10/11/2025: Excellent pizza and desserts, even gluten-free...absolutely recommended

07/11/2025: Good pizzas, but we were disappointed with the pricing. To make some changes, instead of just adding the necessary surcharges, they made us start with more expensive pizzas and added the extras anyway, charging us more toppings. This isn't very fair to customers. My girlfriend ordered a stracchino rossa with fries; the menu includes the Fonzie (tomato, mozzarella, and fries €8.50). The bill, however, charged for a stracchinella with tomato and fries (€12.50 total). I ordered the Homer and asked for mozzarella instead of stracchino (€12.50 total). A real shame, because the pizzas were good, but these practices leave a bitter taste in the mouth and put off the desire to return.

13/11/2025: Having seen Joe Bastianich's show, we were curious to check out this little restaurant, which came in second place for best Genoese pesto. Rather than a restaurant, I prefer to call it a trattoria, also because it's split between two locations across the street from each other in the historic center. Both locations are small but welcoming and personalized, with that "rustic" touch that never hurts. The staff were extremely kind and courteous; they welcomed us like they were at home and then moved our table without a hitch. We ordered and shared two different first courses, wanting to try the famous "Mandilli al pesto" (Pesto Mandilli), featured in the TV competition, plus the "Ravioli al sugo" (Ravioli with tomato sauce), and we were satisfied. The desserts were amazing, and the oil used, which we tried raw on the bread, was truly excellent. The prices and cuisine go hand in hand, and we paid a fair price for what we consumed. I recommend it without hesitation.

15/10/2025: Simply SUPERLATIVE Focaccia, all kinds of bread, panettone, hollandaise...all incredibly excellent. Clean place, very friendly staff. Excellent value for money. Walking in is like walking into the bakery my parents ran. ❤️

02/10/2025: The pizza was very good (and there was a great variety to choose from), the staff were friendly but the waiting times were a bit long, the table layout was a bit too noisy and a bit chaotic.

22/09/2025: I found this place by accident. They serve very fast and the pizzas are very tasty. Also the girl waitress speak English which makes it very convenient to order.

12/10/2025: A historic Genoese restaurant, the owner Viviana is extremely kind and professional, always smiling, which is truly rare in Genoa. P.S. The aperitif was made to order with simple but quality appetizers.

05/10/2025: Nooo where has the previous management gone because you feel abandoned, they tell you they'll bring you two chips for the ape and nothing.... The service is terrible, what a shame after the aperitif it was my habit to literally eat the world. It was my favorite place.

20/10/2025: I used to go there a few years ago, even though it was already quite expensive, it was worth it because the products were good. Last night I went back by chance and it was a unique disappointment. In the internal kiosk, the neon lights shine directly into your eyes, dazzling you and already making you want to leave. I bought two cutting boards and two non-alcoholic aperitifs, two slices of ham and 4 or 5 rosticini. I asked them if they could put an arancini on the cutting board. They used to do that, but they replied that if anything, it had to be purchased separately (the cutting board so meager cost us €15 each). They brought us a small appetizer fork. When I asked for a knife, they gave me the plastic cutlery in a bag that you find in supermarket salad bars. I felt ashamed for them. The place would have enormous potential if it were managed with passion, because the Sicilian specialties they produce are truly Sicilian, but I think Mr. Paolo's desire for commitment has now faded. I definitely won't be going back. At most, I'll buy the products to consume at home!!

18/10/2025: I'm returning to Don Paolo after two years, because he's the only one in Genoa who makes a more than decent Sicilian granita with brioche. I should note that in two years the price has increased by 20%, but not only that... unfortunately, the quantity of granita has decreased by another 20%... now served in a glass of water. As for the quality, however, there's nothing to complain about. Always good. Dear Don Paolo... you've built a reputation in Genoa... but be careful not to ruin it with these little things. The price increase is fine, but make sure you fix the quantity: you need a glass at least 50% larger than the one you get now. Don't be a slouch, and above all, don't ruin the image of Sicily and its oriental granita. A native of Catania, that's my word.

23/09/2025: The aperitifs here are truly spectacular! 🥂 The generous portions they bring with your drinks are so generous they practically replace dinner. The cocktails are delicious, carefully prepared, and always perfect. A special thanks goes to Michelle, the kindest and most charming waitress we've ever met: always smiling, attentive, and helpful... she'd almost become one of our family. 💛 Highly recommended, especially if you want to spend a pleasant evening with great food, drinks, and good company!

19/09/2025: We were truly satisfied with our stay at this hotel. The staff is very friendly and helpful, attentive to guests' needs. The rooms are clean and comfortable, and the food is excellent. The beach is also a convenient option. Thanks to Mr. Repetto and all his staff. We will definitely be back.

14/09/2025: The hotel is in a beautiful location, but unfortunately our experience wasn't a positive one. The photos online don't reflect reality: they show an outside restaurant, while with the guesthouse, meals are served in a basement. The menu is limited and monotonous. Our room had a faulty toilet that kept making noise; despite reporting it and attempting to have it repaired, the problem was never resolved. Finally, the icing on the cake: they even charged us for a beach towel. Overall, we didn't enjoy our stay and wouldn't return. Parking is excessive at €20.

01/10/2025: We were totally disappointed. We drank two Campari Spritzes (€10 each) and didn't get the aperitivo platter (snacks) as is common in Liguria. Better to go to another bar. Elsewhere, you can get a Campari Spritz for €7 and free snacks. This is a rip-off!

08/11/2025: This is really just my personal opinion. I'm sorry, but I can't be satisfied with the disappointing quality/price ratio. Located in a perfect spot above Sestri Ponente, nothing particularly beautiful, but not bad either. 2 rooms with as many seats as they can fit... Traditional set menu. Appetizers with objectively mediocre cured meats, stuffed with Genoese-style vegetables and stuffed with potatoes, which I disliked. The fish salad was flavorless, and the anchovies marinated in vinegar were very good. Good first courses: seafood risotto with pink shrimp, calamari, and mussels, good; Genoese-style ravioli, good. Mixed fried fish with the aforementioned fish, fried well. A slice of apple pie, tiramisu, or panna cotta, okay. The house wine is unpresentable; they only offer two bottles of red wine, one Dolcetto and one Barbera. My bill is €45 per person, plus the cost of wine and water. Of course, I'm used to spending that amount, but given the type of offer, I expected more...

10/03/2025: purtroppo avrei voluto fare una bella recensione, ma x la seconda volta ad un’ora decente (19.15 l’8 marzo scorso una volta e 12 la precedente qualche settimana fa) abbiamo chiamato x prenotare ma… “eh mi dispiace ma stiamo chiudendo… (??) “ e “ no siamo pieni” allora mi affretto a dire… siamo solo due e ci basta un insalata…. e la risposta … da ligure … come solo io che sono ligure capisco… no mi spiace …e niente ….non RIUSCIAMO. mah ok .. ho capito !!siamo alle solite! accoglienza genovese… peccato. credo che non proveremo piu … ho abitato a pra quando prima del porto c’era il mare … quello bello!! ci ho imparato a nuotare … lì davanti…volevo tornarci… anche solo x un pasto veloce. ma credo che non chiameremo più! in bocca al lupo di passaggio!!! 😃🥹

01/03/2025: Home cooking. Overall, the food is good. We're not in the center of Genoa, but if you're nearby (Genova Pra'), it's worth stopping for lunch.
