12/08/2025: The rooms are functionally furnished but clean. Margarethe's room is a bit worn, and at night (just before midnight) someone was apparently still working (kitchen?) and making a lot of noise. You can rent bikes from the city of Merano at the nearby train station (5 hours free via an app). The restaurant is very tasty pizza!

07/08/2025: We can't comment on the rooms, as we only visited the restaurant. Unfortunately, we weren't satisfied with the service. We had reserved a table for a birthday party. When we arrived, the staff seemed a bit listless and hadn't prepared a table for us. Due to the language barrier between the waiter and us, ordering proved very difficult. Too many drinks arrived, and some dishes or ingredients were forgotten. The ambiance and staff used to be better. Too bad, we won't be coming back.

13/07/2025: An explosion of flavor... a perfect balance in every dish... from savory to sweet... a fantastic culinary experience. I highly recommend it if you're looking for more than just lunch or dinner, but a treat for yourself 🙏

09/07/2025: Honestly, I expected more. There was so much salt on the grilled steak, the fries were dry, hard, and very salty. The liters of water I've been drinking since before, what a shame.

20/08/2025: On a grey day, I was strolling through the centre of Bolzano and stopped at this place for a quick lunch. Luckily, I found a free table. I ordered quickly, but the waiters were a bit stressful; there was no time to waste either ordering or letting you go. The menu is tourist-friendly, but what I ate was quite good. Prices are reasonable if you choose carefully, otherwise they're very expensive.

20/08/2025: NO NO WE'RE NOT IN THERE!! We had relatives over for dinner and wanted them to try the local cuisine... but choosing this place was a mistake. Unfriendly staff, cold welcome. We sat down, ordered, and within 3 minutes (maybe even less!) both the drinks and the dishes arrived: it was clear they had already been ready. And indeed they were. Polenta of very low quality, not even remotely comparable to properly prepared. Sausages lacked flavor, almost stringy. Cutlet with breading that fell off completely... a sign of hasty and poorly prepared food. In conclusion: decidedly expensive for what we were served. P.S.: A sleepless night trying to digest something. YOU HAVE THE NAME, BUT QUALITY IS A WHOLE OTHER STORY.

10/08/2025: We had a casual dinner with pizza and beer. Bufalina and Capricciosa BBQ. Excellent quality ingredients and careful and precise cooking in an open wood-fired oven. The attentive and courteous staff, led by the enthusiastic Dalila, were attentive. The atmosphere was a bit too casual, but decidedly tidy, clean, and quiet. Recommended.

01/08/2025: We stopped at this restaurant on our way back from a hike, and even though we were a little late, they still served us. The staff is very friendly, as everyone in San Vigilio is, and the food is plentiful and very good. The prices aren't cheap, but that's also a fairly common thing (a first course, beer, and coffee cost €30). Regardless, we definitely recommend it.

10/04/2025: Es war alles einfach fantastisch! Das Essen, die Atmosphäre, das Personal sind wirklich wunderbar. Seit Jahren besuchen wir die Haselburg anlässlich des Geburtstages meines Mannes und reservieren rechtzeitig einen Tisch, der immer wunderschön gedeckt ist und direkt am Fenster mit Blick auf Bozen platziert ist. Das Essen ist liebevoll angerichtet und die Weinempfehlungen sind professionell.

08/01/2025: come già espresso al managemnt della proprità vorrei esprimere il mio totale disappunto per il cenone di capodanno di cui ho avuto la sfortuna di partecipare. Ad iniziare dall 'aperitivo di benvenuto con prodotti/ingredienti di scarsa qualità serviti in maniera approssimativa e con pochissima quantità (la crema di castagne era immangiabile ndr). Il tavolo assegnato consegnandoci un pezzo di carta su cui era scritto il numero del tavolo; il guardaroba ra sprovvisto di numeri e quindi cappotti lasciati appesi senza logica. Dopo il òprimo antipasto abbiamo scoperto che il brindisi di mezzanotte non era compreso nel prezzo del cenone ma avremmo dovuto acquistare una bollicina onde festeggiare il nuovo anno: richiesta assurda e di bassissimo profilo professionale. Abbiamo sollevato la questione al Maitre il quale con fare borioso e supponente ci ha detto che ciò è normale prassi nei ristoranti e lui che ha viaggiato in tutto il mondo non hai mai visto offrire tale servizio. Poi alla fine ci dice : beh posso offrirvi due bicchieri di prosecco se proprio volete!! Quindi oltre alla beffa siamo stati anche offesi:una totale mancanza di stile, professionalità e di approccio al cliente. Alle 1030 pm siamo andati via dopo avere appena assaggiato i due antipasti (la minestra di cavolfiore era degna di una mensa RSA) ed il risotto, salatissimo con delle scaglie di un tartufo estivo legnoso ed insapore. Il maitre sorpreso e seccato , al momento del conto, ci ha offerto il vino , che avevamo ordinato, come gesto riparatorio Concludo dicendo che uno Chef che vanta un CV importante, non ultimo all'Hotel Bulgari di Milano non dovrebbe tollerare tali situazioni e Se responsabile del menù dovrebbe riflettere riguardo le sue capacità in eventi del genere. Unica nota positiva è stata la cameriera che si occupava delle bevande che dispiaciutissima è venuta a chiederci perchè stavamo andanado via e contrita ci ha espresso il suo dispiacere. Non oserò più avvicinarmi a questo locale durante la mia permanenza lavorativa a Bolzano ne lo consiglierò ad amici o conoscenti o colleghi

02/03/2025: Excellent location, small but welcoming structure. Few things done quite well, there are certainly mountain huts with better quality food. However friendly managers. The climb is constant but doable in 1 hour and a half. However, it is absurd to have to make the descent with skiers and especially sleds who go down regardless of the ban at the beginning of the climb. With all the slopes there are, it is absurd and serious that no one does anything, disrupting those who want to enjoy the walk. The bravado with which the sledders ask for the track is embarrassing, an attitude that Italians, South Tyroleans and foreigners have.

27/06/2025: First things first: The food (pizza & salad) was delicious. The price/performance ratio was right! The service was friendly, but overwhelmed (understaffed)? It all took a veeeery long time... until a menu arrived at the table, until the drinks arrived, until the food arrived, and even longer until we could pay. A second drink wasn't possible, so we skipped dessert. What a shame 😕

17/05/2025: My visit to Wainks Restaurant was unfortunately very disappointing. I felt like a second-class guest. While other tables received high-quality, ornate glasses, we were served plain plastic cups. I was particularly disappointed that, unlike other guests, we were asked to pay immediately, which gave the impression that they wanted to get rid of us quickly. This unequal treatment made my stay very unpleasant. Based on this experience, I unfortunately cannot recommend Wainks Restaurant.

06/08/2025: It was clearly showing its age. The neighbor had a hair in her food. Our food was just okay. We didn't go back again.

04/08/2025: A fantastic restaurant where you can eat very well for a very reasonable price. And the portions are huge too! We arrived there for lunch at 1 p.m. The spaghetti carbonara was enormous at 200 grams (but smaller portions are also available). The schnitzel and fries were also delicious, and there are also daily specials for only €8.50, such as a pepper steak with rice or a hamburger with fries. Friendly service and a very large covered outdoor terrace with a view of Kaltern. It's also a three-minute walk from the Mendelbahn cable car. The six of us had a delicious meal and drinks there for less than €100. I highly recommend it. The apple juice is also delicious, by the way 😉 And you can park your car right next to the restaurant.

25/08/2025: Good ice cream. It's just that there's always one guy serving, not two, and sometimes it's a bit too much for him. This ice cream shop usually had two people at the counter.
