27/11/2025: I am adjusting my overall rating to 1 star due to the owner’s response below. The service rating is now 0 stars, which lowers the overall rating. A restaurant owner should be cautious about assuming that a customer and/or their “country of origin” are inherently ignorant about other cultures’ foods. I tried to be polite in my honest feedback by stating that the dish was not to my liking because it was dry and that the pasta and truffles were both hard. This apparently led the owner to profile me as some ignorant outsider. So, let me be a bit more comprehensive in my descriptions. I will also add that not only was my pasta dish terribly dry, it was bland and lacked the classic intense, earthy, and umami flavor one expects from truffles. The owner is incorrect in the assertion that truffles cannot be hard. Truffles can be hard for a number of reasons. Perhaps the truffles were either harvested immaturely or were past their prime. Perhaps they were simply low quality truffles. Improper storage can also lead to loss of quality, resulting in the truffles becoming hard. The owner is also incorrect in stating that the dish was “creamy” in any sense. It was not. I am also well aware of “al dente” pasta and perhaps the “homemade tagliolini” at one point was cooked “al dente”, but when it arrived at our table the pasta was anything but “al dente”. The entire dish tasted like it had been prepared an hour or more earlier and left to sit somewhere waiting to be served. Nothing about the dish tasted freshly prepared. The fact that we each sampled the other’s dishes is completely irrelevant and an absurd thing for the owner to even say. Why would a restaurant offer a dish that has to be quickly gobbled to maintain any semblance of palatability? We left the restaurant with a sense that we would return, but now we will not. OWNER RESPOSE TO ORIGINAL POST Hi, thanks for your review. I remember you were there well. There were two of you, and you ate the two first courses. Probably, in your country of origin, little is known about truffles. Let me explain that truffles are a hypogeal mushroom, and they can't be hard. Unlike other mushrooms, they don't contain water, so the dish is creamy but without excessive liquid. I also noticed that you split the two dishes, letting time pass. Obviously, ravioli, topped with artichoke sauce, can be eaten very slowly, but a dish like truffles doesn't allow for much calm. As for the hard pasta, you ate homemade tagliolini. Wonder if it's the flour, which is excellent quality. I would add that in Italy, pasta is always eaten al dente. 😀. Best regards. ORIGINAL POST My husband got ravioli, which were very good. I got a pasta with truffles that was not to my liking. It was unpleasantly dry and both the pasta and the truffles were hard. Service was good. Atmosphere was cozy and clean.

25/10/2025: Every time I go to Sapri, be it summer, winter, fall, or spring, I HAVE to have a Lucifero dinner. Latest experience (but there have been others, all memorable): - appetizer: mussels marinara: discovered this summer and already addicted: top marks; - main course (I'll skip the first course, since I'm on a diet...): native scorpion fish stew with baby cuttlefish: I enjoy it at the right pace (deeping it myself) with an excellent Falanghina: top marks; - house dessert (don't tell the dietician): I'm sorry, but I couldn't resist: academic kiss. In short, a dinner worthy of publication, in a beautiful and traditional restaurant. Not to mention the service: efficient, thorough, unobtrusive, and friendly. The prices? You'll pay, at most, 5 euros less than what you'd pay, at least, in Milan.

16/09/2025: Good dishes for both a casual lunch or a work break away from the usual food hassle. Over time, they've improved the quality of the ingredients used, and it shows on the palate. I highly recommend stopping by for a taste. Prices are reasonable.

First of all, the **location** is charming: a characteristic, warm, and welcoming environment, with a view of the balconies overlooking the square, creating a truly pleasant and relaxing atmosphere. But the real triumph is the **cuisine**. The menu offers dishes that celebrate Campanian traditions, revisited with skill and creativity. I tried the Panigaccio pezzente and it was **sublime**: intense yet balanced flavors, the freshest ingredients, and a care in the plating that shows passion. I had to try the "Panigaccio" and I must say it's an experience not to be missed! Special praise goes to the **service**: the staff is extremely kind, attentive, and knowledgeable, always ready to recommend the best pairings, especially Mr. Gustavo (the owner), who, with his sommelier expertise, guided us through an excellent selection of local wines. **In summary:** If you're looking for a place to enjoy authentic, refined cuisine in a timeless atmosphere with impeccable service, **Il Panigaccio** is the perfect choice. We highly recommend trying everything and taking Antonio's excellent advice. We'll definitely be back, as it's a must-visit for anyone visiting Cilento.

19/10/2025: *"Alberto Il Ritrovo" has become for me much more than a delightful inn in the heart of Eboli's historic center: it's a natural extension of home. A place where you can eat and drink well, but above all, you can meet, as we once did in the square or on the avenue, without having to schedule appointments, certain of running into friendly faces.* The selection of cured meats and cheeses is among the finest ever, the menus follow the seasons and are carefully and elegantly designed by Laura, while Giovanni passionately guides you in choosing wines, especially if you're a fan of less conventional labels. Among the specialties not to be missed: *Messina-style involtini* and *pork cheek*, two dishes that alone are worth the trip. A place that stays in your heart.

10/10/2025: This was such a delightful find! Real food! Impeccably sourced and prepared as though they were cooking for family. We had lunch and were amazed by the delicious selection of cheeses, meats, and vegetables paired with the most incredible bread I have tasted. The handmade cavatelli and meatballs in a classic tomato sauce was simply fantastic. Dessert cake Pastem was fresh, moist and had a delightful crumb and memorable flavor. This was not your typical tourist fare, but authentic rustic food celebrating the best of Cilento.

09/10/2025: Very disappointing. Cannoli tasted like it was pre made and fake. Who puts dried fruit in a cannoli? Nothing from that cannoli was fresh. Service was horrible. Workers getting upset because we bought 1 piece of items. Iced coffee was warm poured over ice which is not iced coffee. Atmosphere felt like we were being degraded.

25/06/2025: Ottimo Pub, esteticamente molto curato, cibo delizioso e buona selezione di birre e bevande. Ho provato sia i panini, sia i piatti, sopratutto in estate con il caldo, consiglio la tagliata di pollo. Organizza anche serate divertenti e in estate ha anche tavoli all'aperto. Consigliato!
21/06/2025: Tutto buonissimo! Gli ingredienti sono di ottima qualità ed è possibile fare delle aggiunte o rimuovere ingredienti a piacere, ci sono una grande varietà di cibo e diversi piatti sia per celiaci che per vegani. Prezzi onestissimi per la qualità e la quantità del cibo offerto.

28/09/2025: We've been wanting to try this place for a while and were quite pleased with the place, the efficient service, the good quality and the good price. However, if you're looking for a real grill restaurant, let's say this isn't quite it. It's a good restaurant that also serves grilled meat, but the selection isn't that extensive. However, I'd recommend it.
