28/12/2025: Only someone who doesn't understand a thing about cooking, and probably not even about good food, can give "Ristorante Il Gambero" a star. Here, you "eat really well," but above all, you eat with an open mind: you have to let yourself be guided by the chef's suggestions, who has a personal, unconventional vision and—not to mention—is also "very nice in his own way." This is not the place for those who put on airs, for those who want to be pampered every three minutes, or for those who mistake obsessive attention for quality. If you need constant confirmation or to feel like the center of the universe, "look elsewhere." You come here to eat, to trust, and to appreciate authentic cuisine, without unnecessary frills. The "value for money" is excellent, a rare thing these days, and the overall experience is more satisfying than many restaurants that are "starred" only by reviews. Recommended for those with "a good palate, curiosity, and a modicum of self-irony." Everyone else can just keep giving stars at random.

12/04/2026: A charming place with a breathtaking view of Vesuvius and all the surrounding villages. The pizza isn't exactly the best, but it's fine. The service and the premises should improve. Otherwise, it's ok, with reasonable prices accessible to everyone.

21/12/2025: Terrible experience. The location is run-down, the atmosphere is gloomy, and the cleanliness is extremely poor: from the bathrooms to the table service. There was a visible layer of dust under the placemats, a sign of total neglect. The decor is dated and outdated, lacking any charm. The food was disappointing: the dishes were excessively greasy and of poor quality. The bill also seemed unjustified for the quality, with prices significantly overpriced. Chaos and disorder reigned supreme. I strongly recommend avoiding this restaurant; there are many others that are truly worth it.

22/04/2026: Great location but that’s the end of it. Huge let down. The bedroom was damp and had mould on the walls and the bathroom tiles and ceiling also had a lot of mould. Some of the walls were thick with dust. Looked like it had not been cleaned in a long time. Was pleased to leave. As we checked out after only one night some other people refused to stay and checked out so lost their 3 nights with of money but they said they couldn’t stay there.

09/04/2026: We had a reservation for 3 nights and had to leave after 1.5 hours due to the condition of the rooms. There was mold and both rooms we had smelled awful. Even though we had full days of outings planned, we couldn't deal with the conditions even if just to sleep. The location was phenomenal in the center of old town, but this is not a 4 star hotel.

11/03/2026: Wonderful experience. I went with some friends and we had a great time. The staff was attentive and the selection of wines and craft beers was excellent, all carefully selected by the owner! My friend and I came here from Como, and the kindness of this place will remain in our hearts.

01/03/2026: I discovered this wine bar on social media, and from the photos, it looked welcoming and well-kept. Unfortunately, the reality was completely different. The atmosphere was quite surreal: the place was quiet, with no music playing, and the owner constantly staring at us from behind the counter, creating a truly uncomfortable atmosphere. It felt more like a "mystical" place than a wine bar where you can relax and enjoy an evening. We ordered a pinza, which was practically frozen, undercooked, and of questionable quality. The capocollo on top, moreover, still had the skin on it: a truly unpleasant thing to find on the plate and a sign of poor preparation. A decidedly negative experience in many ways. I wouldn't return even if they offered me a million euros. It would take very little—a little music, more attention to detail, and more customer service—to make the place more pleasant. As it is, unfortunately, I don't recommend it.

29/04/2026: Expensive and stupid. 4 drinks and 1 pizza is 36 euros. And the coperta is 12 euros. That's 33%.

21/04/2026: €55 for a green salad with octopus, a swordfish stew, and two waters. A real steal. Water alone was €4.50 each... average quality, but the price was truly out of line. Highly not recommended.

09/11/2025: The Margherita pizzas are good, but only when freshly baked. We also had the golden-brown and fried eggplants, but since they were cold, they were tough and oily.

26/04/2026: Truly excellent pizza and arrosticini, top-quality ingredients, and incredibly kind and attentive staff (the water bowl for the dog without even asking was much appreciated). We came on the recommendation of Deputy Mayor Mario D'Agostino, and it was absolutely worth it. Special mention for the young woman who served us: friendly and very professional.

