22/08/2025: We stopped by chance. The owner, Mr. "i'benzina," is a down-to-earth guy who always puts a smile on your face and offers home-cooked food at a fair price. We'll be back.

17/08/2025: Family owned sandwich shopped that we chose based on vicinity near outlet shops and reviews. The experience more than exceeded expectations. To start; welcomed very warmly and as we were with 10 persons, quickly arranged seating for us. Very friendly owners. The owner showed us their offerings for the day. From fresh pasta, to their potato dumplings and porchetta. We went with a mix of dishes. But the ones truly exceptional were the flatbread sandwiches with porchetta and with lampredotto (organ meat). These were on par or possibly better than the world famous antico vinaio sandwiches in the city. Also the lampredotto with tagliatelle was special! Rest was decent. But just for these 3 I would truly recommend a visit and find out yourself. Only drawback, if you can call it that, is that they are not cheap, options vary from 10-20 euro. But certainly worth it!

10/07/2025: The food here was delicious. Ate a steak, baked vegetables and pesto gnocchi and all were amazing. The staff were friendly and polite, and I loved that I didn’t get pressured to tip like I have previously at other restaurants. Love that dogs are allowed there too. Overall great experience.

30/08/2025: 5 stars, food was great (take lampredotto, it's so good) and service too. Great location if you want to go and watch the sunset from Piazzale Michelangelo, which is well worth seeing.

30/08/2025: Quiet place to eat and kid friendly. They accommodated a group of 9 with 5 kids around 4 years old. Drinks limited to wine and beer. But the food was damn good. Cute romantic place with local cuisine. Make reservations or you may be out of luck.

10/06/2025: Our BEST meal in Florence. Every dish was spectacular. Service was friendly and genuine. Especially wonderful was the cocktail tasting. The mixologist is a genius. He made beautiful and super tasty cocktails. Possibly the BEST cocktails we’ve ever tasted! Thank you, Gunè!

The pizza cook / owner was friendly and obliging. Good selection of bottled beer. Lovely bottled juices. Great selection for vegetarians! Completely satisfied.

08/09/2025: We have eaten wonderfully here! The dishes were absolutely delicious and the service was amazing. We went for lunch but ate antipasti, primi and secondi, so it was a a bit more expensive but so so worth it. I think for the quality of food the prices are really really fair. Love this place and would highly recommend it!

05/09/2025: We found this place by chance during a visit to Certaldo in February. It was truly a fortunate discovery. The atmosphere is typical, a bit retro, and very pleasant. The owner is very kind and approachable, and willing to explain all the dishes we ordered. Everything was truly excellent, with an honorable mention for the onion soup. The price was absolutely reasonable for the quality of what we ate. If I'm ever in the area again, I'll definitely stop for another meal.

What began as a simple dinner for two in 2023 turned into a two-year journey that culminated in our wedding rehearsal dinner for 23 guests in August 2025, and it exceeded every dream we had. From the first bite to the last sip, Gabriele delivered not just a meal but an immersive, heartfelt celebration that blended world-class food, perfectly paired wines, and the kind of warmth and hospitality that makes you feel like family. Simply put, B.O.r.G.O. gave us the best dining experience of our lives. Our story with B.O.r.G.O. began back in March 2023, when the two of us first visited for a quiet dinner for two. That night we discovered what is, hands down, the best pasta dish any of us have ever had: the linguine with burnt onion sauce and chive oil. Whatever Gabriele puts into this dish is pure magic. It will knock your taste buds into euphoric bliss and was a huge part of the reason we knew this was the place where we wanted to host our wedding rehearsal dinner. The food was beyond incredible (the best meal we had in Florence, without question), but it was the warmth, care, and personalization that made it unforgettable. On a whim, we proposed the lofty idea of renting out the entire restaurant to host our wedding rehearsal dinner two years later in August 2025. To our delight, Gabriele was immediately up for the challenge, even though it would only be the second time he had ever hosted a group this large. Fast forward two years to August 2025: Gabriele took on the challenge of closing his doors to the public and curating a fully customized dining experience for our group of 23 guests (the restaurant seats about 27, so we nearly filled the place). He worked with us for two years, thoughtfully building a menu that balanced creativity, seasonality, and dietary needs (including vegetarian and allergy-friendly options) while pairing every course with the perfect wines. The menu he created was stunning: • Starters: included half portions of the linguine with burnt onion sauce and chive oil, cappellacci stuffed with burrata and guinea fowl ragout, and crispy gnocchi with lightly smoked tomato “soup” and cherry mozzarella for vegetarians • Mains: (served family-style) sirloin roast beef with potato purée, rabbit roulade stuffed with escarole, plum, pine nuts, and crispy guanciale with chanterelles, plus vegetarian mains like chickpea flour pancake with burrata and vegetarian ossobuco • Desserts: baba rhum and Basque cheesecake, perfectly paired with Malvasia and Occhio di Pernice (a rare Vinsanto made with 100% Sangiovese grapes) • Wines: incredible Bolgheri and Carmignano selections that paired flawlessly with the meal But the food, as spectacular as it was, was only part of what made the night unforgettable. Gabriele welcomed us at the door like family and gave an overview of the curated multi-course journey ahead. His passion for food and hospitality made the evening feel deeply personal, intimate, and immersive. 31/08/2025: The place is very welcoming, the staff are friendly and knowledgeable, and above all, the food is excellent. And if you're looking for a good Florentine steak, you'll find it here with a capital F. Highly recommended.

17/08/2025: Amazing experience with the owner! She and her daughter were very friendly and charming with us. The food is insanely good and you get that homemade feeling when you bite into it. Like you've been invited to a friend's house for dinner. Each pasta dish was very delicious and I particularly enjoyed the chick peas with truffle. We later found out the owner recently visited Malaysia and she was showing us her photos of the twin tower and Melaka! Glad she enjoyed her time there. Looking forward to hopefully return here one day to eat their delicious food again.
