29/09/2025: Why 1⭐? Try my experience and understand, but now I'll give you a summary. I'm not a taster or anything like that, after the trip I want to find a place to rest and have dinner. The place was suitable (I was wrong). When I arrived, I waited about 20 minutes for the menu, and the order was placed after another 15 minutes. I wanted to leave earlier, but I was interested in whether the dish would be worthy of all this time. Disappointed... Total time: 15 minutes.

15/07/2025: For lunch, the food was plentiful and well-made. The staff was very friendly and dynamic. The price was competitive.

16/09/2025: We went to the restaurant. Highly recommended. The atmosphere was very refined, both inside and out. The dining room in the evening was truly spectacular, beautiful. The food was top-quality and there was a good variety of choices. Friendly service. The prices were very fair. I was truly impressed by the attention to detail. Congratulations! Tip: save room for dessert, because they are excellent!

12/08/2025: Exclusive and welcoming, the atmosphere of carefully restored spaces exudes authenticity. Excellent cuisine with traditional flavors completes the picture. Not to be missed!

26/09/2025: A fantastic confectionery shop, they also offer balsamic vinegars. I highly recommend it! A distinctive flavor, a unique combination of sweetness and a slight acidity. The products are packaged appropriately for gifts.

20/09/2025: The kindness of the staff and the delicious desserts were an integral part of a truly unforgettable experience. The zuppa inglese and the cocoa cake with hazelnut filling were excellent, but I didn't get to try too many other things. I'd definitely return for the Viennese pastry, but every sweet treat on the counter would be worth a visit to this historic pastry shop!

16/09/2025: A historic restaurant with a traditional menu, as it should be. Everything was good, from appetizers to desserts. I've never used the rooms, so I can't comment on them.

02/09/2025: Self-service restaurant in a historic building. The food is exceptional. I've never had a bad meal. Even though there are often a lot of people, the wait is never long; on the contrary, lunch is served in a very short time. The option to order takeout is also very convenient. I highly recommend it. The food is truly divine!

03/09/2025: It's my FAVORITE restaurant, my favorite place, where time stands still and the rest of the world stays outside, a refined and sophisticated place. As soon as you walk in the door, you're enchanted by the display case and the assortment of cheeses and cured meats. The restaurant has been selected nationally to organize high-level events. Stefano is wonderful, kind, helpful, highly knowledgeable, the perfect host 🤩 It's a family-run business and you can taste it in the flavor of their dishes.

23/08/2025: The Simposio dei Sensi, a place that won me over. Refined, welcoming, with particular attention to the choice of raw materials. Upon entering, you're enchanted by the two refrigerated counters, one stocked with a carefully selected cheese selection and the other with a unique selection of cured meats. There's no menu; the waiter will tell you about it because it changes so often. WHAT I ATE: I chose the tortelli filled with Stilton, a French blue cheese, served on a bed of pumpkin cream with raspberry drops. A very balanced and delicious dish. Next, a shin of patanegra (a type of ham) on a bed of mashed potatoes—it was simply delicious. The manager, on his own initiative, brought us a small tasting of Roccaverano robiola and Grigentana goat cheese with lavender honey—a true delicacy. For dessert, a crème brulee—perfect. ● WHAT I DRINK: On the owner's recommendation, I drank a 2021 Pletter Lagrein from Cesconi, a wine that paired perfectly with the dishes. Excellent choice. ● VENUE: The place is very welcoming with a very relaxing atmosphere. Not at all noisy. ● STAFF: The service was impeccable, the waiter very attentive and made us feel at ease. ● PRICE: The price of €95 per couple was reasonable considering the quality of the dishes and the service. ● TIP: If you're looking for a place with high-quality traditional cuisine, where the ingredients are carefully selected, Simposio dei Sensi is an excellent choice. Try it! The place is only open on Friday and Saturday evenings, so book in advance.

