Rifugio Chaligne In Gignod

With an easy walk you can reach this beautiful refuge from which you can enjoy a wonderful view. Unfortunately I didn't have lunch but only had breakfast, very clean and comfortable place, very kind staff. Just below the refuge there is a mountain pasture where you can buy some truly spectacular fontina cheese

I had been meaning to stop at this refuge for some time, so we booked for lunch and went up calmly (with a child), arriving early anyway. We took the opportunity to sit in the bar area outside and enjoy a relaxing glass of wine. At lunch time, which we had booked inside given the cool day, we were welcomed in the beautiful room on the upper floor by truly friendly and helpful staff. An essential start is with teteun with green sauce, then chestnut flour crepe with speck and fontina, polenta with Bleu d'Aoste and roe deer in civet with concia polenta. To conclude, Chaligne cake and a cup of stratospheric cream with toretto. Everything in generous portions and absolutely delicious! We left enthusiastic, both for the welcome we received and for the quality of the dishes. Compliments!

Beautiful, welcoming, not difficult climb suitable for almost everyone, excellent and plentiful cuisine at affordable prices.

Situato in una zona poco frequentata a Gestione famigliare con cibi di alta qualità e un servizio informale ti fa venire la voglia di ritornare con amici e parenti.

Ottima location, personale educato e disponibile, facile da raggiungere, panorama mozzafiato, ottime le offerte di servizi, come sauna, casette a cielo aperto ecc. ecc.; una piccola nota, il tagliere di formaggi è il più streminzito che abbia mai ricevuto in tutti i rifugi della Valle d'Aosta e se dico tutti, credetemi che intendo proprio tutti perché li ho visitati e pranzato in tutti....l'ho anche detto e fatto notare alla cassa....prezzi adeguati ai competitors.

Sentiero percorribile, possibilità di salire per la strada addolcendo la salita. Il rifugio sembra nuovissimo, interessanti le Star Box (che non abbiamo provato) e la stanza del fieno, peccato che i tavoli esterni non si possono usare per fare pic nic, sono riservati ai clienti del ristorante e del bar.

If you are looking for a traditional easy going mountain hut, refuge Chaligne is not for you. It is a beautiful elegant stylish mountain hut where you can sleep in Starsbox for a unique (and pricey) experience. (wooden tiny houses with a removable roof). Very good food.

Rifugio grazioso. Tenuto molto bene sia all’ esterno che all’ interno. Abbiamo pranzato mia figlia ed io. Pochissima scelta nel menu. Polenta con bleu d’ Aoste piuttosto salata, crespella (una solamente!!) con erbe di montagna inondata di panna liquida, così come anche la torta. Peccato, per il prezzo avrei gradito un po’ più di attenzione alla preparazione delle pietanze…
