22/02/2025: Quality and courtesy are the summary of this wine shop/restaurant/braceria. The owners are exquisite people, very kind and helpful: in this place you feel at home and you are always pampered. The menu alternates gourmet combinations with traditional dishes. Special mention to the meats: always excellent cooking and preparation. As a wine shop, it would be superfluous to discuss the wine list... Al Marmo is a real gem in the Sestri Ponente district.

17/03/2025: The Trattoria "Al Serraglio" is a delightful place located on the hills behind Sori. We had the opportunity to eat there for a private party. At first, reaching the place is not easy, but the journey is absolutely worth it. The view you witness is worth every drop of fuel spent (yes, unless you want to wait for a shuttle that goes up twice a day on weekdays). Second, the dishes are amazing. Many Ligurian specialties are available on the menu. The starters and first courses did not fully meet our expectations, while the second courses passed all the tests. Small flaw in addition to the criticism of the quantities: the waiting times. It must be said, we were a table of around 20 people. However, we waited an average of 30-45 minutes between courses. Also complicating things (and the review) is the fact that the second courses were brought in multiple tranches, thus precluding the possibility of enjoying them together (another 5-10 minutes of waiting between one second and another for another customer). In short, the place is magnificent and the dishes extremely good. We need to review the service, perhaps it is quicker for small tables. All in all, it is a place that deserves it, which is why I leave 5 stars with the hope that these aspects will be revised.

15/02/2025: Small restaurant with spectacular views of the Portofino promontory. The famous focaccias are excellent. The cod is excellent. Friendly staff. Very good prices. Highly recommended! Book well in advance.

09/04/2025: Very nice establishment, the rooms are very good, the breakfast buffet is varied with fresh fruit and homemade pastries, the private spa a real moment of relaxation.

08/04/2025: Room N⁰327, large and bright, in beige tones, which offers a beautiful view of the sea. The staff is friendly, helpful and professional. I recommend and I will come back.

01/04/2025: Unfortunately the savory pies were not sold by weight nor could mixed dishes be made, the portions were already prepared and you could only choose one type of dish. Too bad, because I would have tasted almost all of them! The cod was too salty, the rest was very good, including the dessert.

14/04/2025: I returned after about 15 years because I had a good memory of the Parmesan pizza with aubergines, enjoyed several times during lunch breaks back then... I was disappointed because the pizza was no longer the same, with little tomato sauce and with the aubergines not well assembled together.... the pizza chef will certainly never have been the same!

08/02/2025: bread is available in various types. very good in flavour. quite heavy so be prepared to spend. the focaccia, on the other hand, is terrible, soft and bad (and not given as a gift). looking at the counter from the front, the focaccia was on the right. it was around 10.15am, I asked for a piece of focaccia and was charged on the receipt as Ligurian focaccia, around 2 euros for a piece.

23/11/2024: Bakery in the center of Genoa, offering different types of bread and stuffed pockets similar to focaccia. Excellent sandwiches and salads can be consumed on site.

06/03/2025: Prenotiamo per telefono e ci viene chiesto se ci sono commensali intolleranti e se sia un'occasione speciale: in entrambi i casi la risposta è sì (intolleranza ai latticini e anniversario). All'ingresso ci vengono dati due menu, di cui uno solo riporta la lista degli allergeni: scopriamo quindi quasi per caso che praticamente in tutti i piatti è presente burro o qualche altro latticino, cosa alquanto insolita per un ristorante di pesce in Liguria. Facciamo presente la cosa alla padrona di casa, che inizia un panegirico della filosofia culinaria di altissima scuola transalpina cui lo chef ha dedicato la sua esistenza e ci preannuncia che sarà impossibile modificare i piatti del menu (l'unica proposta priva di latticini sarebbe un "formaggioide" a base di tofu, anche no grazie). Non riassumo la successiva, surreale conversazione (leggendo le altre recensioni mi sono reso conto che poteva anche andare peggio) ma a distanza di tempo non mi è ancora passato il fastidio per la doppia scorrettezza: anzitutto, se al telefono ti dico che ci sono problemi coi latticini, devi SUBITO dirmi che l'unico piatto ordinabile è il tofu (e magari, una volta emerso il problema, puoi risparmiarti di dirci che "forse abbiamo sbagliato locale", lo stavamo già capendo da soli grazie). Seconda scorrettezza ancora più grave: una volta che siamo riusciti a mettere insieme un'ordinazione, inclusa una piccola modifica a un piatto del menu, la signora (apparentemente) "offre" a mia moglie un calice di Franciacorta, per chiudere una discussione che era stata fin troppo lunga e non esattamente piacevole: l'offerta è accettata limitatamente a "due dita" per educazione per stemperare l'atmosfera, e in effetti vengono versate solo due dita di spumante: salvo poi scoprire che nel conto l'"offerta" era stato contabilizzata (alla modica cifra di 13 €) come un calice "intero"... Per il resto, che dire... posizione fantastica, cucina, come si può immaginare, un po' pretenziosa, prezzo alto.

02/03/2025: I trusted the reviews and I did well. Sunday lunch, excellent Kindness of the staff, a flut offered with lunch entry, congratulations, it's not for everyone. The portions of the dishes are plentiful. My trofie, delicious as well as my tuna and my husband's spaghetti with clams and fried food. We will definitely be back... Thank you

25/03/2025: Unexpected discovery in the center of Genoa. Old covered market with fresh fruit and vegetables; fresh and frozen fish; bread; everything well taken care of. In the center a space for catering with typical dishes from various parts of the world and of course Liguria. Kind and helpful staff, everything very clean.

04/04/2025: We live in the area and brought one of our friends here for dinner. She was amazed by the food and the friendly owner. We ate seafood which was fresh and delicious, we will definitely be back in the future!
