This restaurant was definitely off the road but well worth the visit. It's pretty popular so if you get there during the lunch hour be prepared to wait. The food is definitely worth waiting for in the view is absolutely beautiful.

The trattoria has been run by the Malatesta family for two centuries. Mother and elderly aunt in the kitchen, daughters Mara and her sister in the dining room. The truly excellent local cuisine, the atmosphere, and the family feel, along with excellent value, are unparalleled, so much so that it's worth traveling with my wife from Camogli two or three times a week. A trattoria that's always busy, open only on weekdays and Sunday lunchtime, and not on Saturdays, because the goal isn't to maximize profits, but to support the family. You can feel the beauty of the past, and I hope a place like this continues to exist.

I had lunch today at Trattoria Malatesta, a place I'd been to as a child with relatives. Absolutely recommended; everything was delicious and excellent value, with courtesy and customer service guaranteed. I'll definitely be back! I highly recommend booking in advance, as they're almost always packed, especially on weekends.

Trattoria in the Ligurian hinterland, excellent dishes, warm and welcoming service and atmosphere. A small flaw: highlighting your favourite team in a commercial activity could put off some of the clientele.

It's been too long since I've been back to this trattoria, and rediscovering what I left behind was a pleasure. It's a simple place, as the hinterland demands, but being pampered with a sincere smile and exquisite kindness is priceless, as is the quality of the dishes and the good wine. I won't let this much time pass again. I promise.

Typical Ligurian trattoria, a bit "out of the way" and with no parking, so park your car along the road. Simple decor but remarkable food, with mixed cured meat appetizers, savory tart, boiled tongue, ravioli with meat sauce or mushroom sauce, goat stew (delicious), homemade desserts or fruit salad, wine, and coffee. Absolutely reasonable price. Recommended.

I happened to be in San Maurizio di Monti because an ancestor of mine was born there in 1794. Not surprisingly, there are still lots of people with the old family names. Given the small size and remoteness of the location, I didn't know what to expect from the Trattoria. After glimpsing the kitchen I was encouraged. The meal was amazing! Fresh pasta ravioli, rabbit in herbs and garlic, a catalana, and espresso were all exemplary. With coperto and two bottles of water, the total was 22 Euros. No wonder the place was packed!

An excellent family-run trattoria, excellent menu, excellent service and even better value for money.
