The atmosphere is typical of a Modena trattoria, with friendly service and excellent cuisine featuring traditional local dishes. We opted for two first courses: tortelloni with butter and sage and lasagna, followed by an excellent pork cheek stew with tigelle and baked potatoes. The meatball appetizer was also noteworthy; everything was truly delicious. Congratulations! Excellent value for money.

If you love authentic Emilian cuisine, Paganine restaurant is simply an absolute MUST 😍🍝 The tortelloni and tortellini are out of this world 🤤 rich fillings, pasta made like they used to be, and flavors that make you feel like you're at grandma's house ❤️ But the real surprise? The tagliatelle with mushrooms 🍄✨ are incredible: fragrant, super creamy, and with mushrooms that truly taste of the woods… a total delight! Authentic atmosphere, generous portions, and top-notch quality 👌 If you pass by and don't try them, you've done it all wrong 😄 Paganine = pure comfort food 🔥🍷

Typical local cuisine, clean and welcoming atmosphere. I ate well and the service was very good. The only flaw, in my opinion—but it doesn't affect my rating, because it's a company decision—is the price. There were four of us, and with a first and second course each, two coffees, and a €12 bottle of wine, we ended up paying €150. For traditional cuisine, €40 per person is a bit excessive, in my opinion! But that's the only complaint I feel like mentioning!

We stopped in almost by chance after visiting Pavarotti's house, without a reservation. The owner was incredibly kind and managed to find us six seats, even though everything was fully booked. The food was excellent; tortelli and gnocco fritto with prosciutto were top-notch! Highly recommended.

The restaurant is well-maintained, even though it's a bit older. The restrooms are clean and equipped with everything you need (which isn't always a given). It was a business lunch, so it was a light affair. The two starters were excellent, and the service was excellent. I'll return with more time and patience to try other dishes.

04/05/2026: TRATTORIA MADONNINA-MODENA-Maggio. You only eat one thing here: gnocco and tigelle, with cured meats, cheeses, beans, chicken, Nutella, and jam. Excellent! Sit down and enjoy Emilian tradition. :)
03/05/2026: We loved everything. The food, the service, the friendliness, the atmosphere... among other things, we spent very little for what we ate. The fried gnocco was spectacular and we also really liked the beans. They obviously took into account that we were with two little girls, which is not a given. Everything is subjective, but I don't understand why you can't give the best to places like this, which fortunately still exist. My daughter took the business card saying that when she grows up she will come back. So keep it that way. PS I find it absurd in 2026 to complain about the lack of vegan alternatives. Their menu is more than clear online, and if in doubt, you can call and ask if it is possible to accommodate any requests.

28/03/2026: It's worth stopping by, seriously. I was only able to photograph a portion of the windows because on a Saturday morning at 8:00 the place was starting to attract customers, but aside from a few moments of waiting, I have to say that there's truly an embarrassment of choice. If I may offer one piece of advice, I think the window display needs rethinking. With the increasing crowds, you often can't see the selection until you reach the lady who's about to serve you. I find it impractical, and it's a shame that every gem doesn't have a chance to be seen. Whether we're talking about tarts, savory options, or classic brioches. My sister and I had a pan au chocolat and a saccottino (both truly enormous!), with a soy cappuccino and a latte (oat) macchiato. I can't say it was my cheapest breakfast, but the quality ingredients and the effort put in make it feel like an undeniable value for money. I think it was truly a delicious treat.
