03/12/2025: I'm just leaving this little trattoria where I promised the owner I'd write a review... I don't write many, but this one was due. Being in the area for work, I stopped here at La Casina. It's a friendly, welcoming place, with limited seating but a reasonable menu. They offer both a la carte options and a €15 fixed menu (starter, main course, and side dish). I think they're very busy at lunchtime with nearby businesses, as all the tables were taken. Despite this, I decided to order the dish of the day, which consisted of pappardelle with wild boar. The pasta was delicious, plentiful, and the wild boar sauce was seasoned to perfection. Once I'd finished my plate, as I certainly couldn't stomach any other main course, I ordered two homemade Ricciarelli. Three arrived, and since I couldn't eat one because I was so full, the friendly waitress practically forced me to take it home in a bag... When it came time to get the bill and drink my coffee, I chatted with the owner and realized that this truly is a healthy and authentic place unlike any other. Highly recommended for anyone in the area.

22/12/2024: Uno de los grandes restaurantes de la provincia (Siena). Original y deliciosa comida toscana, muy local y de temporada. Voy allí con frecuencia aunque vivo a una hora de distancia. Estilo Slow Foods.

23/11/2025: We entered this newly opened restaurant. As soon as we climbed the stairs, we were greeted by a stuffy, food-filled smell. It didn't inspire me, but we didn't have much choice because we had little time to eat. We sat down, and the small room was cold, and the split-level oven took a while to heat up. We ordered a platter and two crostoni, which were good, no complaints. The only surprise that kept me from giving it more than two stars was the bathroom. We were the first customers, and the bathroom was dirty. The toilet was stained with feces, and there was no way to dry our hands because the hand dryer didn't work and there was no paper. The quality of a public establishment is determined first and foremost by the restrooms, which must be clean and functional for customers.

Menù vario con piatti della tradizione e non,ma tutti realizzati con grande grinta, prodotti ottimi, porzioni abbondanti,prezzi modesti in rapporto alla a qualità !Locale semplice , pulito, personale cordiale e efficiente.Riconosciuto dall’accademia della cucina italiana!

02/11/2025: This is our go-to spot for a great salad and lunch in general. The lettuce and produce are always very fresh, the service first rate, and the passing parade of people makes it a fun spot. If you’re a bit hungrier, try the Tagliata, one of the best I’ve had in town.

27/10/2025: We happened to be at this restaurant around 4 p.m. for a late lunch. We ordered risotto and lasagna for starters, and a 1.2 kg T-bone steak for two for the main course. We chose a Brunello to go with it. It was all excellent. The waitress spontaneously offered us a small tasting from their own winery, and we decided to pick up six bottles across the street. We found it outrageous that they charged us the restaurant price of €93 per bottle! We will return to Montalcino, but certainly never to this restaurant again.

03/10/2025: It's open for lunch, which is a win. The food was good, but not the best I've had in Italy. The service was good, but they didn't tell me what was on offer that day. The daily menu looked better than the menu. And they forgot to bring me the dessert menu. The best service in Italian restaurants was from foreigners in search of a better life.

21/10/2025: Food and service were outstanding. Not to mention the stunning view. My husband and I went there for a coffee at first and the staff was so lovely we decided to go back for brunch. After that we went back for dinner. We just couldn't get enough of this place. We had a 3 weeks vacation driving around Italy and our experience at Terraza was definitely one of the highlights of the trip. The dinner we had was comparable to a Michelin star restaurant. Andrea and Nico were lovely and offered impeccable service. Looking forward to my next Lake Como trip.

17/08/2025: Huge disappointment. Cold welcome, unpleasant waitress. We asked to have coffee on the terrace, but the waitress demanded that we pay the bill first. It was very awkward because it implied we were going to leave without paying, even though we'd been waiting in line to pay for quite a while. A place to avoid if you want to have a good evening.

03/12/2025: Comfortable atmosphere, the girl serving the tables was very kind, but in my opinion the food could have been better considering that they also charged me more than on the menu. I don't recommend buying water that isn't bottled, it tastes of soap and limescale, all in all considering the hypothetical prices it's affordable.

14/07/2025: 2** er ikke meget, men det som ramte vores borde var, desværre ikke længere end til 2**. Den bedste servering var den ene forret, helt simpelt bruschetta, var gode, og så alligevel også lidt ærgerligt at der var hældt tørret oregano ud over. Pasta retterne var, en spøjs sammensætning. Under krydret, og i den ene ret et ubestemmeligt krydderi som gjorde at retten ikke hang sammen. På gulvet var det en lidt træt aften, vinen kom efter forretterne, der blev foreslået dessert inden hovedretterne (pasta) var serveret etc. Lokalets indretning er jo ejerens valg, men uha der var mange køleskabe i rummet, om det styrke det etiske det tror jeg man skal være køleskabe sælger for at syntes.

20/09/2025: It's absolutely incomprehensible that such a lack of friendliness and service can prevail in such a beautiful setting! The building (an old monastery) and garden, including the pool area, are absolutely well-kept and beautiful! The staff and management, bored and not particularly friendly, go about their business. Guests don't seem welcome, but rather a nuisance. Despite the beautiful setting, I unfortunately wouldn't recommend it!

20/08/2025: Super luxurious, well maintained, spacious, a lot of greenery and big yard, beautiful pool, very warm and welcoming staff, amazing experience in Tuscany region.

05/10/2025: Borgo Sant’Ambrogio is simply beautiful. Staff are friendly and helpful and go out of their way to create the sense of comfort and ease which oozes from the beautiful spaces throughout the property. This is a very special place.

23/05/2025: The property itself is truly beautiful, with excellent views and a very peaceful, relaxing atmosphere. Our room was spacious and comfortable, Restaurant was good. the restaurant staff were also polite and courteous. However, we were disappointed by the service from some of the other staff, particularly at reception. Given that this is a five-star hotel, we expected a higher standard of hospitality. We were traveling with large suitcases and needed assistance getting to and from our room, especially since the property includes several steps. Not only was help not proactively offered, but when we did request assistance, the staff’s response was noticeably cold and unwelcoming. Even when we expressed our thanks for the minimal help we eventually received, the attitude remained dismissive. The staff was especially rude at checkout time, the person at reception during check-in was not rude. For a hotel of this caliber, guest service should be a top priority, and unfortunately, the lack of warmth and professionalism from some of the staff left a negative impression. Also, the bathroom trash was already full when we arrived at the room. The location and beauty surrounding the property more than makes up for the lack of service, however don’t come here expecting a 5-star service.

26/08/2025: A property nestled in a truly fascinating area, among olive groves and vineyards. Perhaps it deserves a little more attention, but we had a pleasant weekend. The food was also delicious. The prima donnas, the cat princess, and her fox friend. The service, especially in the evening, was attentive and attentive.

14/11/2025: A good find on a chilly October night when most restaurants were closed. Owners were a lovely couple. Enoteca with a nice menu selection. We sat at the long communal table inside. We were presented with several wine by the glass options based on our individual interests and preferences. Nice anchovy starter and each of us had different pici pasta dishes and switched plates half way through. Great interaction with the owners throughout the night. Also good conversations with another couple at the table that are wedding planners that just finished an event. Dessert with grappa and amaro finished a pleasant and relaxing evening!

04/10/2025: Wholeheartedly recommended! Since we still had to pick up our rental car, we skipped the wine, but we did sample the local beer. We enjoyed the dishes we ordered with all our senses: the wild boar ragout, pisci with ragu, the potato-filled ravioli with pepper. We'd love to come back!
