05/06/2026: Locanda Romana is a must-stop every time we pass through Fanano, and it's always a great choice! The staff is incredibly friendly, the food is always top-quality, and the portions are generous! The fried mushrooms are a must, and the sautéed porcini mushrooms are heavenly!

13/05/2026: We stopped here on a road trip, and it was a wonderful surprise. Recommended! Get off the highway, eat there, and then leave. It's worth it.

10/05/2026: A group with a pre-arranged menu. It took an hour from when we sat down (1 PM) to when we were served. They might have gotten a little crowded because it was so busy. The gramigna with ragù was fabulous, the tigelle were fabulous. The gnocchi weren't my cup of tea, but they were good. The cold cuts and everything else that accompanied the tigelle were excellent. The atmosphere was a bit noisy.

10/06/2026: We were there for my birthday, everything always delicious, excellent service, shame about the scialatielli with lemon, clams and prawns which were totally tasteless... I didn't say that because I didn't want to wait for another dish.

02/06/2026: (Unfortunately, the desire to eat the dishes I ordered was too strong and I don't have photos. But I assure you that the quality and quantity are excellent. I travel about 65 km to come and eat there... you decide!!!!

11/07/2026: We stopped for dinner, everything was excellent, and the staff was friendly and efficient. Gnocco fritto with Parma ham, passatelli with fresh sauce, roast beef and potato chips, and mascarpone cream: everything was delicious and light.

28/06/2026: I've been there a couple of times, and the food isn't bad. The first time, though, 24 euros for a grilled meat platter with four pieces of meat seemed a bit steep, and oh well... the second time, the food was still pretty good, but the decaf coffee was just rubbish. My coffee at home is better. It's not 5 stars, but 3 would be too harsh, so somewhere in between.

16/05/2026: Pizza's are excellent, staff is super nice. Place is <5 min drive from Ferrari Museum in Maranello, so if you are coming to museum, this is next logical destination 😎

06/06/2026: I had dinner with a group of friends and we were all very satisfied. We ate really well from start to finish. The tartares were excellent, fresh, and well-prepared, but the dish that won us over was the Florentine steak: tender, flavorful, and perfectly cooked. The service was also friendly and quick, and the atmosphere was pleasant, perfect for a lovely evening with friends. Definitely a place I'll return to and one I recommend to anyone who loves good meat.

25/05/2026: The best meat I've ever eaten in Modena. Excellent quality. Impeccable and elegant service, which is not a given. The quality/price ratio is fair for the quality offered. Highly recommended.

16/05/2026: We went on a Saturday evening with a group of friends and children. We chose the pizza tour, but it took us over an hour to start eating the pizzas, and the bacon was everywhere, even on a vegetarian one. The taste, I'm sorry to say, was non-existent. It was a terrible mess with children coming from various places scattered around the one we were at, and we spent a lot for having eaten just a few slices of pizza each. €77 for three of us seemed really excessive to me.

08/05/2026: We arrived at 9:45pm Although at first the employee told us that they were closed, fortunately the owner came out and put us at a table The food was great, the service too. The cook was the owner's mother. Great food. Great bonzole in a jug.

29/05/2026: Back from a stay at Casa Maria Luigia, which, though brief, was no less interesting and enjoyable. Forget about a typical hotel stay or a simple gastronomic 'experience.' This is something else entirely, or at least that's how we experienced it. Accommodation: Excellent, with rooms focused more on aesthetic detail than functionality. The garden/park is an oasis. We only missed a turndown service, usual at this level. The thoughtful breakfast introduces you to regional products, but we did miss a simple croissant. The service is young, attentive without being intrusive. Lara and Massimo want you to feel at home, and they succeed admirably. The primary language is English, more so than Italian. The target clientele is tourists seeking experiences. There's a strong presence of Americans (Lara's excellent work is evident here as well). Dinner: Casa Maria Luigia offers (and more) a tasting menu featuring some of the Chef's iconic dishes. Nothing is cooked there; there are no pans or pots, only plating up and ovens for setting temperatures. In fact, you don't get the impression of being in a restaurant, but rather in an exhibition—an exhibition where the works aren't paintings to admire, but the dishes themselves, and the experience is a tasting preceded by an explanation of the 'work'. It's best to go with a clear idea: it's not a 'dinner,' it's a visit to a "gastronomic exhibition." The result may be more or less to your liking. But this is it. In all, we enjoyed our stay and plan to be back.

13/05/2026: We noticed at some point Casa Maria Luigia changed their schedule to be open 7 days a week, so we changed up our travel plans to stay here during our time in Emilia Romagna and the trouble of updating our plans was so worth it. This place is truly incredible and I would recommend it to anyone who comes to visit this area. There is clearly so much thought that goes into making this place feel like home - the staff is extremely friendly and we also had the pleasure of meeting Massimo and Laura here who are so warm and down-to-earth. We also did a tour of the Acetaia (where they produce traditional balsamic vinegar on the property) and we learned so much from the guided tour and are happy to be bringing back some gifts with us to remember this place when we’re back home.

04/07/2026: We stopped by after the Ferrari Museum, where the chef is a former Formula 1 chef! Our expectations were probably a bit high, but overall, everything was delicious!
