If you come here thinking you’ll get traditional Tuscan food, you’ll be disappointed. But if you stay open minded you’ll have one of the best restaurant experiences ever. From start to finish, each meal was prepared carefully and thoughtfully—all of which were bold in flavor. I’ve truly never had restaurant dining like this—it was more than a meal, it was an experience. However, the highlight was the service. Daniele (I believe was his name?) took care of us and he was amazing! Can’t wait to come back.

It had been over 7 years since my last visit to Cuculia, WELL overdue. I had planned to fly from Naples to Nice to meet some friends, but with a small scheduling glitch, I found myself with an extra day on my hands. So instead of flying, I rented a car and drove, just so that I could stop in Firenze to dine at Cuculia; it was worth the 9-hour diversion! I was warmly welcomed upon entry by the current staff members (all new to me), before being quickly recognized by Roberta and Chef Oliver. I chose 3 courses, and 3 different glasses of wine that were recommended to pair well with my food selections. First up, the amuse: an interesting trio of chilled pea/mint soup, poached watermelon with yuzu foam, and broccoli with fermented bean; all were excellent, with the dishes presented to play with your eyes, nose, and mouth. Each bite was better than the last. Next, polpo ceviche with avocado and orange, a seemingly perfect flavor and texture combination. For my main, I chose the chocolate pyramid pasta stuffed with braised pork shoulder and finished with a reduction of prawns and 'nduja, a flavor combination that needs to be experienced to understand - impeccable. Lastly, I had the chocolate mousse, a perfect transition away from the chocolate pasta towards the evening's wrap up. All the wines by the glass were excellent, and paired perfectly with each dish. I cannot state enough the creative energy, flair, and experience that goes into each delicious dish on this menu, nor the hospitality that is on offer. I have been here at least 7 times since they’ve opened, and am already starting to think about my return in the fall. 10 out of 10, as always.

We loved this restaurant so much that we visited 3 times. Truly incredible tasting food and beautifully presented. What is unique here is that you can have a table of vegans, vegetarians, and meat eaters and all find something truly special to enjoy. On one visit we had the fixed menu--wow--so many exquisite flavors. Truly something to be experienced. On the second visit we attended a pasta class with the owner, Roberta. We have never made pasta before, but, wow, were we in the best hands. Roberta guided us through the process. She even showed us how she makes her Ragu. We had a sit-down meal of what we created and it was wonderful (highly recommend). Our last visit--we enjoyed a combination of dishes, including the filet, which I was the best we had ever had. Chef and co-ownerOliver is an artist and an incredible creator of one-of-a-kind dishes, and flavors. If you are heading to Florence--and want to experience something special, I would definitely book at Cuculia. Also want to mention that the decor and restaurant are visually charming.

4 of us, middle of 3 weeks in Italy- ate here- easily one of our best meals. Why? Well the ambience was great, and they brought us a delicious special appetizer, and then afterwards the owner, Roberta chatted with us and shared a delightful small frozen dessert. The prices similar to other places but the quality was far higher than elsewhere

A perfect gift! Instead of the usual gifts, my cousin and I treated ourselves to a treat. We also feasted with our eyes. Refined and beautifully presented dishes, the service was welcoming and made you feel truly pampered. I highly recommend it.

A simply extraordinary experience at Cuculia. The service was excellent in every way: attentive, professional, and making you feel warmly welcomed. The quality of the food is extremely high, far superior to that of most restaurants in Florence. I tried the tasting menu, while my husband chose the vegetarian one: both were incredible. Each dish surprised us with its originality, balance, and authentic flavors. Authentic, refined, and never-before-experienced flavors. I will remember every course because I was amazed with every bite. It's rare to find a restaurant that continuously excites you throughout the entire dinner. I will definitely return to Cuculia soon and bring my friends, too, because they often ask me where to eat really well in Florence. Cuculia is one of those special places that, once discovered, you never want to leave. Highly recommended!

An excellent dinner in a very comfortable restaurant, attentive to customer service. Attentive and friendly service. The ingredients (food and wine) were of the highest quality. Creative cuisine with meticulously presented dishes. Not all dishes were of the same quality, in my opinion (some had a bit too many flavors that overpowered each other), but overall a great experience, from the appetizer to the dessert. Definitely a place to return to explore the chef's culinary offerings.

Go for the set menus; you'll find quality bistro-style dishes! The atmosphere is rather upscale and touristy. Don't listen to the Americans too much; the meat is perfectly seasoned. My only complaint about my experience was the poached egg, which wasn't runny at all. And some of the flavors could have been a bit bolder to better highlight certain ingredients (especially the strawberries).

04/05/2026: A wonderful experience at the Canto del Ramerino, truly friendly service, and top-notch food. Try the truffle fillet and the gnocchi with gorgonzola and pears.
03/05/2026: A very typical restaurant. The menu isn't very Florentine and very touristy. I ordered gnocchi alla sorrentina and pici alla matriciana, thinking it was the chef's style, but it wasn't particularly interesting. I saw high reviews. It's strange, considering the low average in Florence. It happens!
