16/03/2026: Really an amazing restaurant, I cannot reccomment this place enough! It has perfect location, charming view from a romantic terrace, wonderful stuff (Antonio is really one of a kind, his English the best I ever heard in Italy in 20 years…) and the food we had was delicious. Actually I was blown away the moment we entered the restaurant, as the waiter was immediately helping us with the babystroller and tried to distract our baby girl from having a tantrum in pouring rainy day in Siena. You can tell they know how to take care of their clients! The service only got better as they were ready to help us choose and in perfect English. We tried the seafood and also the burrata pasta and it was excellent. We saw other dishes that made us sorry we were there just for one day… We enjoyed their desserts, wine and the caffè granita too. The rain gave us enough time to savour it all… And all this time we felt welcomed, our baby included. We had no idea the restaurant had an amazing view and were able to see it as our waiter invited us to enjoy it with their umbrella despite the rainy day. His colleague even offered some interesting information about the city when he saw me looking at the pictures of Siena… they were very welcoming and professional, really a delight that made our visit so much better. All of them, the italian mamma from the kitchen as well. We will be back and congratulations to the owner, you have a real treasure. (Honest review of a demanding guest who looks for how the best service is delivered, as I got spoiled in Costa Smeralda. ;)) I came back later when the rain finally stopped for good to see the terrace once again as Antonio suggested, to know what to look for on our next visit. Grazie mille e arrivederci!

05/03/2026: Very small but very welcoming place. You could eat there just for the friendly waitress, but we recommend it for the food, which is fantastic. The Florentine steak melted in your mouth, and the freshly made tiramisu was delicious. Great experience 🔝
20/02/2026: Very good local trattoria in San Gimignano. We were here in winter so about 80% of the restaurants are closed. How do you know this one was authentic? Packed with locals at 8pm on a week night. Must try if you're in the area. Sausages with tomatoes and tusan beans was delicious, will be thinking of this meal for years to come.

25/01/2026: Excellent food. The Aconese sauce is overpowering with too many different flavors, but it's definitely good! The new Acone olive oil is excellent. The cured meats are good, but the crostini are a bit less so. The table wine is good, definitely superior to the usual gut-burning Tuscan ones. The desserts are excellent, all homemade. Fast and courteous service. Excellent value. The only problem is that it's a bit far from the city. An experience to repeat!
19/01/2026: I came back here on Saturday evening even though it's a bit far from home, but I took the opportunity to take a tour of Mugello. Like the other times, the welcome was excellent and the dishes were high-quality at a reasonable price. We'll be back soon because I saw the tagliata with porcini mushrooms.

29/12/2025: Last night, we had a wonderful experience at Chef Filippo Saporito's Leggenda Dei Frati. The venue is simply enchanting, located inside Villa Bardini and boasting a breathtaking view of the city. Hard work, research, and thoughtfulness create a wealth of flavor. The cuisine is deeply rooted in the local area, and the wine selection is the result of long and meticulous dedication. Some courses are already missing as soon as you finish them, but the crescendo of flavors in each dish makes you want to see what else the chef will delight you with. The bread, too, is incredible, masterfully presented in all its forms, creating the perfect pairing with the dishes. The desserts are simply a triumph of flavor. Every detail of the dishes exudes love and care. The service is truly impeccable. An experience truly worth experiencing.
21/12/2025: Dining at La Leggenda dei Frati with my family was like stepping into a little Florentine dream. The restaurant, nestled in the terraced gardens of Villa Bardini, where lush vegetable gardens offer hundreds of freshly picked aromatic herbs transformed into unique flavors, offers an experience that captivates every emotion. From the terrace, Florence unfolds in all its beauty: Brunelleschi's Dome, the Palazzo Vecchio with Arnolfo's Tower, the Basilica of Santa Croce, and the Ponte Vecchio appear like a living painting, transforming every dish into a moment of poetry. The cuisine of chefs Filippo Saporito and his wife Ombretta is elegant and surprising.