04/05/2025: Cosa dire,...non ci sono parole per esprimere la nostra gioia ed enorme soddisfazione ! ..prenotato da tempo per festeggiare il mio compleanno e quello di mia moglie che per motivi vari non abbiamo potuto festeggiare a tempo e debito; pomeriggio prima della cena tanto desiderata io non mi sento bene, ma per nessun motivo voglio rinunciare alla serata! E bene che ho fatto! Prima sorpresa: ristorante aperto solo per noi.. e questo la dice lunga sul senso dell'ospitalità; Seconda sorpesa: riferendo che non ero in grande forma e scusandomi quindi che non avrei potuto godere fino in fondo delle loro prelibatezze, si fanno in quattro a prepararmi a parte portate adatte alla mia situazione...terza sorpresa: si sono ricordati che al momento della prenotazione avevo parlato di compleanno e ci fanno trovare una torta (la loro inimitabile millefoglie) con una candelina per me e una per mia moglie! quarta sorpresa: hanno aperto una bottiglia di bollicine e hanno brindato con noi! Che dire, dopo una esperienza così in altri locali, per quanto eccellenti, non potrò provare le stesse emozioni, perchè atmosfera, disponibiltà, accoglienza a questi livelli sono un dono ed un'arte. 13/04/2025: A place with attention to every detail, with an intimate and welcoming atmosphere, friendly and attentive staff. Fixed menu with top marks, each dish is an explosion of flavors and authenticity. A real gem that I absolutely recommend!

22/07/2025: This pizzeria 🍕 is run by really nice and friendly people, the atmosphere is family-friendly, and the time spent at the tables is pleasant. There's nothing to complain about as to the food: everything is delicious and carefully prepared.

20/08/2025: Local on Via Emilia Ovest, two minutes from the Modena Nord motorway toll booth. Ideal for a quick lunch or dinner with friends. Upon reservation, they make both meat and fish paella, among the best in Modena and accompanied by sangria. Perfect service, the dining room staff is very welcoming. Very competitive prices, with just €30 you can have a quality fish dinner

20/08/2025: I've been to Trattoria dei Contrari: I have to say the food isn't bad; in fact, it's quite good, and the dishes are well-presented. However, the overall experience was ruined by the service: I found the staff inattentive and often rude, with no regard for the customer. It's a shame, because with a little more courtesy, it would be a truly lovely place. Instead, you're left with the feeling that they don't care about welcoming you as they should.

27/07/2025: My daughter, my husband, and I stopped in almost by chance because we were passing through the area. It was a delightful discovery: the staff were incredibly friendly, the atmosphere was clean, the menu varied, the dishes were amazing, and the prices were very fair. We had tagliatelle with meat sauce, which were fabulous. It will definitely become a must-stop when we're in the area. Highly recommended!!!

25/09/2025: Gobsmacked. Is everyone else on some tastebud altering psychedelic acid trip or is it just us…We were so looking forward to the ‘I love Modena’ degustation but there was simply nothing to love and it was more like a discust-ation. we are not food critics nor do we wear our cangol caps on backwards whilst writing our travel vlogs but we have dined in many fine restaurants across the globe and would rate ‘the food’ that we were served at this restaurant among the worst. It was so bad that our children couldn’t stop laughing each time another worse tasting inedible concoction came out laced with the same fluorescent green slime. We were not sure if this food was supposed to some kind of fusion or confusion. We wrote directly to the restaurant telling them about our experience and that we would have preferred to eat a piece of pizza and donate our €500 to some people in need, however they did not respond so after two months we decided to write this review to prevent further crimes against the human palate. The only saving grace were the excellent wait staff who did there best to describe whatever it was the chefs were trying to create with a smile.

21/09/2025: A place really special. Most of foods are really good and delicious yes. Specially tortellini alla parmigiana like most people say. As a dolce that cake more delicious than zuppa inglese.! Also all vines were so good. Prices are high of course you should know that but must be tried once.

08/09/2025: Excellent quality and fresh fish, seasoned just right so it doesn't cover the flavor of the fish. The portions of the dishes are generous, the mixed fried food is not very greasy, few vegetables, lots of fish... (not the opposite like many restaurants).

28/07/2025: Very good seafood restaurant, excellent value for money, impeccable service. Unfortunately, there was a dog there, whose owner was incapable of managing him. He was very annoying, barking and making a mess, and the staff didn't intervene to resolve the issue. We'll be back to try it, hoping not to have a repeat of the dog experience.
