26/10/2025: A very nice refuge, good food, but unfortunately, friendliness and courtesy aren't the managers' strong points. Furthermore, the prices are excessively high compared to other refuges in the area offering comparable service.

26/09/2025: I received a gift of an overnight stay for my wife and I, but for various reasons (including the unavailability of rooms in mid-July), I couldn't go. Only today did I discover (the website didn't mention it) that, unlike other refuges in the Valley, the Chaligne will close tomorrow. I asked if I could use the voucher next year, paying any difference due to the price increase, but I was told that the voucher is only valid for 2025 and therefore no longer usable. This response confirmed the numerous negative reviews about the management's behavior. They will certainly never see me again. TIP: AVOID PURCHASING OR GIVING GIFTS IF YOU ARE UNSURE YOU CAN USE THEM. In response to this review, I received an email from the owner advising me to organize myself better to use the gifts I received. I'll leave it up to the reader to decide on their behavior toward customers, which confirms several other reviews.

17/12/2025: Mediocre food, terrible experience... the waiter who served us wasn't clear about the prices and continually tried to scam us by giving us unclear information. We went in because the sign said a student menu for €3, but the waiter made up a thousand excuses why that offer wasn't worth it, even though we were students. When we asked for our pizza of choice: Pizza kebab, we were asked if we wanted sauces on top, and he automatically changed our order to the Turkish pizza, which cost €14 instead of €12. The pizza prices on the menu are completely unclear, and it seems designed to confuse the customer... I definitely won't be returning, and I don't recommend it!

02/01/2026: Stayed for a week and as a 193 cm long man the beds are too small. My feet would dangle off the edge of the bed at my calves. On top of this the beds and pillows are incredibly hard and uncomfortable. The room overall looks nice but is a bit worn. The restaurant is not great when it comes to service 3/6 times they forgot our order, spent an average of 1.5 hours waiting for food, no form of compensation. Food is of good quality though and was included in our package (maybe this is why we were set aside/unprioritized) location is 10/10 right by ski lifts. Sauna/spa area is ok Update: Recieved a very nice pillow and regrets for our experience, i would like to emphasize that the staff have all been extremely friendly and accommodating

11/12/2025: Excellent hotel, not exactly a 4-star, excellent food, 50 meters from the ski slopes. Highly recommended.

04/02/2026: Ordered two takeout pizzas yesterday, tuna/onion and Margherita. Both my friend and I were sick all night and only ate the two pizzas. Shameful.

25/02/2025: Panino ok ma freddo. Abbiamo chiesto delle salse ma non erano previste. Le abbiamo chieste per le patatine ma non erano disponibili. Mi chiedo , sei così insicuro del tuo prodotto da dover obbligare i clienti a mangiarlo proprio come vuoi tu, senza nemmeno poter aggiungere una salsa?! Se le hai finite ,Dubito che ci torneremo.

04/01/2026: Tragic service. Was not seated upon entrance. We were asked to move tables by the waitress and had to move our own cutlery, glasses, and placemats as she watched. Surreal… Carbonara was double salted and inedible, but was served out anyway. Margherita and bolognese were ok. Final nail in the coffin, the staff picked up plates before we were done, including a coaster from under my cup.

18/01/2026: We found a mountain-style café, very warm and welcoming. We had a breakfast with a croissant and a generous ginseng coffee at a fair price. A good choice. #LilloWieW

20/09/2025: Was fairly happy here after a long day hiking but a few things to take note of - the comfort room is nice for a couple but it is a single bed with a single mattress so if you are two older guys this does not really work. Food is good and plentiful but dinner at 8 pm seems a bit later and no WiFi until 8:30 or so is not a great selling point. That said, room was clean, showers are hot and meals were OK so not too much to complain about. Not the best Refugio but very far from the worst.

05/01/2026: Super friendly and welcoming. Excellent food made with farm produce. Simple, authentic, and reasonably priced. Away from the hustle and bustle of skiing.

20/08/2025: Poor value for money. You eat little and spend a lot, plus the meals are anything but typical.

01/01/2026: Lack of flexibility and poor attention to vegetarians: A very disappointing experience. I simply asked for a sandwich without the ham, but they said no because they were "too busy." The result? As a vegetarian, the only option available was fries. It seems absurd to me that in 2026, you can't do something as simple as removing a slice of ham from a sandwich to accommodate a customer. The organization doesn't justify this lack of courtesy.

07/02/2026: I called at 6:30 PM for two pizzas and was told I could choose the time, so I kindly requested the pizzas arrive at 7:00 PM. I called at 7:15 PM and the guy still had to leave! I called twice, it's 7:40 PM and a car pulls up outside my house, reverses, and drives away!!!!!! I call back and they don't answer!!!!! THIS IS MADNESS!!!!!

31/01/2026: Shame!!!! I placed an order at 8:30 PM and at 9:25 PM it was canceled for no reason, via text message. Absolutely avoid. Terrible. If there was a chance, I would have given zero stars.

07/03/2026: Poor quality, terrible Spa I have emailed the Gen Manager, Pamela 4 times and the front desk, and I have not reply. Have tried calling them 4 times and never do they connect me to the manager. Below is the email text that I sent. Hello Pamela, nice to meet you earlier, as discussed I would like to send feedback to you and the owners regarding my stay. The hotel itself I appreciate is an old building and has a grande heritage and history. The marketing and the pricing of the hotel imply high quality furnishings and services. Unfortunately the reality is not true. As I am sure you know the hotel is in desperate need of improvement and investment. In no way is the hotel a 5 star luxury experience. The bathrooms are of poor quality, in room 506 the bath surround is covered in poorly applied silicone. Room 507 shower door is broken and very small. The Spa is such low quality, the steam room is a health hazard not only due to its condition but also the cleanliness, it is disgraceful to sell this service. The dip pool is in the dark and I think had no water The gym area is cluttered, dirty, dangerous and no the entrance to the pool is torn and a poorly maintained . So much rotten unpainted wood and rust on the gym equipment. No where to put towel or dressing gown when entering pool In the bar area the ceiling in places is stained and peeling away from the ceiling The breakfast room has an emergency door hidden behind a curtain with rust and foam in the seams The lift interior is poor condition Two times a lady entered my room without knocking when I was there. The floor carpet in the corridor on floor 5 is dirty The reception area seats are dirty and stained My room had an interconnecting door through which I could hear my neighbours every move, snore and private intimate activities. The list could go on and on I sympathise with you as GM if the owners will not finance the hotel. But it is disgraceful for a beautiful hotel to market itself as 5 star and charge over €600 per night. We spent €6600 for 5 nights and I consider this to be a deception and fraud. Above are my point and I need to inform you of this in the hope something can be done and I need to inform people who are considering staying with you of the reality of the poor standard of the hotel

13/09/2025: Highly not recommended! A plate of pasta all'arrabbiata, which had nothing spicy about it, just a little bit of sauce thrown on top and tasteless! A pizza with cooked ham and chips, terrible sauce, tasteless, flavorless, etc.
