A very charming hotel on the pedestrian street. The rooms are well-kept and well-appointed with tasteful antique furniture. Reading the other reviews, I suspect we've stayed in different places: my husband and I were treated very well, both in the hotel and in the restaurant. It was very charming and pleasant to watch the meat being cooked in the fireplace in a warm and welcoming setting. The breakfast was also excellent, with a wide variety of sweet and savory local options (cheeses and cured meats).

Sylvie, The Sommelier and Hotel Owner was really welcoming to us. Had flown into Malpensa and St Vincent was the perfect stopover. Sadly did not get to dine at the Restaurant, which is tucked in behind the hotel, however Sylvie who was recovering from illness still managed to rustle us up a bottle of local wine and a cheese platter with bread. Room comfortable and town really quiet once the church bell stopped chiming at 10p! In the morning Sylvie prepared a full breakfast and shared some information about the valley and what to visit in future. Look forward to next trip when hopefully Sylvie’s staff will all be feeling better and can dine a la table du Sommelier!

What a fantastic little hotel!! The owner is so sweet, friendly, and hospitable. Nothing is too much trouble for her!! Truly SUPER!!

21/09/2025: Exceptional welcome in a breathtaking location! Marcello takes excellent care of his guests; and the food is delicious (and the grappa too :-) )!!
20/09/2025: Was fairly happy here after a long day hiking but a few things to take note of - the comfort room is nice for a couple but it is a single bed with a single mattress so if you are two older guys this does not really work. Food is good and plentiful but dinner at 8 pm seems a bit later and no WiFi until 8:30 or so is not a great selling point. That said, room was clean, showers are hot and meals were OK so not too much to complain about. Not the best Refugio but very far from the worst.
