01/02/2025: An extraordinary place, facing the highest famous peaks in Europe: the view is exceptional, it is a calm place filled with serenity. The staff is just exceptional, especially Stéphanie at reception, Etoré at service and Iris for massages, but all the staff are available, attentive and very professional. Our stays are always short, in summer and winter, but each time it is a magnificent experience.

27/01/2025: What a lovely holiday we had at the Hotellerie De Mascognaz. We were there or a January weekend with friends and had the most wonderful time in this snowy paradise. Rooms: lovely rustic wood rooms with character and charm - each room was cozy and warm and had unique features - our room had a cushioned filled reading nook. Our friends room had stone stairs leading to a loft area. decorated tastefully with lots of textures and earthy colours - it was so inviting and comfortable. bathrooms were open for our room and tall hubby had a bit of a challenge in the shower under the roof slope hence baths were in order. bathroom had expected amenities (toothbrush, shower caps, bathrobes, slippers, etc). Food: excellent food at the restaurant - we had some traditional pasta dishes and cheese dishes for lunches and enjoyed the richness and flavours. our dinner table was an old stone milling wheel! We sat on the winter balcony and enjoyed the views overlooking their little valley. Service: pick up from the car park was via a snowcat, one for our luggage and one for 6x guests - 20 min ride up the mountain which was a fun experience, service was excellent from reception to checkout, nothing left wanting, lovely wait staff and bartenders, and lovely room staff helpful and brought you extra towels or anything else you needed. Spa is nicely done with a warm pool and jacuzzi and a sauna room. Not huge but more than sufficient for the hotel size. They also have robes and slippers there too so no need to lug from your room. Hard to believe its classified as 4* as this was a really lovely hotel and staff. The rooms are in different buildings hence you have to walk outside to get to the spa or dinner - bring grippy boots. Once you get your head around that, its really a good experience too see the area. on a beautiful day, you will also hikers and their dogs also walk through the hotel ‘village’ too.

28/02/2025: If you are looking for a takeaway pizzeria with truly competitive prices, this is definitely a choice to take into consideration. The pizza is average, but the value for money is excellent, especially considering that it is difficult to find such low prices elsewhere. Another strong point is the speed of the service: orders are prepared quickly and delivery (or collection) is always on time. Furthermore, the pizzeria is located in a very convenient area, easily reachable both by car and on foot. Perfect for those who want a pizza without spending too much and without long waits. I will definitely be back!

25/01/2025: When you get home and the pizza is completely charred, what can I say... disappointing, I wouldn't have packaged a pizza like that and taken it out of the place but I would have thrown it away and luckily we weren't far from the pizzeria... yes yes the pizza was remade for me but the grimaces behind me were not very nice now I understand when other times during the long wait for the preparation other people asked to have a pizza that wasn't burnt... thank goodness that even though Aosta is small there are many pizzerias..

11/04/2025: This place is falling apart on all levels compared to a few years ago. Underwhelming food, poor service and bad organisation.

23/03/2025: Quarta volta che trovandoci in valle d'Aosta ci rechiamo in questo locale per cena, che dire, tutto ottimo dall'antipasto al dolce. I nostri bimbi anche loro accolti calorosamente dal gentilissimo personale hanno mangiato solo una piccola parte di quanto servito (porzioni varie, numerose e abbondanti) il proprietario ci ha così concesso un generoso sconto sul totale. La location inoltre è curata nei minimi dettagli con soffitti a volta, luci soffuse e splendidi arredi. Continuate così a presto Famiglia Nencioni

17/02/2025: Location molto bella, romantica, accogliente e calda. Personale nulla da dire. Cibo migliorabile, abbondanza c’è ne’si esce pieni, antipasti di produzione top, ma primo e secondo migliorabile. Prezzo nella norma, si paga il giusto calcolando i punti di forza.

28/02/2025: Despite almost being put off from a few reviews, we had a brilliant meal. It was delicious- I’m celiac and they were very accomodating and understanding for gluten free. Definitely recommend making sure to speak to the staff in advance and explain any dietaries. Obviously limited options but as expected.

28/02/2025: Great meal out - 6 of us including 1 celiac - the waiters were fantastic and the food was utterly delicious! Fast service with a smile, and the range of food was superb.

02/03/2025: Cibo molto buono, forse un po’ troppo caro per l’effettiva materia prima, ma è un ristorante tipico e autentico quindi ne vale la pena. Personale molto gentile, tranne una, un po’ “spocchiosina” (la signora mora), ma pazienza, lavorare con le persone non è sempre semplice. Ci hanno offerto un Genepì fatto in casa buonissimo!

21/03/2025: Stone, wood and a fireplace in the center make the atmosphere warm and comfortable. The Blue d'Aosta dumplings are excellent and deserve an extra mention. Overall good cuisine. Wide choice of craft beers that I like, but... there was no wine list, and here the choice is limited to those on display, without the price being indicated. The Pinot Noir chosen is from an excellent Introd winery, but frankly the price, of the wine in particular, seemed a little high. But frankly, having a beer meal with local cuisine is not exactly appropriate 😏

25/01/2025: Excellent rustic chalet with good food and ample availability of staff. Despite having mainly traditional food, as vegans we still ate excellent polenta with tomato and baked potatoes.

20/03/2025: A 45-minute wait for four ragu pasta dishes and one pesto pasta dish. Tiny portion for 15 euros. A 2-euro surcharge for a cover... PLASTIC! The pasta arrived cold. Overwhelmed staff, unable to handle anything at all, and rude when you make a comment. Absolutely avoid! The worst place in Italy I've ever been... Sad...

07/03/2025: Super nice discovery during our winter sports stay. Simple traditional dishes, but very good. Very pleasant staff. Fast service. A great place to eat along the slopes.

06/01/2025: Unfortunately I have to advise against it for winter campers. The pitch on sloping terrain was full of ice and snow. We had to fit the chains just to position the camper, wasting a lot of time. Excessive prices given the lack of maintenance of the pitches. The bathrooms are clean but the showers are paid and there is no camper service. €147 for 4 people for 3 nights. We won't be returning.

12/11/2024: Super friendly welcome. Top campsite. Clean sanitary facilities, small shop with everything you need for camping. I recommend.

09/03/2025: We went a few evenings ago to eat a pizza with friends. The pizzas were good. The service, however, left something to be desired. The highlight of the evening was when at the next table the customer asked for a meat dish cooked rare. When they brought it to him it was clearly overcooked. He asked to have it as he had ordered it. 5 minutes later the pizza chef who I understood was also the person in charge showed up in the room and shouted across the room "if he wants her alive we'll give her alive". She then proceeded to mutter in front of us that we were paying. It's a shame to get this bad publicity. There is no arguing or bad-mouthing customers in front of other customers.
