26/08/2025: When we arrived, we were initially a little disappointed because the menu was completely different from the images on Google Maps. We then decided on a fish platter as an antipasto for two. Four different fish dishes were offered as 'salumi di pesce'. It wasn't cheap, but the value for money was good. It was very tasty. We then decided on a fish that wasn't on the menu instead of the tataki with a delicious sauce. The house-made bread was delicious, and they offered refills whenever we wanted. Overall, we were more than satisfied. The service was very good and friendly.

03/10/2025: We randomly ended up here since most other places were closed. Turned out to be a great choice, its a place that doesnt look much for the world but serves great food. The pizzas are amazing and it feels like youre eating in someones livingroom, in a good way

29/09/2025: Nice people, good food, reservations recommended as it's always busy. (We were there in mid-September!) Tip: Don't just eat pizza. They also have typical Tuscan dishes!

20/09/2025: My best meal on Elba Island. The fish and pasta dishes were truly excellent; I especially recommend the fried fish and tuna tartare. The desserts were also delicious. Friendly service and prices in line with the rest of the island, but for a decidedly superior quality.

28/08/2025: This is a wonderfully relaxed place to dine. The fish dishes are particularly recommended. The fact that the people of Castelfiorentino love and recommend this restaurant speaks for itself. Advance reservations are recommended on weekends.

05/10/2025: We ate divinely, two first courses, pici and fettuccelle T-bone steak (about 1kg), side dish water and wine, about €55 per person The staff were really kind and knowledgeable. The place was very busy, but they made everything quickly. Highly recommended for traditional Tuscan food!

20/08/2025: A quiet restaurant with a variety of options at reasonable prices. We tried the tasting menu, and the chef was incredibly willing to create vegetarian dishes specifically for one of our guests. Even though we chose the traditional menu, I expected a little more originality given that the restaurant is listed in the Michelin guide. No real surprises, but the quality and service were textbook. I would perhaps have avoided the chocolate cake as a dessert, since it's available in any trattoria.

15/08/2025: NIGHTMARE!!!!!! I wish I could, but I can't... Run away, avoid going before you regret it!!!! Poor food, terrible quality, a tasting menu that deserves to be returned. Poor-quality, poorly cooked fish. Poor service, and rude and ignorant staff who even insulted and assaulted us. The final gem: After paying and leaving, we were told our reservation was cancelled to avoid a review on The Fork. I'll post the photos here, judge for yourselves. The beauty! Shame on you, scammers!!!!!!

07/10/2025: I don't know if it's due to language or cultural differences, but I felt a bit discriminatory towards Asians, and the service was rather poor. It's rare to see customers being made to wait outside the restaurant after entering. I even asked three times if I could be seated, and they just said "wait here," which felt a bit disrespectful. The T-bone steak was average, alright. At 94 euros, it's decent value, but the beef lacked some flavor. I personally prefer the richer flavor of grain-fed beef. Also, the rareness wasn't something I was used to; medium might be more to my taste. The salad was good, and the cappuccino was quite good.

Rita welcomes guests with rare warmth and kindness, creating a warm and authentic atmosphere that makes them feel instantly at home. The cuisine is a triumph of flavors and tradition: the lasagna, made with dough rolled by hand in Rita's kitchen, is a poem of flavor and delicacy; the Florentine steak is cooked to perfection, juicy and fragrant; the desserts are a fitting conclusion to a memorable experience. For dessert, I recommend the fragrant sfogliatina with berries, a simple yet irresistible dessert, and the warm cantucci with vin santo, which offer an embrace of authentic Tuscan flavors. Highly recommended 😍🤗 A place where you can feel passion, professionalism, and a love for good food. Sincere compliments to Rita: Barrino is a must-visit for anyone seeking the true pleasure of Tuscan cuisine.

29/09/2025: I believe this hotel deserves a five. The views of the city are remarkable. The service is impeccable and the rooms are clean with all the amenities one would expect. Nicholas was without a doubt, the best hotel host I have ever experienced in all my years. He and his staff constantly went out of their way to provide one on one personal service. From putting on dance music at night to greeting us in the morning with fresh food and champagne. I highly recommend a stay at this hotel above the city of Florence.
