19/02/2026: We went on a Sunday, and despite it being fully booked, the service was courteous and fast. The food was good, and they even catered to me, as I'm celiac. Excellent value. We'll be back.

15/01/2026: A great find. The place is small and well-maintained, with welcoming staff. The menu offers several reasonably priced options. I tried the €39 set menu with appetizers (the prosciutto was delicious) and steak. The fact that I left with a full stomach is a clear sign that I had a great time and would return.

15/02/2026: I spent Valentine's Day here. Everything started out fine. They seated us in the room with music, and after about ten minutes the appetizers arrived (we had the set menu): the dish was good, but the portions were really small. From then on, the evening almost turned into a nightmare. We waited an hour and a quarter for the first course. We could practically see the first courses being served all around us, but nothing for us. Once they arrived, we ate, and the same thing happened: the dish was good, but the portions were small (at least mine, since I had the fish menu). For the second course, needless to say, we waited another 40 minutes. While we waited, there had been some music playing (not themed, but disco house, which is something you don't expect on a Valentine's Day evening), but two gentlemen arrived and started singing and playing themselves with a microphone and guitar. Except the music was so loud, my head started pounding so hard I wanted to leave without finishing my meal. In fact, when the main course arrived, we ate (the food wasn't even good here) and my boyfriend tried to make the gesture to turn down the music, but he didn't pay attention to anyone. So, seeing me feeling really bad, he got up to find someone and ask for dessert to go. A very kind lady moved us to the next room (without the music, meaning we could hear it, but a little less) and we waited another 35 minutes for dessert. It was anything but a chocolate panna cotta. It was more like something whipped up on the spot and thrown on the plate. Of course, when it came time to pay, they didn't even make us wait a minute. It's a shame the menu wasn't worth the price at all. The waiters, all very kind, were constantly apologizing for the delays, both to us and to other people. It was supposed to be a Valentine's Day surprise from my boyfriend, but it was torture from start to finish. He himself apologized to me constantly because he didn't believe the evening would go that way, given that he'd been there before and had a great time. I'm sorry, but I'll never set foot in this place again. I left with a terrible headache, as well as being hungry.

03/03/2026: ⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️ Osteria al Casale was the absolute highlight of our time in Matera. Every single dish was outstanding — full of flavor, beautifully presented, and perfectly executed. Fabio made the experience even more special. His wine recommendation was spot on, and in 7 years with my partner, I’ve never seen her completely satisfied with a waiter’s first suggestion… until now. That says it all. Exceptional food, flawless service, unforgettable evening. Highly recommended. 🍷✨

10/03/2026: Absolute recommendation. They immediately had a free table for 2 people and upon ordering, they informed us that there would be a 30-40 minute wait for the pizza and whether that would suit us. Our table was next to the stove, and all those 40 minutes the pizzas were constantly coming out. The pizzas were really delicious and crispy. Just pay attention to the working hours.

01/03/2026: Even though we're not used to dining after 8:00 PM, due to friends' needs, we booked for 9:00 PM. I was very skeptical because the restaurant was packed and all the staff were rushing around. I expected a very long dinner and tired staff... but I was pleasantly surprised. We were given our table at 9:00 PM sharp, not a single second of waiting. The service was fast and the staff were very courteous and always smiling, even though there were only two tables left in the dining room. The food was excellent. The mixed Tuscan antipasto was simply delicious, and the pizza was SPECTACULAR. I highly recommend it and can't wait to go back!!!!

10/12/2025: Excellent coffee bar with a large newsstand attached: the newsstand and bookstore area is truly charming and unusual. The coffee and cappuccino are excellent. Outdoor space with dedicated seating.

17/09/2025: High-quality, natural ice cream, made with top-notch raw materials, not overly flavorful, but crafted to perfection. Well-preserved with a benchmark ice cream consistency. One of the 10 best ice creams I've tasted in 2025. Hats off, highly recommended.

01/03/2026: I recently stayed at the estate for the April 25th long weekend, with my wife and two children, ages 3 and 8. It was a wonderful holiday that we will cherish forever. It would certainly be wonderful to return in the summer, to enjoy the property even more, using the pool and soaking up the cool woods surrounding it. What can I say? If you enjoy being in touch with nature, the peace and quiet of being in the middle of a forest far from the hustle and bustle... then this is the place for you! If you enjoy healthy, authentic food... then this is the place for you! Who isn't it for? For those who don't enjoy being in contact with animals, their company, and their company, and for those who don't have a car suitable for off-roading! Because getting to Codirosso isn't something for sports cars! ;-)