30/12/2025: Burnt pasta, potatoes, and provolone cheese. Poor service. I asked for napkins twice. We asked for good wine, but they brought us watered-down wine. This place could have great potential... Too bad.

26/11/2025: Filthy kitchen snd filthy bathroom. Frozen mini cannoli. Lukewarm cappuccino. DINT GO THERE! The guy making the coffee had s nasty attitude. Very disappointed

29/11/2025: I made an appointment for a quote, but they didn't show up at the facility, asking me to meet them at another location a 15-minute drive away (after having already driven me 45 minutes). According to this logic, I should have gotten a quote without seeing the facility. P.S.: I only got a phone call when I got there and found it closed.

21/10/2025: Everything was perfect, I celebrated my husband's 40th birthday and I can confirm that they exceeded my expectations. Congratulations to Antonio events.

17/02/2026: I give one star because it's impossible to give less. I went to the bar on the same day a friend had recently purchased a tray of chiacchiere. I lined up at the register, waiting my turn to speak to the cashier, to whom I pointed out the terrible quality of the products (they were blackened and covered in oil!), keeping in mind that it was a special day. She, annoyed and annoyed, huffed and puffed, and referred me to the man who called himself the "owner," but in reality was just a simple counter clerk. Approaching him, I asked if it was possible to speak to the owner aside. He, identifying himself as such (the concept of "owner" needs rethinking!), told me I could also speak there, so I pointed out the terrible quality of the product. He immediately complained that I was discussing it with other customers nearby. I walked away, waiting for a solution that never came. So I approached him and asked to see the product I had brought with me on that occasion. The so-called "owner" wanders around, touching the product and putting it back on the tray, claiming that this is the quality of their products (in other words, terrible). To this end, I pointed out that I could no longer eat the product I touched and that, by law, he should have refunded me the cost or offered me a tray of the same quantity. Instead, very rudely and loudly, he tells me in dialect that I've been there for an hour bothering him (which is absolutely untrue, so much so that I ask the cashier for confirmation!), and I invite him to find a solution. Speaking rudely and very annoyed, he invites the cashier to offer me a little something, and I repeat, a little something, almost as if trying to silence me, but I refuse. I explained that this wasn't the way to resolve the issue, given his rudeness and that I'd even posted on Facebook to point out the terrible quality. He, in his usual rude manner, told me that since he's working, he doesn't have time to use the phone for anything unrelated to work (actually, this is work, too, and, moreover, he'd picked up the phone several times in my presence!). He, in the rude and loud tone that had become his trademark, and making a terrible spectacle of himself and the establishment, literally kicked me out, much to the astonishment of those present. I stated that my intention was merely to point out the condition and quality of the product (after all, it doesn't take a qualified chef or professional pastry chef to realize that they had been fried in blackened oil for a long time, and were not crumbly) and that, even if I were in the wrong, this certainly isn't the way to address a customer. Obviously, I will never return to this place with terrible staff, arrogant, unqualified and very rude, they have lost more than a few customers

24/04/2026: As soon as it arrives, you know you're getting a "normal" pizza—for us celiacs, that's not a given! I can confirm that it's really good, even in flavor. I ordered a Margherita, but they make all types of pizza, including gluten-free, including stuffed and fried pizza. I'll definitely be back. I've also been told the regular pizza is good. The prices are fair, as they should be.

28/03/2026: Huge disorganization... we were a group and ordered a pizza through Just Eat at 8:30 PM and it arrived at 11:05 PM. The girl who answered the phone blamed the delivery guy even though the pizzas were still being cooked at 10:30 PM. The delivery guy was the only one honest and was not at fault when in reality the restaurant was completely in the wrong. P.S. The pizza wasn't bad but they didn't even bother to slice it, and there were hairs and not enough chips on the sausage and fries. Disgusting!!!!
