13/06/2025: Buon rapporto qualità prezzo. Staff simpatico, professionale e cordiale. Tornerò sicuramente per provare la pizza in quanto abbiamo mangiato primo antipasto e dolce

01/06/2025: Ristorante con piatti tipici valdostani. Non abbiamo prenotato, ma ci hanno fatto accomodare in un tavolo adeguato al numero di persone e non striminziti come può capitare da altre parti senza la prenotazione. Da migliorare un po' l'arredo, ma si può provare e riandare.

25/04/2025: Veniamo tutti gli anni in questo ristorante ma questa volta purtroppo non è stata un’esperienza positiva per i seguenti motivi: 1. Nonostante la prenotazione in largo anticipo ci riservano il peggior tavolo della sala sotto il bancone. Chiediamo di spostarci e fortunatamente era disponibile un tavolo migliore al piano inferiore. 2. Il filetto di fassona che ricordavo molto buono, questa volta era molto duro a tal punto da aver lasciato alcuni pezzi. 3. Abbiamo chiesto un aceto balsamico ma ci è stato risposto che era terminato e non l’avevano riassortito perché “era la chiusura della stagione😳” 4. Il menù dei dolci sulla lavagna riportava numerosi dolci non disponibili perché “era la chiusura della stagione”, bastava semplicemente cancellarli dalla lavagna. 5. Il conto mi è sembrato più alto rispetto agli altri anni e riporta 3 ERRORI di prezzo che sono stati fatti presente al cameriere. Personalmente credo che anche trattandosi di fine stagione debbano garantire standard di qualità medio-alti rapportati a un conto per niente basso.

13/04/2025: People rave about this place and I can see why, they have an extensive menu, we were a party of 4 and tried the fondue, the polenta, the pear and walnut pasta and the burger and everything was excellent and presented decorated with beautiful flowers, looked good and tasted good! Plenty of options for vegetarians, portion sizes are big as well so easy to share. Can also be reached on foot without having to ski down, but is quite a climb up hill on the road.

24/10/2025: too many police officers called, they arrived about 3 times this month, rude customers and staff who admit everything without saying anything, a place to go PERHAPS in the morning for breakfast, but even there you would be greeted by poor service

12/09/2025: An experience not to be repeated! Today we went to this bar for an aperitivo and ordered three crodini. They arrived without even an appetizer, absolutely nothing. When I went to pay, I mentioned this to the cashier who served us, expecting to pay a little less than €3.50 each... but instead, they didn't even give us the €0.50 discount on the total, which came to €10.50, and I was paying with cash. The tables and chairs were not very clean; in short, I will never choose this bar again.

27/08/2025: A lovely mountain restaurant, right on the ski slopes in the winter and at the starting point for numerous hikes in the summer. The owners and staff are very courteous and friendly, a rarity these days. The food is truly excellent, definitely one of the best restaurants in the valley. Opening hours are dictated by the Valtournenche cable car that connects it to the village. The view is stunning. Prices are affordable (especially considering the location).

30/07/2025: I booked a deluxe room with a balcony because I'm a smoker. We were given a standard room without a balcony. On Booking.com, the property is listed as "2 km from the city center," but it's actually 5 km away. I absolutely wouldn't recommend staying there, especially if you don't have your own transportation. The restaurant downstairs had a karaoke night until 3:00 AM, and the noise and music in the room were embarrassing. It was as if they were in our room! The property doesn't have private parking, so you have to park in free spaces, which aren't always available. The extra blankets had a strong dusty smell and some cigarette butt burns. If you're taller than 1.65 m, you'll have trouble stretching your legs out as the bed is very short, and your feet will stick out.

11/07/2025: Super cozy and affordable! Friendly and helpful staff, clean and cozy rooms, and a terrace with a view of Aosta from above! We had pizza at the restaurant, and it was delicious! If we ever come back to Aosta, I'd definitely stay here again!

26/10/2025: A very nice refuge, good food, but unfortunately, friendliness and courtesy aren't the managers' strong points. Furthermore, the prices are excessively high compared to other refuges in the area offering comparable service.

26/09/2025: I received a gift of an overnight stay for my wife and I, but for various reasons (including the unavailability of rooms in mid-July), I couldn't go. Only today did I discover (the website didn't mention it) that, unlike other refuges in the Valley, the Chaligne will close tomorrow. I asked if I could use the voucher next year, paying any difference due to the price increase, but I was told that the voucher is only valid for 2025 and therefore no longer usable. This response confirmed the numerous negative reviews about the management's behavior. They will certainly never see me again. TIP: AVOID PURCHASING OR GIVING GIFTS IF YOU ARE UNSURE YOU CAN USE THEM. In response to this review, I received an email from the owner advising me to organize myself better to use the gifts I received. I'll leave it up to the reader to decide on their behavior toward customers, which confirms several other reviews.

31/08/2025: We had two beers in the afternoon...a couple of chips to go with the drink would have been appreciated. Consider this as a future customer service option.

22/08/2025: While staying at the Montana we decided to visit the restaurant, no bad points, everything was very good, the dishes are refined, carefully prepared and made with quality ingredients, in line with the hotel.

29/09/2025: We came one evening this summer, but I wasn't thrilled with the place. The place is average: simple, clean, and tidy. The service is average, as is the food. If you're looking for a good value, it's perfect. Maybe I was unlucky, but the mushrooms were too watery, and I didn't like the snails.

23/09/2025: Extremely kind and attentive staff. At our table, there was a person with a milk protein allergy, and they immediately found a suitable substitute for the polenta and cheese. Clean, friendly, and fast, but above all, smiles and courtesy... But I appreciated the killer 90s playlist playing in the background. 🍎 HIGHLY RECOMMENDED

20/09/2025: Was fairly happy here after a long day hiking but a few things to take note of - the comfort room is nice for a couple but it is a single bed with a single mattress so if you are two older guys this does not really work. Food is good and plentiful but dinner at 8 pm seems a bit later and no WiFi until 8:30 or so is not a great selling point. That said, room was clean, showers are hot and meals were OK so not too much to complain about. Not the best Refugio but very far from the worst.
