20/05/2025: We visited several restaurants in Greve. Unfortunately, we only visited Trattoria D'i Borgo at the end of our visit. All the dishes, including the desserts, were an absolute delight. Highly recommended. The quality brought tears to our eyes, and the staff were friendly and very charming. Thank you again.

29/06/2025: Ordered take-away pizzas, they were very kind to have them ready at the requested time, fresh from the oven. Excellent flavor, even the gluten-free one, they made the Meyer day hospital jealous for the aroma released. Honest price (39€) for 3 porcini and truffle pizzas, they also offered us 3 drinks. It had been a few years since I had a meal at their place, also because of my wife's gluten intolerance, but now that I know that even that is not a problem... we will definitely be back.

15/05/2025: ZEROCALCARE signing sessions. He and the publisher Bao are very nice and punctual. Only one star instead for the organization of the event by the bookstore. Divided into 3 steps: drawing 15.00-18.00, 18.00-19.00 talk, 19.30-24.00 signing session. I leave home at 6.50, train and off I go, I arrive at 7.40 and I am 63rd in line (a gentleman contacted us 3 times), opening at 9 and delivery of the passes (bracelets) with a number written on them. They say that for the 1st step there are only 75 passes, I'll go back!! but when it's my turn they're already sold out 🤔 (I'm 15 and I'm ashamed to do myself justice), I'm the 6th excluded so I have to settle for the signing session. I feel bad😩, I get angry😡, I repress it thinking that the important thing will be to meet him. I enter school in 3rd period, I go out, I eat a sandwich on the fly and at 2pm I get back in line outside the library for the 6pm talk. At 4pm everyone stands, otherwise "we'll take up too much space" says one of the security guards. Finally I go in and enjoy the chat. They say NOW EVERYONE OUT AND WHO HAS A PASS FOR THE FIRMADILLO GET IN LINE FOR THE TIME GROUPS WRITTEN ON THE BRACELET. I go out, convinced that I will return almost immediately since I am number 6 in the first group, and here is another injustice, the line (60 people per hour) has already formed while the talk was taking place, I am second to last... My mother has joined me, worried about the time of returning to the train, she argues with the 2 security "gorillas" who do not enforce the order of the numbers assigned in the morning, the response of one of them is I DON'T CARE AT ALL ABOUT THE NUMBER. I am back inside to meet him, finally, even if I am the last one in the third time I have been in line since this morning. I look at the time and if everything goes well we will be able to take the 9.14 train and return home by 10pm... the director of the bookstore arrives and takes me by the hand and makes me climb among the first, perhaps she has understood that something has gone wrong? I thank her, but this is just not right, 3 times in line despite the numbered bracelet. What should be security, of indecent rudeness. I arrive home at 9 pm, very tired but still happy. Because to get justice you have to raise your voice, why?

25/06/2025: The rooms are beautifully furnished; if you really want to unwind, this is the place for you. You're on an estate, off the beaten track but perfectly located with a pool, relaxation areas, and service. The price is a bit higher, but almost everything seems to be homemade.

30/06/2025: The sign recalls the times when the tram in Florence already existed, at least until 1956, with all its romantic aura, certainly very different from the wires for the air of today (once the rods that gave electricity were called trolleys). On the walls of the small and charming place some photos recall those years in a choreography in which the long ... presentation of (empty) wine flasks somehow underlines the Tuscan tradition linked to vineyards, vats and scents of festive and singing harvests. Few tables, essential spaces, pleasant house wine (1/2 liter in a carafe branded 'tranvai"). The boiled meat remade is also good (very) and of a generous portion (in a hot pan), like the linguine all'arrabbiata... just the right amount of anger. A slice of apple pie (which we prefer without cinnamon), two bottles of water, bread, a strong coffee made with the Moka. Place setting, with a paper tablecloth but a large cloth napkin (2 E), final bill 62 Euro (for 2 people), price more or less aligned with the 'typical' medium-high range. Kind and attentive service from the waitress (who we know, but still worthy of mention). A/C, and a small outdoor seating area on the street towards the garden part of Piazza Tasso, a 15 minute walk from Ponte Vecchio in the Oltrarno (area adjacent to the Basilica del Carmine, with the magnificent frescoes by Masaccio). Frequented mainly by Florentines regulars, but also tourists, not just passing through. Nice place. In the evening, with the 38 degrees that we are finding ourselves in these days of late June, maybe even more.

27/06/2025: This centrally located restaurant in Florence serves first-class Tuscan specialties with compelling flavors. In summer, a small outdoor area offers a pleasant place to relax. The team was always friendly and prompt with service.

03/07/2025: Quiet, convenient spot near the station — it was perfect while waiting for our car pickup. They kindly let us put our luggage in the front, which was nice. The bruschetta was okay, but the carbonara was creamy (slightly salty in my opinion), and the tortellini al ragù was tasty. Good meal, if you looking for something easy and quick!

02/07/2025: (English) I found the food at this restaurant quite disappointing and believe it’s significantly overrated. I was drawn in La Grotta Di Leo by glowing reviews, which led me to dine here, and being in Italy, I was hoping for authentic, traditional recipes. On my first visit, I ordered the carbonara and a T-bone steak. The carbonara was underwhelming and passable at best—lacking the firmness and texture I’ve enjoyed in other establishments. I'd give it a 5 out of 10. As for the T-bone, aside from an excess of myoglobin on the plate, it lacked the robust, savory flavor I associate with a well-prepared steak, suggesting the seasoning or preparation missed the mark. I returned the next day, mainly because the location was convenient to my accommodation. The waitstaff greeted me warmly, which I appreciated. That time I ordered the spaghetti all’Amatriciana, a dish that traditionally includes just tomato sauce, guanciale, Pecorino Romano, black pepper, extra virgin olive oil, dry white wine, and salt. The menu simply listed “tomato, bacon” as the ingredients, so I assumed it would be close to the classic version. However, when the dish arrived, it included noticeable amounts of garlic and large chunks of onion pieces—ingredients not listed on the menu and not typically part of the traditional recipe. The bacon was also too soft for my liking. When I asked a waiter whether the dish was prepared correctly, he took my plate over to his superior without saying anything and returned without an explanation. The interaction left a strange impression. When I asked another staff member who had taken my order, she replied dismissively that “every restaurant has its own recipes.” I wasn’t demanding a culinary lecture—I simply felt that if non-traditional ingredients like garlic and onion are included, they should be clearly listed on the menu. Overall, my experience didn’t live up to the culinary standards I had hoped for in Italy, especially Florence. The restaurant has potential, but the execution and adherence to authentic recipes left much to be desired. This became a memorable part of my trip, but for all the wrong reasons.
