13/06/2025: Einfacht typisch Italienische Küche. Sehr ruhig gelegen im der Toskana. Einfache gute Küche. Mit Bilder schön beschrieben wie die Gerichte aussehen. Nonna macht die Pasta selber.

18/05/2025: In posizione defilata, lungo la strada che da Castel porta a San Gimignano, la Locanda del Borgo è un ambiente tranquillo dove si mangia toscano e bene. Ottimi i pici al ragú bianco di cinta senese così come le caramelle ripiene con la pera e il formaggio versato a cascata. Gustosissimo il tagliere con affettati toscani (coppa, finocchiona e salame) accompagnato da crostoni e salsine, il tagliere di formaggi e…senz’altro la famosa fiorentina che qui è certo di casa. Prezzi non economici, ma ormai nello standard. Cena consigliata a chi si trova da queste parti.

22/06/2025: Un caffè dopo pranzo con annesso dolcetto. Molto buono il ricciarello un po' meno i cantuccinibal cioccolato. Locale carino, personale gentilissimo. Prezzi da S. Gimignano ...

04/09/2025: The simple, family-friendly atmosphere of this village trattoria. The excellent, carefully prepared food and the kindness of the owner and her daughter complete the picture. Add to this the peace and serenity of the location, far from traffic and noise.

27/08/2025: We stopped for lunch and always look for places like this, truly authentic without too many frills! We had a plate of wild boar pici: phenomenal! The best we've had in Val d'Orcia! Then we had a mixed platter of cured meats, cheeses, and crostini: very good, and I think they make them themselves. Finally, we had crostoni stuffed with pecorino, pears, and walnuts: delicious! And of course, we couldn't miss coffee with dessert: their cherry jam tart. Everything was truly delicious! If you like old-fashioned places with authentic, local food, go here—you won't regret it!

19/08/2025: I ordered pizzas for delivery, asking for one with tuna and olives and lactose-free. It arrived without tuna, so we decided to call the pizzeria, but all we got was a denial. They were convinced that the phone hadn't said "tuna" but only olives, even though she kept repeating "tuna and olives?" The mozzarella was incredibly bitter, probably because it was of poor quality. I felt sick after eating it yesterday, and I still feel sick today, so I imagine that mozzarella, even if it had been lactose-free, was contaminated. It's not the first time they've delivered the wrong pizzas, so the other time the sausages were missing.

20/08/2025: It was probably a bad night in the kitchen, but waiting an hour to eat two inedible hamburgers with meat that had the consistency of cardboard, pici with charred meat and salty and burnt potatoes also no thanks.... if you want to eat decently go somewhere else

14/07/2025: 2** er ikke meget, men det som ramte vores borde var, desværre ikke længere end til 2**. Den bedste servering var den ene forret, helt simpelt bruschetta, var gode, og så alligevel også lidt ærgerligt at der var hældt tørret oregano ud over. Pasta retterne var, en spøjs sammensætning. Under krydret, og i den ene ret et ubestemmeligt krydderi som gjorde at retten ikke hang sammen. På gulvet var det en lidt træt aften, vinen kom efter forretterne, der blev foreslået dessert inden hovedretterne (pasta) var serveret etc. Lokalets indretning er jo ejerens valg, men uha der var mange køleskabe i rummet, om det styrke det etiske det tror jeg man skal være køleskabe sælger for at syntes.

13/07/2025: The place is cozy and quaint, but the food and prices leave much to be desired. The menu is limited if you don't want toasts, which are expensive (€15 on average) for what they offer, although there's a lot of variety. The ravioli and lasagna are good, but very average; we weren't impressed with the quality at all. They charged us €10 for five slices of bread with olive oil, and the drinks are very expensive. The service is good.

23/06/2025: !!Tourist Trap Alert!! We paid €9 each for bruschetta and received a single slice of bread with a drizzle of olive oil and one lonely piece of garlic in the center—definitely not worth the price. While paying inside, I saw the chef preparing more bruschetta and casually sniffing the sausage before using it. After that, we were actually relieved we’d only ordered the plain version. Strongly recommend avoiding this place.

29/07/2025: It's good, the service is very good. On the other hand, €7.50 for a Coke and €6.50 for iced tea is taking tourists for fools. And you can imagine that they offered us drinks very quickly, before we even looked at the prices. €98 for 4: 2 pizzas, a salad, and lasagna, that's really a tourist trap.

20/08/2025: We passed by here on our way to Castellina and stopped for lunch. The terrace has a pleasant atmosphere, and the service was very attentive and friendly. The menu is manageable, and the wine list is very good. The prices are reasonable. The food was very good, and we had a wonderful time!

23/08/2025: Excellent review, no complaints, excellent food in the evening, single room with double bed (the mattress was a bit stiff for my standards) with ensuite bathroom, two good managers who make everything happen. The only downside is the rather steep descent leading to the inn, which is on an unpaved road where some cars might have trouble, and even worse if it rains. In this context, I recommend it.
