As a farewell gift, we were given a cheese to take home. Thank you so much, it was a lovely experience and the food was fantastic.

12/05/2025: Delicious pumpkin soup with rosemary croutons. The best gnochi I have ever eaten - with nettle, with butter and nuts. The taste buds go crazy 😀 And licorice and limonechello liqueur for digestion at the end of the service before leaving - I recommend it. The best Italian service! Thank you ❣️

02/05/2025: We arrived today at the restaurant at 9:55 pm, because it said open until 11 pm, and i was told by the kind waiter that the chef said that he decided to close the kitchen an hour early. And this is after we walked 30 minutes to the restaurant tired and hungry, really that was Absolutely unprofessional. In the menu it says chefs special is based on his mood. You can now learn from this review, that EVERYTHING IS BASED ON HIS MOOD

22/05/2025: Accueil très chaleureux. Les propriétaires sont vraiment très gentils et accueillants. La cuisine est goûteuse, savoureuse. Les desserts sont également très bons: la tarte aux pommes et le fondant au chocolat sont des délices. L’addition est plus que raisonnable. Très bon rapport qualité prix.

30/05/2025: Ogni volta che passiamo da Verona, "al Pompiere " è per noi una tappa d'obbligo.Il ristorante si trova a due passi da piazza delle Erbe ma in una viuzza latrerale non percorsa dalle fiumane di turisti che riempiono la città in qualsiasi stagione dell'anno. All'interno l'atmosfera è calda e accogliente, in qualsiasi periodo dell'anno. Il personale attento e gentilissimo, i tempi d'attesa non eccessivi anche quando il locale è pieno. Questa sera abbiamo scelto un antipasto di asparagi bianchi e verdi con frittatina, una crema di piselli con taccole a dir poco favolosa e un piatto di gnocchi con finferli. Quindi siamo passati direttamente al dessert e abbiamo preso un semifreddo all'amaretto su zabaione al Vinsanto e polvere di caffè, anche questa superlativa. Complimenti allo chef per tutto, con un piccolo appunto agli gnocchi dove l'eccesso di burro copriva quasi del tutto il sapore dei finferli. A parte questo, il ristorante "al Pompiere" si rivela sempre un'ottima scelta. Prezzi piuttosto sostenuti ma in linea con la qualità.

18/04/2025: Magnificent location in an oasis of peace among the Veronese valleys. The Prestige room is large and equipped with everything you need for a true retreat. The rich and abundant breakfast with local and natural products to support local producers. The Tasting Menu dinner, 6-7 courses, is a sensorial experience of the highest level. The Amarone Experience tasting, with 5 wines from different vintages, is an exciting discovery that lets you savor real high-quality wine. Impeccable cuisine, very kind and extremely professional staff. The location is wonderful and evocative with a view of the Veronese hills and the Po Valley. Possibility to visit the cellar and see the entire production process. Only flaw: leaving.

27/05/2025: If you're vegetarian, skip it. Totally not worth it. Across 4 cities in Italy we've been to, this was such a disappointment. The only redeeming factor was the pea foam appetizer and the spinach side dish lol. The tiramisu was decent. The mains, just skip it. You're paying for boiled eggs (2nd course) and a basic risotto (1st course).

08/05/2025: When the chef makes local proposals, looks at what is close, collects tradition and does not want his field of action to go beyond what his eyes see at that moment, the kitchen takes on the value of testimony and offers an enviable reality. At Al vecchio forno, with a beautiful interior room, it is enjoyed because there is truth on the plate and it offers a choice of products that speak of what is close. Both on the plate and in the glasses. It is a growing cuisine that if it left behind some fashionable gestures it could consolidate its dishes more strongly. But what has been proven is remarkable. From the delicate homemade butter to her warm breads, we feel the love for the work and the attention that the owner exudes. Delicious lake fish tartare. The pastas, whether the bigoli with lake sardine, or the Lucio one, are magnificent. The proven meats, lamb and pork tenderloin, were tasty but should offer a greater search for the result to be more surprising and brilliant. Beautiful and careful glasses. Very delicate atmosphere and great music that accompanies the room, creating a friendly atmosphere. Surprisingly correct prices. Attentive service and a wine list with extensive local coverage, which enhances the experience. It deserves a visit, and to make this effort more recognized. Absolutely recommended. It's worth the trip.

03/06/2025: Little disappointing - we expected something different after reading the reviews. Food seemed to be fresh out of the microwave, ready after 5-10min, medium cold and sticky without too much flavor. Cannot recommed to be honest.

01/06/2025: My girlfriend and I went for dinner. Affordable prices and excellent quality in the dishes. Homemade products, typical of Veneto and Trentino such as canederli or gnocchi with pumpkin cream and tastasal. Excellent quality wines. A breathtaking view and the most important thing, very kind owners and staff. Super fast service and very good products! We also chose a bottle of Trento doc 2020 borgo dei posseri sparkling wine. We had such a good time that we came back the next day for lunch! If we were to return to those areas we will definitely come to visit you! Thanks for the hospitality! P.S. Thanks for telling us the true pronunciation of canederli, next time we won't make mistakes 😉😂

04/06/2025: The pizza was really good—fresh, tasty, and crispy. The service was friendly and quick, which made the visit very pleasant. A particularly nice touch: There's always live music on Mondays, which creates a great atmosphere! One small downside is the rather limited selection of pasta dishes on the menu. However, if you're primarily coming for pizza, this is a good place to go.

02/06/2025: Excellent place even before the internal renovation that expanded and embellished the inside. Welcoming owner, kind and available in presenting and explaining the dishes, the origins of the products used with a nice promotion of zero km dishes and above all locally produced oil, cheeses, vegetables and meats. Well-prepared dishes, equally good pizzas. Highly recommended for everyone and for families with an outdoor garden, mini playground for children and a spacious rustic wooden veranda.
