05/09/2025: The aperitif was decidedly poor (€7 for a beer with four triangles of focaccia with cheese and four with ham), but the waitress was very kind. Big flaw: there's no bathroom.

31/07/2025: Very nice place to stop and have a drink in shade and watch the world go by. Friendly owners.

01/10/2025: An old trattoria in Cornigliano. Good and fast service. I ordered spaghetti with clams (good quantity and excellent quality). The pasta was delicious, crispy, and the dough was very easy to digest. Fair prices.

08/09/2025: I don't recommend it. They don't know how to make whole wheat pizzas and they even make fun of you by using regular dough in the whole wheat one, that's my interpretation. I was disappointed by the lack of trust shown to the customer, as if our complaint wasn't true, when the girl at the pizzeria reported that the whole wheat dough was missing. There are pizzerias that let you know right away if something is missing so they can consult with the person who then pays you for a pleasure, a service. Which in this case I consider a negative. I'm writing this for the future and for the relationship with other customers, specifically those who order takeout. Stop, I don't think I insulted; constructive criticism, stop.

21/10/2025: Terrible service: at the cashier I was treated with condescension and sarcasm simply for politely asking to replace a glass of hot water with cold water.

29/06/2025: Historic pastry shop in Genoa, but I assume the behavior of the owner is also historic! I went to this pastry shop to get a cake, which has nothing to say about the "excellent" product But hearing how the employee called to have me served and the faces she made disgusted me... there was no rush, the employees are very nice in their ways and seeing an owner who with her face despises her employee in front of a customer, even if you have the best product in the world, does not make me want to come back The 2 stars are for the cake!

The shop successfully combines tradition, artisanal quality, and a welcoming atmosphere, making a difference from the very first glance. Every time I enter, I'm struck by the freshness: the brioches are fragrant, well-leavened, just the right amount of richness without being cloying; the assorted pastries showcase flavor and variety, with perfectly measured creams. The cakes are beautiful to look at and delicious to eat; the decoration is meticulous, and the ingredients seem carefully selected. Then there are those little highlights that evoke a memory: typical local products, more "classic" desserts that remain faithful to Genoese culinary traditions, yet expertly reworked. The pastry shop and the atmosphere The shop is well-kept, elegant but not pretentious: the furnishings and display cases immediately put you in a good mood, the lighting is adequate, and the spaces—though not huge—are well-organized. Impeccably clean. It's the kind of place where you can stop for a relaxed breakfast or a small sweet treat during the day. The porticoed exterior makes the entrance inviting, especially during the warmer hours. The Sales Assistants and Service This is where courtesy and expertise come into play. The staff are generally kind, helpful with a smile, and able to offer advice without being intrusive. They know how to answer questions about the products, explain the ingredients, and suggest pairings like "this cake goes well with an espresso like this" or "if you're looking for something light, try this." Service is also quick; despite occasionally being crowded, the organization seems well-oiled. In short, Mantero isn't just a pastry shop, it's an experience: quality desserts, an atmosphere that invites you to linger even just to browse, and attentive staff who make every visit worthwhile. If you love well-made desserts, you'll find reason to return here time and time again.

26/09/2025: It's a shame the clerk tried her best not to serve me. I had to leave without buying anything, and she gave me a sarcastic goodbye. I know the pastries are excellent, but it's a shame about the staff!

13/08/2025: If you want to take a trip back in time, you can book. Everything is still from the 1950s... But I'm telling you everything. No air conditioning and too much noise with the windows open.

24/06/2025: Clean, quiet, basic in the rooms but full of past charm and history, clearly evident in the furnishings of the rooms on the ground floor. Unfortunately the bar and restaurant are now closed, victims of the events of recent years, but precise, friendly and impeccable service at the reception and at the breakfast counter. The location would not even be too far from Genoa, especially considering the price and ease of parking, but very limited in travel times due to the state of traffic on the highway.

18/05/2025: This is an excellent place if you just want to come to enjoy the setting. The music is very soft, and it’s a perfect place to read a book on your own if you are a solo diner. It’s mainly a Pizzeria but also serve some steak as a side option do not under any circumstance or their own Amaro.Its called Basanotto. It’s basically mix between Limoncello washing up liquid and chemical basil. Absolutely revolting.

14/04/2025: Neapolitan pizza with a high (and chewy) edge and very thin in the center. Not my favorite type of pizza. Excellent ingredients. Medium-high prices. Long waiting times.

30/08/2025: With a reservation for seven people, I find two round tables, a carefully crafted silver table setting, excellent bread accompanied by a small plate of mountain butter, and a wine list that reads like a dictionary, and unfortunately, the wine we chose is sold out. This is where the small inconveniences begin. My appetizer, brandacujun stockfish, was excellent, hot, with excellent olives. The same cannot be said for my friends' breaded Monterosso anchovies, which had a slightly worn flavor. Meanwhile, the 10-year-old girl awaits her dish without the slightest attention. The first course: tagliatelle with small-sized scampi in a smoky-flavored bisque, cold and overcooked. The spaghetti with clams was borderline acceptable. Ravioli were served in a used gravy boat, like a carafe, without a spoon or a saucer. Obviously, since I couldn't eat, they asked me, and I replied that I didn't like it. Then the chef showed up, hatless, from the kitchen where another person in civilian clothes was milling around, and insistently demanded explanations, which I promptly provided. He insisted that everything was fresh and the other table had already eaten... We got up and got discounted on the two first courses. 15/04/2025: Located in a small square in historic Genoa. Outside tables and basic service. Focaccia, savory pies and farinata, delicious and freshly cooked.

02/10/2025: 3€ for a spoiled capuccino Got SCAMMED. Sat and drank a capuccino. Got charged double the price because I sat "outside" and they have a small poster menu hidden behind the door that says that... no forewarning, gentle disclosure, just tourist trapping. They even gave me a rancid coffee, which afterwards they explained they had washed the spoon in vinegar.

30/09/2025: The waitress is rude and has treated several customers poorly. The beer is far too expensive for this place. I would avoid it because it doesn't make you feel comfortable.
