospitable and had an eye for us as guests. The portions were large, we were given the leftovers carefully packed to take home. And that in a tourist town, you don't expect it (anymore). A unique meeting and experience that we will always remember with emotion and much pleasure. Thank you dear people of Portolano!!!

The professional and at the same time confidential service together with the suggestions of the owner will make your evening special. The price is honest for the service offered. 19/06/2025: I went to Canter Restaurant for dinner and I was thrilled. The atmosphere is elegant but welcoming, the staff attentive and always smiling. We started with an appetizer of very fresh raw fish, followed by a truly impeccable seafood risotto. Each dish was taken care of in the smallest details, with balanced flavors and top-quality ingredients. The wine recommended by the sommelier went perfectly with our dishes. Delicious homemade desserts, especially the crispy and light millefeuille like a cloud.

19/06/2025: You eat under a tent on the seafront promenade, which would be ok except that the tables are very close together, a bit of a wait between the different courses, but I would say normal, the very negative thing is the quality of the food. Trofie with pesto, fresh pasta they say but probably pre-cooked where you had a trofie hard and dry while others were soft, good pesto but without green beans and potatoes. DO NOT TAKE THE TRIO OF FRIED ANCHOVIES, definitely fried in the morning and then reheated. The breaded anchovies were dry and dry worse than a shoe sole,,,, also negative the other two types of cooking ... terrible dish. Final cost disproportionate to the quality.....TO AVOID

The waitstaff will help you to learn a bit of (menu) Italian and if you attempt to do so, you will be amazed by the service! Fish and shellfish are the star here but the pastas and short rib were outstanding. Leave room for dessert. Very good wine list. Our best meal in Como!!!
