26/02/2026: Beautiful location and good food, but few vegetarian options. The service is mediocre and needs improvement, and the owner is truly unfriendly. We booked for lunch with a two-and-a-half-year-old, and when we arrived, there wasn't even a high chair available. When we asked for parmesan cheese to put on the polenta with the sauce, the hostess replied irritably, "We don't use that here." During service, the staff spilled water on the table and didn't even bother to mop it up. We asked for two bitters and were charged for them—nothing wrong with that, except that other customers were offered them!

07/02/2026: Piano B is a truly delightful discovery in the heart of Rocca di Cambio. This bistro perfectly blends a traditional mountain atmosphere with a modern, refined style, creating a warm, welcoming, and relaxing atmosphere. The decor features natural materials like wood, the lighting is soft, and the atmosphere is intimate and well-organized, just as the photos on social media demonstrate. The location is excellent, central, and extremely convenient for those visiting the area, even first-time visitors. As for the food, we ordered: • a classic beef tartare, meaning raw meat, extremely fresh and of excellent quality, with well-balanced flavors • a portion of classic fries, crispy and well-fried • polenta with mushrooms, served hot and flavorful (we chose not to add truffle for personal taste) • lentils and potatoes, off the menu, a simple yet authentic dish, reminiscent of traditional local cuisine • a scamorza cheese melted with duck speck, truly excellent, tasty, and well-balanced To accompany our meal, we ordered a bottle of Montepulciano d'Abruzzo, expertly recommended by the staff. The wine was discounted, as was the final bill: €74, rounded up to €70. At the end of the meal, a further gesture of great hospitality: we were offered two grappas, a detail that is always appreciated and leaves an even better memory of the experience. A special mention goes to waiter Gabriele, who served us with great attention and professionalism. He was truly skilled at recommending what was truly worth trying, guiding us through both on- and off-menu dishes with sincerity and expertise, without ever being intrusive. This is a significant added value, especially for those unfamiliar with the local cuisine. Seating is limited, so reservations are strongly recommended on weekends and holidays. The only small point that could be improved is the menu, which offers limited choices. In my opinion, expanding it by adding new options, without removing existing ones, would make the offering even more comprehensive. Overall, it was a very positive experience in every way: quality ingredients, well-executed dishes, pleasant atmosphere, excellent location, and excellent value. A well-deserved five stars, we'll definitely be back.

20/12/2025: It was our first time, and now that I've tried it, I'll definitely become a regular. Wonderful staff, fresh, high-quality fish cooked to perfection, a welcoming and beautiful place, excellent value, and the portions are so large that they're hard to finish. What can I say? You really know what you're doing.

08/02/2026: A simple yet welcoming place, offering traditional dishes with various types of arrosticini and meat dishes, side dishes, and desserts. We had a delicious bruschetta with truffle, 50-gram arrosticini, chicory and eggs cooked in a pot with truffle, and a chocolate dessert with a warm heart. Everything was delicious, with generous portions. Friendly staff and reasonable prices. Free parking nearby. Reservations recommended. Recommended

01/09/2025: This piadina shop was recommended to us by the owner of the hotel where we stayed. The piadina is excellent, prepared by the owner, who is truly talented. We also had amatriciana and carbonara, both freshly prepared and the best we've ever had. The charcuterie board was also delicious. The owner and his two daughters were incredibly welcoming. Excellent value for money. We'll be back!

12/12/2025: We heard a lot of good things about this restaurant and, attracted by so many nice words, we decided to go there for lunch... or rather we thought about going... the phone number doesn't seem to exist, there's no way to get in touch with them, they don't have a mobile number but only a landline, no social media pages... and furthermore, reading the opening hours here on Google, I realized that they are open 45 hours for lunch (perhaps for the short lunch break of the workers who are nearby) and two hours for dinner.

12/10/2025: The wait for the courses was really long, and the dishes were so-so. The tagliata was lukewarm, and the potatoes fell apart because they were so overcooked. The ingredients were good, you could tell despite the preparation, and the atmosphere was too. It was probably just an unlucky evening, I hope.

01/02/2026: Rude and rude staff. We arrived at 11:30 am asking to reserve a table for 2 pm and were told they didn't take reservations; we just had to show up and request one at the desired time. We arrived at 2 pm, asked for a table, and were denied because, to quote the manager who was calling the tables: "See this? It's called a waiting list, and I'm calling it, and in fact, I can't give you a table." This is unfortunate and disgusting behavior, clearly reinforced by the fact that we were the only ones at that altitude. I recommend stopping at the restaurants at the cable car entrance, which are cleaner, friendlier, and of better quality.

22/01/2026: The place is beautiful, over 1700 meters above sea level. A cozy spot to stop, enjoy a delicious hot chocolate that warms your soul, and then continue skiing. I thought the price of the hot dog was excessive.

31/01/2026: A true gem in the heart of Roccaraso! If you're looking for the true essence of Abruzzo cuisine, La Capannina is an absolute must. We were welcomed with an old-world warmth and professionalism: the staff is exquisitely kind, always attentive to every detail and capable of making you feel at home from the first moment. But let's move on to the highlight: the food. * The house antipasto is a triumph of local flavors: a lavish platter of local cured meats, quality cheeses (the fresh ricotta is sublime!), artisanal pickled vegetables, and incredibly flavorful sautéed mushrooms. * The first courses are pure poetry. We tried a fresh pasta with incredibly creamy porcini mushroom cream, a dish that exudes mountain flavors and tradition. * The meat, cooked to perfection, confirms the high quality of the ingredients used. Even the simplest dishes, like the hamburger and fries, exude an authentic, captivating flavor. * The atmosphere is rustic and welcoming, as you'd expect from a high-end retreat in Roccaraso. Excellent value for the quality offered. Highly recommended! We'll definitely be back to indulge in the flavors of Abruzzo again.

20/12/2025: We stopped here WITHOUT a reservation and LOVED IT! Antonio was brilliant and "il cuoco," Claudio served us "a meal to die for." We loved the informality. We arrived for dinner and made not a single decision, the meal was pre-detemined and fabulous. This is our new home away from home.

21/12/2025: A welcoming restaurant with 1970s decor, spacious, quiet, and peaceful. We enjoyed excellent ricotta and spinach ravioli with a white porcini mushroom and truffle sauce, fettuccine with tomato sauce, two side dishes, water, and a generous glass of house wine. Attentive service from the young man. The unique dessert was presented with two teaspoons, on their own initiative. The bill was fair, exactly in line with the menu price (€47).

14/12/2025: The pizza is very good, the service is good but be careful with the bill, every time I go there I pay 7 euros more outside of the cover charge 2 euros per person... who knows
