15/10/2025: We ordered a slice of pizza with escarole and one with ricotta and spinach, both delicious, with plenty of filling. But there were so many other good things to try. The place is old, not overly refined, but it overlooks Piazza Dante and also has a few tables outside. Excellent value.

05/10/2025: A very famous rotisserie in Piazza Dante. I decided to stop by to try their fried food specialties, but I have to say I was disappointed. The Neapolitan sandwich was cold, and the counter attendant didn't even ask if we wanted it reheated. The frittatina was good, but it didn't have the classic breading. Good for emergencies, but not by choice.

22/09/2025: Very tasty dishes, even the quantity was AMAZING! The price? Truly better than anything I'd seen in Naples and the surrounding area in two days!! My compliments also to the staff, it's clear that attention to detail is very important to them. We had a truly wonderful time (4 hours at the table), the food was delicious regardless of the choice. We'll definitely be back, the place is perfect in every way... the kind of place that makes you feel AT HOME 🫠🎯 I HIGHLY RECOMMEND IT.

13/07/2025: Nos encantó este restaurante familiar, hogareño y delicioso. Los spaghetti alle vongole, la bruschetta, melanzane, proscuito e melone. . . ¡Todo para morirse! En realidad volvimos una segunda vez porque nos encantaron los sabores y el servicio amable y discreto. ¡Incluso nos presentaron al chef! También me encantó la brisa fresca con vistas al mar. ¡Bravo!

27/06/2025: Ristorante autentico, vissuto, pieno di sensazioni positive. Palafitta sul mare. Abbiamo pranzato in 4 con una brezza impareggiabile . Antipasto di alici e bruschette.. semplicemente gustose. 4 primi piatti (spaghetti alle vongole, con alici, ai frutti di mare e con le cozze) semplici, e preparati con prodotti di qualità. Ci ritorniamo di sicuro. Servizio informale e premuroso!

04/08/2025: Very good food. I'd recommend the tomato pizza bread starter. Bruschetta on a pizza base and the dough is delicious. It's a big place but I'd recommend booking to be safe

29/07/2025: Sono stata al Ristorante Sorrento e devo dire che è stata un’esperienza davvero piacevole. I piatti erano super buoni, cucinati con cura e davvero saporiti. Il servizio è ottimo: il personale è stato gentile, disponibile e mi ha fatta sentire subito la benvenuta. L’ambiente è accogliente e curato nei dettagli. Anche il prezzo è giusto, considerando l’alta qualità del cibo e l’attenzione che viene data al cliente. Ci tornerò sicuramente!

21/09/2025: Only in town for the day on a cruise. Our driver recommended Trattoria Medina for lunch. Six of us decended on them and they put together some tables for us right away. Great service. Great pizzas!

30/08/2025: We had an awful incident on the beach with another customer and none of the staff stood on our side or did anything for us. We saw when a middle aged man infront of us took a photo with the selfiecamera. My friend (a woman in a bikini) was in the photo behind him. The man then zoomed on my friend and cropped the photo so that she only showed in the photo. Then he proceeded to send the photo to a groupchat in whatsapp, where there were many other sexually offending photos… We saw this and went to the man to tell him that he should delete the photo immediately. He was defensive and wouldn’t show the photo to us or delete it. Even the man’s wife started to yell us angrily in italian… Then we went to the beach staff with the man and told the staff what had happened. We forced one staff member to look at the taken photo when the man finally agreed to show it. When the staffmember (another older man) saw the photo, he just said ”that is just a funny joke”. We were absolutely shocked and frustrated about the comment. Then the staff just said, ”it’s not our responsibility” and did nothing. They just offered water for my friend (the one who was in the photo in her bikini) and told her to calm down… Absolutely unbeliavable. We managed to force the man to delete the photo. After that we just left and the staff said nothing. The man was allowed to stay on the beach with his family like nothing happened…

30/08/2025: We had a very unpleasant experience here. An Italian man took a photo of one of our female friends without her permission and even sent it to a group chat. We confronted him immediately and made sure he deleted the picture and the message, even though he was there with his wife and children. What shocked us even more was that the staff did absolutely nothing when we informed them. They showed no reaction and took no responsibility. Because of this, we decided to leave the place — and honestly, who would want to stay in such an environment? I cannot recommend this place, especially for women.

19/09/2025: I dined at this restaurant as part of an organized group trip, so the menu was pre-arranged by the agency. ***Fried appetizers, pizza, house dessert*** I had high hopes of finally eating a real Neapolitan pizza, but I was genuinely disappointed. Not just me, but the rest of the group as well. What a shame.

15/09/2025: We went there twice in three days and ate delicious oven-baked pizzas accompanied by a green salad or grilled vegetables (light) it was perfect for the evening. I would have liked to try the whole menu. The service is very friendly. I highly recommend it, the establishment is large and very pleasant inside when it is hot and you want to be cool.

Its simple setting evokes typical Neapolitan moments and phrases from everyday life, and the owner is helpful and polite. A highlight is the gluten-free menu, identical to the regular menu. Worth considering if you're in the area.

For me, 'A marenna 'e Mamma' is one of those places. Indeed, it's the place where Neapolitan tradition comes back to life, even in a gluten-free version. As soon as you walk in the door, you realize that everything here is made with love. Nothing is artificial; there's true passion, the kind you feel in the gestures and in the smells wafting from the kitchen, that aroma that takes you back in time to family Sundays. We start with the appetizers, and right there you know you're in the right place. The savory pizzas, the rustici, the fried pizza, the arancini, the gattò, and so many other delights that taste like home. But the moment when everything stops is when the genovese arrives (this is just one of the options on the menu). Tradition in its purest form. And then the meatballs and the pork chop (another option on the menu), capable of bringing back a distant memory and making you say, "Here it is, this is the flavor I was looking for." Behind every dish are Veronica's expert hands, hands that cook as if they were preparing lunch for their own family. And then there's Peppe, who welcomes you like a long-awaited friend. He pampers you, tells you stories, makes you feel part of a big family. And just when you think you can't ask for more, dessert arrives: the Bounty spoon cake. An explosion of flavor, and it's there that you realize there's always room for happiness. The place is a little gem, every detail speaks of Naples and its history. But the truth is that A marenna 'e Mamma' is more than just a trattoria. It's a journey into the heart of tradition. It's an experience made of memories of lost flavors, of the typical Neapolitan cuisine that represents our identity. I found all of this here.
