Bar hermitage

Gressan
06/09/2025: Terrible experience. They gave me the room on the floor below, facing the street. There's no privacy; people walking by can see what you're doing.
30/08/2025: It's always a pleasure to have breakfast at this hotel's bar.

American Bar

Courmayeur
16/03/2025: We come across here a few times, sometimes for a casual drink, other times to watch sport. One night we had burgers which we were underwhelmed with given they were 14euro each. Needing the burger to taste fresher and for that price add fries or other. But drinks/service and complimentary small finger food negated the food.
27/02/2025: Busy but friendly and reasonably priced sports bar showing rugby, football and various italian sport. Good free appetisers.

Laris Ristorante Bar

Champorcher
14/02/2026: After breakfast with two coffees and two ginsengs, we planned to stop by for some food. The ski tour to Rif. Dondenaz and Mount Rusciàs was too long. The place was lovely, the prices were excellent, and the girl was friendly and helpful.
01/01/2026: Lack of flexibility and poor attention to vegetarians: A very disappointing experience. I simply asked for a sandwich without the ham, but they said no because they were "too busy." The result? As a vegetarian, the only option available was fries. It seems absurd to me that in 2026, you can't do something as simple as removing a slice of ham from a sandwich to accommodate a customer. The organization doesn't justify this lack of courtesy.

Le Vieux Pommier Hotel

Courmayeur
03/04/2026: Always a pleasure to eat at Le Vieux Pommier. Delicious tagliatelle with porcini mushrooms and, to finish on a high note, an excellent caramel panna cotta. Welcoming and efficient staff.
31/03/2026: Cozy place, great food! I recommend it!

Trattoria Arquibus Perloz

Perloz
28/08/2025: Negative. We stopped at 1:21 PM on a weekday at the end of August... the kitchen was already closed... and that's understandable... we asked for a sandwich for the kids... apparently they'd run out of bread...
21/08/2025: There is very little to choose from and the menus were very similar. The waitress is not very attentive, we had to ask for water three times. The dishes are generous, however.

Rocce Nere

Valtournenche
26/04/2026: Expensive and disappointing. For the same price yesterday I ate at another refuge in the area. It was a different story.
24/04/2026: Very kind staff, lovely place, good food and excellent espresso!

La thuile
06/06/2026: Very friendly team, great for a break
22/03/2026: Passing through during a ski trip to La Rosière, the welcome was incredibly warm. The information and service were very professional; the person even took the time to chat with me. Nice! 👍

Monterosa Restaurant Café

Brusson
30/05/2026: WARNING: NOT RECOMMENDED! IF YOU HAVE CHILDREN, YOU CANNOT UNLOAD YOUR CAR AT THE PITCH if you arrive after 12:00 PM. I was told to use the campsite's wheelbarrow, but unfortunately it was unavailable. I reported the lack of a wheelbarrow and was told to unload everything by hand. A family with small children like mine has to carry everything up by hand, making at least 7-8 trips with bags and backpacks. Blocking the cars of those already at the campsite to protect the children is acceptable, I understand. But at least when someone arrives, they can unload, and then their car will not be brought up to the pitch again for the duration of their holiday. Common sense would suggest allowing those with children under 5, those over 65, and anyone with medically diagnosed mobility issues to unload upon arrival and then load their car on the day of departure. I trust that a compromise will be found, because dialogue and respectful discussion are the basis for managing disagreements. From the photos I've attached to this review, you can see the amount of luggage a family with two children has to carry up. NB: This review does NOT provide any opinions, but merely a description of what happened and the current state of affairs. I'm very sorry, because I've always had a great experience.
21/02/2026: Excellent mountain campsite. The free area may be a bit far from the amenities, especially for those like us with a tent. The terrain is a bit uneven for pitching a tent, especially a large one, but fortunately we went during the low season and were able to choose our pitch, even though we arrived around 7 p.m. Dogs are welcome.

Lo Ratrak

La thuile
26/03/2026: The restaurant simply doesn't match the quality/price ratio - it seems the only cook on duty is the microwave. We didn't like the quality of the reheated dishes... It's a shame about the restaurant with a beautiful view of Mont Blanc...
20/03/2026: Restaurant next to the eggs, a little set back but with a lovely south-facing terrace and a very nice view inside to the north… excellent cuisine, nothing to complain about, and service up to par!

