05/10/2025: We all opted for the raspberry ice cream, so we didn't try the other flavors. But the raspberry one was very good. The lady was also nice and the prices are reasonable.

23/05/2025: È raro uscire da un ristorante con la sensazione di aver vissuto qualcosa di davvero speciale, ma è esattamente quello che è successo dopo la cena da Hostaria Ducale. Ci siamo trovati lì quasi per caso, in una serata genovese di pioggia leggera, e sin dall’ingresso abbiamo percepito una cura fuori dal comune. Il locale è raccolto, intimo, arredato con gusto ma senza ostentazioni. Non c'è musica di sottofondo: solo voci basse, piatti che arrivano con grazia, e una certa sospensione del tempo. Il servizio è stato impeccabile. I camerieri si muovono in silenzio, presenti ma mai invadenti. Una ragazza in particolare ci ha accompagnati per tutta la cena con discrezione e gentilezza, rispondendo alle nostre curiosità con chiarezza e senza fretta. Non c’è nulla di affettato nei loro modi: si sente che ci tengono davvero a farti stare bene. Abbiamo scelto il percorso degustazione da otto portate, e ogni piatto è stato un piccolo viaggio. Indimenticabile il risotto con anguilla affumicata, un equilibrio perfetto tra cremosità, affumicatura e acidità. Il piccione con foie gras è arrivato come un’opera teatrale ben costruita: cottura magistrale, sapori profondi, senza eccessi. Anche i dessert, spesso trascurati altrove, qui brillano per inventiva e precisione.

06/10/2025: We love having aperitivo at this bar because it has tables in one of my favorite squares in downtown Genoa. The service is fast and the drinks are always well-made. They also serve reasonably priced snacks. Highly recommended!

05/10/2025: We went for an aperitif outside of opening hours (2:30 PM). They told us it was no problem, we could sit down and they'd clean the table. The table was never cleaned. We asked if they could provide two chips, and they said "yes," but they didn't bring them. We asked for the chips, and they brought them (the cocktail and wine were practically finished by then). They told us more was on the way. The other food never arrived, and the table was always dirty.

06/11/2025: We had a truly delicious lunch with quality products and simple, traditional dishes. Gluten-free options, very attentive staff; their granddaughter is celiac. Excellent value for money. We'll definitely be back. Highly recommended.

26/11/2025: I'd like to know why, last night, November 25th, when I stopped in for dinner—I've been a longtime customer—I paid €22. One first course, one second course, one side dish, a quart of red wine, and a bottle of water. So, no coffee, bittersweet. I read that Mr. Andrea Vitiello paid €15 a week ago. Also, the plain white napkins, let's say the cheapest ones, aren't suitable for a place that charges €22. I'm not talking about the cloth napkins (which I'm surprised to find) in other places, but there are better ones; it's just a matter of spending a few cents more. Meal prices should be listed on the menu. And to think that I've been registered for years, in fact, they even issued me the invoice. Today for lunch, I stopped at Basso Lodigiano (at Buratti), for a first course, one second course, one side dish (it was more complete), water, and coffee (no wine). I still paid €14. The prices are on the menu, and the napkins are much higher. I'm sorry, in my opinion, they went too far in increasing the prices

13/11/2025: A great family restaurant with excellent food and very friendly staff. They have some fantastic vegetarian dishes that are a bit out of the ordinary, as well as a vegan menu. We had a wonderful evening! We'll be back!

11/11/2025: Let me start with the food itself: it was excellent. However, the problem started when we had to order both drinks and food at the same time. We wanted to have a drink first and then leisurely peruse the menu. That wasn't possible: it was the restaurant's policy, they said. After we had finished our food and wanted to drink our wine at our leisure, the manager/owner moved our table a bit further away so more guests could sit at a larger table. When I told him I didn't want that (he asked permission, but he wasn't interested in the answer), he simply apologized and simply pushed our table away from us. We immediately paid and left. Conclusion: this restaurant is focused on high and fast turnover. Guests should feel comfortable and at home in a restaurant, and the restaurant should be happy to welcome every guest warmly. Those rules don't apply here: a lot of stress, unrest, a quick meal, and a quick departure for the next guest—that's the policy.

11/11/2025: We went for lunch today; we booked based on the great reviews. It was a wonderful surprise, both for the excellent dishes and the very friendly and kind staff. I ate really well; the calamari melted in my mouth, amazing! I would recommend all the dishes we chose, they were all excellent! Highly recommended! We will definitely be back!

09/12/2025: I visited around 1:00 PM on November 29, 2025. Since it's by the sea, I ordered seafood pasta. They also had seafood fried rice, so I was thinking about ordering those, but looking at the photos, the base looked exactly the same, so I ended up ordering tomato vongole pasta and pesto pasta. In conclusion, everything was delicious, but the seafood pasta was the best. I can't believe how they captured the flavor of the seafood so well. Trust me, and just order the seafood pasta. Even as I'm writing this review, I regret not ordering the fried rice as well. If you're wondering what to eat, just order both. The staff and the owner are all so friendly. We had a great time! La Spezia was a stop on the way to Cinque Terre, and the quiet atmosphere of the city made it hard to leave so quickly. (Update) This was the best meal I had during my 15-night, 17-day trip to Italy. The second-best was the shrimp oil pasta I had in Verona. If you come here, you absolutely must try the seafood pasta, "Furte di Mare."
