24/09/2025: Great stop on the Via Francigena in this building beautifully restored by a charming young couple, decorated with a dream terrace with breathtaking views of the mountain. Perfect dinner, perfect rooms, all Italian design! Even the dog Luna and the nameless kitten are there! We highly recommend it to all walkers and non-walkers!

The freshly fried churros were truly excellent, but the strudel, which had been reheated in the microwave, was a bit less delicious. If you're in Salsomaggiore and want to eat meat at a reasonable price, this place is an excellent option.

14/02/2026: We've been coming here for years... we can't say we're regulars because we only come here once a year, but the feeling when you walk in is always the same: a place where you feel at home. The quality of the food is excellent, as is the care taken in its preparation, and it never disappoints! The incredible hospitality is part of the experience. The price is a bit high, but it's worth the trip. You can always find something special to eat (something you wouldn't eat anywhere else). In short, recommended for those who enjoy an intimate atmosphere, good food and wine, and the warmth of home.

06/01/2026: Between the Uss and the Asa. In dialect, it means "between the door and the shutter," and refers to that feeling of indecision felt by those who don't know whether to go in or stay outside. Having booked, we came in for lunch and were asked to wait outside because our table wasn't ready yet. While we understand that the place is really small, waiting outside for almost 15 minutes in the freezing cold wasn't pleasant, as there were only two of us, we certainly wouldn't have cluttered the place. The place is charming, a bit radical chic, and has very few tables, making it unsuitable for groups. Unfortunately, it's very cold inside, too, which made our visit unpleasant. The two seemingly friendly owners seem like they've stepped straight out of the 1960s, with a lackluster appearance and sometimes a less than pleasant demeanor. I won't comment on the menu, which features dishes I don't like, such as sinew, cheap meats like boiled meat prepared with rind and lard, or stuffed tip with eggs and brains. In short, you have to have a strong stomach, and I admit it doesn't suit my tastes, so I'll refrain from any criticism, except for the sloppy presentation of the dishes and the bird-sized portions (two small pieces of meat accompanied by a spoonful of mashed potatoes with a taste of garlicky salsa verde and two tastes of mustard). It's also absurd to ask for room-temperature water and be told it's kept outside, therefore frozen, violating all food preservation regulations. I don't dare imagine the rest... the coffee made with a moka pot is another rather poor example of conveying the restaurant's idea of ​​offering a sustainable service rooted in the ancient flavors of peasant cuisine. It's impossible to ask for changes to the menu, so it's not suitable for those like me who have food intolerances. As for the quality/price ratio, I won't comment and will leave the honor and glory to the more courageous.

08/02/2026: A very pleasant dinner. You can try many local dishes and local products (cured meats, cheeses, etc.). "La Rosa di Parma" and "Pisarei e Faso" are definitely recommended. If you're still hungry, be sure to try the legendary gelato. The location is also very charming, and the paintings displayed throughout the various rooms are particularly appreciated.

26/01/2026: Fantastic place. The food is delicious, and the staff is not only friendly and approachable, but also very professional. The fried pizza is perfect. The Ganassino is so soft you don't even need a knife; it's delicious and pairs well with the polenta crouton. The stuffed Parma rosé is also excellent. Last but not least, the desserts: Sbrisolona and Tiramisu, delicious. Everything was truly perfect, from the staff to the food. Everything we ordered was more than delicious. Highly recommended.
