Ristorante Antico Borgo In Scala

I believe this restaurant has new owners and a new menu and this is their first summer season under the new ownership. There is tons of potential here and I would return. I believe they are still getting used to the summer crowds and, though the restaurant is off the beaten path, it was busy and service could have used one more waiter. We tried stuffed pepper appetizers and the octopus. The octopus had good flavor but was just the tiniest bit tough. The stuffed pepper was delicious and different from other appetizers we'd had elsewhere. The pizza was amazing. Some of our crowd said it was the best pizza they had all trip. The pasta with the fish of the day was also the best pasta I think I had all trip. I loved it! The fresh catch of the day served acqua pazza style with fresh vegetables was also flavorful and delicious. The truffle ravioli was also very good and one of our guests said it was her favorite pasta she had during our trip. The tiramisu was very good. However, we had to wait for the Delizie al Limone dessert because the chef hadn't finished it (though it was after 9pm at night). It was good but slightly frozen in the middle (the chef had to flash freeze it for safety we were told). Overall, our meal was delicious and as I mentioned before, we would return. I think as the new owner and chef gets more experience, they have tons of potential and will get better and better. A few minor improvements would have made this definitely 5 stars.

The food I will recommend the steak and seafood. Do not do the risotto and pasta they were not really good. However the staff is amazing. They are so great and pleasant. A sure winner in my eyes. That cheese salad also amazing.

We had all our lunches and dinners at Antico Borgo.We loved Emarus, Antonio, Andreas, and Sara for their love and hospitality. Thank you! We loved our 3 night stay at Palazzo San Giovanni.

AB is such a beautiful restaurant, the food is great and Andreas is an amazing server. He was willing to customize our meals and chef E came out to meet us. We stayed close by and this became our staple restaurant. Look forward to visiting again soon.

Antico Borgo was a wonderful restaurant to visit while we stayed in Pontone. They have recently updated their menu and I believe they’ve renovated too. We went on our first day in Italy and we were so jet lagged that we only ordered pizza because we were so tired. The pizza was incredible. Next time, we will stay for the full experience—multiple courses, dessert, espresso, and limoncello. Take away/carry out isn’t very common in Italy but they were very accommodating about this so we got a box of pizza to go a second time later in the week. Like the first time, the pizza was fresh and incredible. The crust was so doughy and delicious. We loved the margherita of course but also the Diavola pizza (that’s what you should order if you want pepperoni pizza. Pepperoni in Italy means a green pepper.) Grazie mille, Antico borgo! Hope to be back again soon.

This place, the staff, and the cuisine are simply incredible. The food and service were the best we have experienced in this destination. We would like to express our sincere thanks to the entire team and the owner for taking such wonderful care of us during our stay. Honestly, I don't understand why the rating is below 4.5. The pizza is truly world-class, and the service is very friendly. The view is magnificent.

Antico Borgo was by far the best food experience during our 9-day trip to Italy. It is a hidden gem on the Amalfi Coast located in a tiny Village of Pontone (next to Scala). The food was just amazing. Highly recommended!!! Also, the restaurant crew was exceptionally friendly, welcoming us like we were their close family. We came on a game night (Champions League football) hoping to see a game inside. As soon as we mentioned a game we were invited to a separate room with a TV and the owner turned on the game for us. We felt like VIPs. We would probably never found this restaurant if we weren't staying in the Palazzo resort next door. We were already thinking about another place to eat at but we stayed at Antico Borgo and we did not regret it. Furthermore, we came back next evening and ordered the same dishes - that's how good the food was!!! The prices are just right, very affordable. Believe me, it is worthy to even walk from other villages around Pontone to experience truly exceptional food and the atmosphere at Antico Borgo.

We dined there two nights in a row and each time the meals were excellent. The view from the dining room is breathtaking and the service impeccable.