A la Table du Sommelier

Saint-vincent
03/05/2026: A very charming hotel on the pedestrian street. The rooms are well-kept and well-appointed with tasteful antique furniture. Reading the other reviews, I suspect we've stayed in different places: my husband and I were treated very well, both in the hotel and in the restaurant. It was very charming and pleasant to watch the meat being cooked in the fireplace in a warm and welcoming setting. The breakfast was also excellent, with a wide variety of sweet and savory local options (cheeses and cured meats).
17/03/2026: Sylvie, The Sommelier and Hotel Owner was really welcoming to us. Had flown into Malpensa and St Vincent was the perfect stopover. Sadly did not get to dine at the Restaurant, which is tucked in behind the hotel, however Sylvie who was recovering from illness still managed to rustle us up a bottle of local wine and a cheese platter with bread. Room comfortable and town really quiet once the church bell stopped chiming at 10p! In the morning Sylvie prepared a full breakfast and shared some information about the valley and what to visit in future. Look forward to next trip when hopefully Sylvie’s staff will all be feeling better and can dine a la table du Sommelier!

Pizzeria Bella Napoli

Aosta
14/04/2026: The place is old, and it looks like it's never been renovated since it opened. Most of the pizza is burnt and has orange sauce. Prices are above the quality of the ingredients used and the quality of the service. A far cry from what you'd find in Naples.
29/03/2026: The pizza is the best Neapolitan pizza I've had in Aosta; it's almost like eating a pizza in Naples, so if you like Neapolitan pizza, this is the place to go! Unfortunately, the atmosphere leaves much to be desired; it's not welcoming, it's poorly maintained, and the bathroom has a strong, unpleasant urine odor. This has happened to me every time I've been there, so it wasn't a coincidence. It's a shame, because the pizza is really good.

Principe Delle Nevi Restaurant

Valtournenche
07/04/2026: Huge potential, management needs rethinking. I recently stayed at the Hotel Principe delle Nevi and, unfortunately, the experience didn't live up to expectations, nor to the hotel's reputation (and price). The main problem isn't the courtesy; the staff is indeed kind and smiling, but the total lack of preparation. From the moment we arrived, we felt a general sense of disorientation: No one gave us directions to the parking lot, leaving us to manage our arrival completely independently and without support. The room was small but clean. Breakfast was chaotic. The service was disorganized, with long waits and staff who seemed to move without any clear logic. Considering the prices, the quality-price ratio is decidedly unfavorable. The only truly indisputable aspect is the location on the slopes: simply fantastic for skiers. The hotel is beautiful and enjoys an enviable location, but it feels like a ship without a helmsman. It desperately needs expert guidance and adequately trained staff. Currently, superficiality reigns supreme and doesn't justify the financial outlay required. I sincerely hope for a change in management direction.
31/01/2026: This was my third visit to this hotel. The hotel changed hands before the 2025/2026 ski season so disregard any reviews before then as sadly they are no longer relevant. This used to be an amazing hotel but it’s been completely ruined by the new corporate owners. I will give the staff the benefit of the doubt as I can only conclude they have never had any proper training. Nobody is capable of making a decision on anything - even a request as straightforward as booking a table for lunch is deflected with a comment such as “Sorry - the restaurant manager isn’t here!”. The rooms have always been compact but now they are cold. The spa operates on a booking system but even though we asked the receptionist to book it they had no record when we got there. At dinner we were presented with a wine list which was the size of an A4 sheet of paper with about 8 wines on it. When we queried it the waiter said I’ll bring you the list that’s reserved for friends and family and presented us with a regular extensive wine list. It was actually like something out of the British comedy Fawlty Towers but when you are paying premium prices unfortunately the joke is on you. I would echo the comments of previous reviews that when you call for the minibus to pick you up they don’t come and by the time you call back several times you may as well have trudged up the hill. The location of the hotel and the ski in / ski out is excellent but overall I would say it’s deeply disappointing and very sad how such a gem of a hotel can be ruined with the careless stewardship and poor decisions of the new owners. Avoid !
